I am from Karnataka. The Daiva that is shown as Varaha roopa is actually known as Panjurli. He is a Gana of Shivji (Mahadev). He is like Dharma devta. The Daivas are more stricter than Vishnu or Mahadev, that is what we believe.

Pehle mein Black Adam dekhne jaane vala tha jab mujhe pata laga ki kantara Hindi mein release hogi toh ab mein Kantara dekhne jaunga 🙏🏻🙏🏻

The deity Khandoba is also worshipped in Karnataka, especially in Northern part as Mailarlingeshwara. There is a large & staunch following of the deity around here. The chant 'Elu kote, Elu kote, Changamalo' is associated with Him.

In coastal karnataka specially mangalore and udupi regions,families worship demigods..these are believed to be ganas of Lord shiva.and one community perform this folklore known as bootha kola as seen i movie.its annual ritual in many families there..

The songs especially Varaha roopam daiva varishtam is amazing 🤩....i think it's a folksong too...but you must watch that song in kannada ....

Also I've watched rural Marathi vaghya murali which you have also talked in this video. After Boycott Bollywood I have been asking people to promote the local art form which is disappearing from our country. These artists have become poor because no one watches the today. We must encourage these local folk artists

Infact there are many similarities between Maharashtra, Karnataka , May be because we were ruled by same dynasties like Chalukyas and Rashtarakootas. Even in Uttrakhand you will find same rituals and tradition known as Jagri. Where we call our Ishth Dev (Demi-gods) to take blessing once a year. So loved to see this.

Some stories cannot be translated into other languages and Kantara is one of them. It is raw and real. This story is of coastal Karnataka and Tulunada people who still follow the rituals of Bhootaradhane or bhoota kola. And dialogues are best heard in local languages and there is a different kick when you hear it in Tulu or Kannada language. Still, if it is dubbed pakka non Kannadiga will like it but you people won’t connect to it the way Kannadiga got connected to the culture and traditions of Tulunadu. 🙌🔥 Best of Best “Kantara”❤5/5 Please watch it with subtitles. Only regional films hi culturely rooted films bna sakti hai. Bollywood se aisi apeksha karna murkthata hai. Bollywood ke jyadatar film maker bharat ke bare me bharat ke alag alag parts ke cultures ke bare me kuchh nhi jante hai. Vo to bus apni hi duniya me mast rahte hai.

As a guy from Tulunadu ,where bhoota kola's are performed, i don't think dubbing can bring the same impact as compared to original. Also you need to have atleast little knowledge about daivas like panjurli and guliga to understand and feel full impact of the movie. I hope this dubbing doesn't completely dilute the movie's impact Even kannadigas who are not native to tulunadu region can't feel the same impact compared to a tuluva. Also Daivas talk in Tulu language in this movie. Few dailogues and slangs has been changed in hindi dub🤦🏻‍♂️ Jai tulunadu

Bhaiyya I cried watching this movie's climax. It reminded me of Lord Bhairava & Mata Mahakali.

Rishabh Shetty left non veg for 1 month to do this role.. and followed the rituals with bhakti 🙂.. that's y he performance was pure... Now a days god role who does in Bollywood doesn't fit at all. Just for the sake of job they do acting They should feel and accept the role from soul. Only South actor respect towards such dedication when comes to spiritual role. I don't see such dedication in Bollywood now a days. Only money money 💰

Believe it or not, Kaantara is a package of goosebumps. Its just a movie of next level. The fact is, to get these goosebumps; first u need to understand the tradition of the land. Kaantara means forest in sanskrit. Its a movie of next level. Kannada movies are ruling the box office just because we show our true culture with love and respect.

To some fellow beings.. using words like "demi god" etc.. 🙏 Let's not use translated words like "demi god" "worship"... we have concept of "anant shakti and anant roop"... which percolate down to a kul, gram based on how nature has evolved in those areas.. and instead of "worship" we have concepts of "shakti jagruti from antar-karan and antar-mann, depending on kaal, avastha, yug and adharm"... via various tools like dhyan yog jap tap karm satsang sangeet nritya etc etc etc.. the moment we say "workship" we "externalize" that power and shakti outside of us... and then we lose the whole meaning and concept of Sanatan.. and by "externalizing god" we become easy prey of abrahmic cults...
