Karen McCluskey confesses killing Gaby's stepfather to protect the other girls! Played by the wonderful Kathryn Joosten. Great scene from the last season of Desperate Housewives
Mrs. McCluskey was the real MVP on Desperate Housewives. She looked out for everybody on the Lane. It's too bad no one in the world is like her in real life.
Remember when she was first introduced? Her and Lynette were fighting over her children, I thought I’d hate her for the whole series, damn she proved me wrong.
Im siding with Karen, Lynette s kids were out of control, and she was such an arrogant bitch that she couldnt admit it. Remember how crazy she got when Bree spanked them? Tom, as usual, played it cool and admitted Bree s spank was effective while all their dumb "liberal" methods were useless
@@alucinado1021 i agree with that but still won't accept someone else raising their hand against my kid. also, Lynette had a lot of kids to deal with and sometimes it is not the parents' fault but she did have her pride in the beginning of her series.
I cried SO much when she died in the last episode, she was so valuable to the show and I did not realise until it was too late. Then I cried even more when I found out Kathryn passed away 20 days after the episode aired. RIP to Karen and her.
With all those beautiful romantic, moving and thrilling moments of the series, I have to say this one is the best of all 8 seasons for me. Who would have thought that Karen would become such a great asset to the story, when she first showed up. I've rewatched this moment over 100 times.
No, that's what Gabby said to Carlos when she was going to confess to killing her stepdad. That's why Gabby came rushing into court, as she was about to confess
Beautiful - Colours Like his character in desperate housewives Kathryn Joosten died of cancer on June 2, 2012, 23 days after it was released was the last episode. A real pity, I did a lot with his character, I hope he rests in peace.
RIP Kathryn Joosten, a wonderful actress that played Karen McCluskey 🙏🏼 we remember and miss you. You made this incredible show even better - I laughed, cried, learned some life lessons with Karen. 🧡 2019
this was truely one of the best twists in tv history.,. and the writing on the show is criminally underrated. mrs mccluskeys last act was to save all of them!
yes she was a soldier. she was fighting cancer. usually it’s a slow death so i’m sure she was hospitalized or in hospice for months long after filming this. she died 20 days after this episode aired.
Kathryn was a fantastic actress and i will never forget her role as Karen McClusky in Desperate housewives! My favourite series! R. I. P Kathryn we will never forget you ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
She was protecting the entire neighborhood; Carlos murdered the guy, Bree, Gaby, Lynette and Susan covered it up, Susan told Mike and Bree told Ben, Ben dug up the body, hid it and then Mike buried it under concrete, Lynette told Tom, who then told Bob (Who likely told Lee), and nobody who was told ever spoke, so they're all considered accessory. Only Karen, Roy and Renee found out after the trial had already started, so they're the only three out of the main cast who can't be held legally accountable.
RIP Kathryn Joosten! She literally had lung cancer at the time and died later the same year that this episode aired. Both actress and character were amazing! RIP!
This was so unreal, maybe they believed that Karen killed him but someone must have burried him,and what happened to Reene's confession about seeing Bree with a shovel and her conversation with Ben? so many wholes in this scene
Actually no. In the next scene the judge calls both counselors to her chambers and Bree s lawyer made her clear that he was going to play the child abuse card, thus appealing to the members of the jury because most of them were parents. Thats why they decided not to continue with the investigation and dismiss the trial. Lets not forget that Chuck s cop friend forged evidence to get to Bree by writing her addres in Alejandro s map.
Thats the thing, bree was being tried for murder not for burying a man. So if karen killed alejandro, bree helped bury the jury would think of course the old lady cant possibly carry that man into the woods. The jury would give her a non guilty verdict bec the crime she was being tried for was murder not burying the body. It will be a mistrial and since they dropped the charges, also refused to convict mccluskey then dismissed
I HATED how Gabi runs in and shouts - then sits down and no one at all found it strange.. just waved off as another ‘housewives ditzy moment. It drained the drama out of this scene by 90%.
I always thought it was insane that Bree was taking the blame for the murder in the first place. Carlos killed the guy, while defending his wife. Gaby could have said she had done it in self defense if she wanted to protect Carlos, and she would have had justifiable cause, but why in the world was Bree taking the fall for it? And why were all were "friends" okay with that?
Gaby never went to the police accusing Alejandro as a rapist, and since he was unarmed when he came inside the house it would have been seen as a deliberate act of murder. And don't forget Carlos had a criminal record, they wouldn't believe it was self defense.
Carlos would’ve almost certainly been convicted of murder, really. In the end, Gaby is his wife and was the only real witness to the assault, which runs risk of protection and would render her evidence unreliable. Having never come forward to police about Alejandro’s abuse, that wouldn’t hold much weight as it has no evidence on record. It may as well be hearsay. And Carlos’ criminal record included violent assaults that could be considered unprovoked due to misunderstandings; this allows them to make arguments against possible self defence, and paint Carlos as a violent, dangerous man. Even dare consider that he is Mexican and subconscious racial bias on the jury is always a risk. Present all of that in court and Carlos is looking at a lifetime stretch in prison pretty much without a doubt.
