Kanton island ,Central Kiribati prt.1 by T33T 

I was working on Canton Is. In the 70's in support of SAMTEC OL. Enjoyed the time there.

this brings me back to Kanton island in 2007 when our father worked as a police man in Kanton, there are a few people who came to work on it and they becoming one family miss the memories on Kanton

Our family lived there for a few years, during which time I was born. Our house was at 4 Palm Way. Likely in ruins now, if anything of it remains at all.

That's a lot of material for a population of 24...

Why China really want to develop Kanton?.....for the benefit of Kiribati or China's own interest?...

Thank you for posting this. Looks beautiful and interesting. I believe some of the buildings and the airstrip were built during WW2. I keep seeing China in relation to this island, but the United Kingdom and the USA are in “control” of this precious atoll. Would love to know what the occupants/population think about this situation. Thanks again 🙏🏻😊
