Great shave Chris!! So for reference, a CB B plate has .73mm blade gap with neutral blade exposure, the C plate has .09 positive blade exposure and a .83 mm gap, so the Overlander has B plate gap, with just a smidge less positive blade exposure than a C plate, but the geometry allows it the efficiency of a D plate. This is what I gather from my research, can’t wait to pick one up myself. Have a great day my brother!

Hi Chris, The Karve Overlander looks like a great razor. I agree with you about M&M, they are another great artisan in the community. My only helpful comment for M&M is about their website. They have excellent products, but it can be a bit challenging to navigate the M&M website. It can be done though. By contrast, navigating the Karve website is very straightforward. The bottom line is that both artisans create excellent shaving products and we are all fortunate to have so many talented artisans to choose from. Have a great day everyone!

I agree with you. The M&M Website isn't the most user friendly, especially if you're just looking for M&M soaps:) That said, I think it's worth the effort to look through it.

Wonderful Shave Chris! Thank you, the M&M soap sounds excellent, might have to try it. I had M&M shave with Nantahala Kodiak base and Vector Ti yesterday, all I can say is I was left speechless-wow. M&M should be ranked way higher, I agree. Per your recommendation, I added to the den M&M BDLM 3, what a scent. Thanks Chris! Have A Great Superbowl Weekend :)

"smooth as silk" is a good way to describe the Overlander experience! B plate feel, D plate efficiency is the general consensus but it is GOATlander! I gotta get some M&M

I think all my M&M is Klondike, but honestly I like Tallow, Vegan, or whatever all the same if the soap is a good soap. Scent is far more important to me. Enjoy the weekend.

Nice! From what I'm hearing the Overlander sounds a lot like PAA's Meta4, smooth and deceptively efficient. I'll be curious what the new handle will look like. I'll put it on the list, but I've picked a few too many lately so it could be a while. Chicken, duck, otter, whale, seal, grizzly-lol! I'm sure they are all so very close after refining that any would be great. I'll definitely have to get some M&M soap and check it out. They do have a number of scents that are right up my alley.

I don't think your in the minority about enjoying the Aon base. I know plenty of shavers who like it including myself. I just think most people like the Kodiak base more.

Great shave. Just a little fyi, that soap name is pronounced gayl hero in English, or gayl loach as in roach but with an L instead of an R in its native form.

The Overlander is deceptive as to how efficient it performs as it's so comfortable. I like it but I recently switched the SB-B plate to an SB-C on one of my Christopher Bradley razors and I really enjoy it too. I'd say the SB-B is close to the smooth feel of the Overlander without any irritation or alum burn, at least for me. I don't think you can go wrong with any Karve products.

I am a cushion believer. You add to much water to a soap and thin it down to much and it doesn’t provide enough protection. Then I get a little irritation and cuts.

I can undertstant that. That said, I don't think soap affords protection apart from allowing the blade to glide. The protection is your hands and what's between your ears:) If you do something wrong with a razor, there's no amount of soap that will protect you.
