The animation in this is amazing. They managed to turn it into an actual story despite the chaotic talking, with Ricky going in and out of character and whatnot. Incredible and hilarious.
What Karl means is that it's like being a vet, in that there is an unspoken agreement that you will try your best to save that life, but also that if that person/animal dies, you did all you could.
@@TotinosPizzaRollz Not really. Especially considering how sympathetic Karl is towards most animals (except jellyfish lmao). His point was that when a cat is on the brink of death and it at the point of being on an operating table it is already expected to die. If the vet somehow manages to save it then that's a bonus, but the vet is not *expected* to do so. Likewise, the moment those people were taken hostage they were already considered doomed. If the negotiator can save them then that's a bonus. If the negotiator says something that pisses off the terrorist to the point where they kill a hostage, nothing was lost that wasn't already lost the moment that person was taken hostage. That same hostage would have likely been killed anyway regardless. In other words, there is a difference between "failed to save them" and "got them killed".

I just find it sad that a man who is LAPD, in the SWAT team and an impressive hostage negotiator has to moonlight as security to earn a living. And people like the Kardashins earn millions… smh...
battermix it'd be better to have actual contributors of this world than pointless idolised mediocrity earning so much that seeing that they have such luxury whilst there are those who are starving and those who are homeless makes your blood boil with rage. I'd rather live in a world functioning on the written word of communism than the unjust, unfair reality we currently reside in, but alas, the concept of communism doesn't factor for the selfishness and evils of the human condition.
battermix remind me again the amount starving in the US in comparison to say, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and Norway and tell me that being a socialist is the wrong way. If you create revenue through demand but factored in the importance the job has to your society then maybe law enforcement, health services and other jobs of use in both the US and my own country, the UK, wouldn't be in entire fucking shambles trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel for funding. I don't believe in communism in practice because it'd would never work, but you're an absolute bullshiter if you say that socialism can't.

As much as They take the piss out of karl I can't help but feel ricky was at the butt of the joke on this one. I can just imagine this police officer security guard like.... Yeah I killed 5 guys with my bare hands, I'm a negotiator that's swat and I trained John Rambo haha.
So the guy doesn't care if he lives or dies, but he takes a hostage and demands a car? Poor sod doesn't know what he wants. That or Rickey is just making sure he "wins" no matter what Karl does in the scenario.
