I own a model s, electric is pretty nice but nowhere near as clean as you'd hope. The batteries are not recyclable and cause a great deal if harm to the environment.

Next time you come across Mr and Mrs Karen like this. Ask them how are electric cars cleaner than gasoline cars, a bulk....like over 64% of electricity generated world wide is from coal and natural gas and other fossil fuel, nuclear, not exactly clean is 11%. Leaving only 25% clean, hydro 17%, wind and solar, 7% a a bit from biotech. My car gets like 14 combined mpg but does the 1/4 mile in the 11’s...LMAO 😂😂😂

The funny part is when I had a Vettes (front engines), I was getting about 30-MPG allround. Better on hwy and not bad city. It is a very light car.

The corvette gets very good mpg cruising. Over 30 on hwy. High 20s if you want to have fun once in a while.

I'm sorry, but that guy was right. I'm a car fanatic myself, but it's hard to deny the reality of climate change when you can see the change happening before your very eyes. Sure, in a perfect world, I'd love to have a supercar or two parked outside right now instead of a couple grocery getters. I can see myself in a "practical sedan" like an Evo for weekday commutes and a 599 to show off with on weekends. I can just picture myself wasting at least a couple extra litres of gas every Saturday in the 599 just so that I could fully appreciate that exhaust soundtrack. But, this isn't a perfect world. I live in Barbados, and we're vulnerable to hurricanes down here, so it's kinda hard to be cavalier about needlessly adding to the production of greenhouse gases knowing full well that it's helping to fuel the megastorms that we're seeing nowadays. A few years ago, islands like Puerto Rico, Dominica and Barbuda were devastated by Maria and Irma, so who's to say that the next big storm won't decide to visit us here in the 246 instead? When I was a kid back in the 80's, we'd maybe get a few strands of Sargassum seaweed floating in to adorn our beaches every now and then, but these days, we literally get tons of the stuff every year. Tourism is our main foreign exchange earner down here, so having beaches that are inaccessible to tourists because they're covered with blankets of seaweed that stink as they rot isn't good for our economy. When I was a kid, we would have an occasional drought every once in a while, but it wasn't anything earth shattering. In recent years, we're now getting droughts that are severe enough that they are causing water outages in some parishes because the aquifers aren't being replenished with adequate rainfall. If the aquifers are empty, there will be no water to pump out of the ground to supply people's homes, period. Yes, we're an island surrounded by lots of water, but building lots of water desalination plants to take advantage of that isn't cheap. I don't remember hearing anything about clouds of Saharan dust floating across the Atlantic when I was a kid. I've certainly heard about the phenomenon in recent times, but this year was the first time that I've ever heard meteorologists actually issuing warnings about deteriorating air quality because of it. So yeah, I've seen enough now with my own two eyes to know that we're all probably better off listening to the experts on the issue of global warming. IMHO, it's better to be safe than to be sorry. Will driving a whisper quiet EV - even if it's a brutally fast Tesla - ever compare to owning to a sonorous Ferrari? Heck, freaking no! But, if I can put solar panels on my dream house one of these days and charge my car without contributing to this mess that's building around us right now, I'll definitely feel much better about myself as a car enthusiast.

The new NSX is my dream daily. It has the looks and the performance. It’s not the best car but you just can’t beat hybrid technology when stuck in garbage stop and go traffic.

I am 100% a huge liberal who thinks we need to change the way we work, or our planet will get to the point where we cant fix it.. HOWEVER.... Every corvette on earth ever revving the engine at the same time does not put as much gas into the atmosphere as one dirty energy conglomerate does in one day. Sports cars are not the issue, cars with bad emission standards are a small problem but huge companies are the real issue. Leave the guy alone. He earned his money and wanted a beautiful car.

25mpg highway epa rating isn't exactly a gas guzzler. Combined city/highway rating isn't much worse than most midsized SUVs. No it can't compare to hybrid and electric vehicles. However, that c8 will last twice as long as any hybrid/electric car, and when we have to make two cars for every one car, we aren't making much progress environmentally. The technology is getting better, the nsx has 3 electric motors if I'm not mistaking, but can't compete with over 100 years of gas/diesel production. Also, find a more constructive way of getting your point across. Yelling, blocking traffic, and making an ass of yourself isn't helping your cause.

Doesn't drilling and mining for lithium produce more emissions than normal petrol powered cars? EV's are no better than petrol cars, since they are making CO2 emissions elsewhere instead of on the road. Might as well use some sort of biofuel or alternative energy source then.
