you analyzed the most deep and powerful song ever in techno... it does have a message and we all are touched by that i believe.. this is a next level song :)
Amazing format! Not making music, but this is one of my favorite songs and it was super interesting to get a deeper look into it. Sub deserved! You should defo continue this format
Between Ipotocaticac's "Le Grand Accelerateur" and "Machine Vs Wild," and KASST's " Hell on Earth" you've basically listed off my all-time favorite tracks that give me goosebumps every single time I listen to them without fail. Hell on Earth is nothing short of worship music to me.
Wow that was an amazing breakdown of such a great track! 5:30 I love this, "going from happy to melancholic", I've never heard it being described like that and it's one of my favourite harmonic styles but never knew how to describe it.
You should know background of this track as well to fully understand it, as they said they produced this track in 2 days after a very emotional gig in KHIDI, this is for sure a massive track and thank you for such an explanation.
Yeah, I find it hard myself! I get lost in thought, stop paying attention, or don't see the forest for the trees, as they say :D so this exercise helps a lot!
I was just randomly going through Kas:st videos and checked this one, okay? And seen Hell on Earth is analyzed made me felt like attacked. This is sacred song for most of us. I hope you don't get me wrong, I appreciate your work with all respect. It just felt very wrong very deep in my heart.
Absolutely new to this, like it how you atomized the track into nano particles. Usually I just listen to music but this way makes it really interesting. Very nice and informative video. Greetings from Germany, stay safe !
Thank you for being so inspiring! I have a classical formation and didn't where to start. Your content is exactly what I needed, clear and structured, thank you!
great video, going to implement that form to analyse tracks. Thank you! Would love to see you break down, or even better make a similar track from Gijensu called Year 5050
I remember the moment I realised I loved techno (not the specific genre referred to here, but as a broader sense to collect all subgenres/variations). I was 8 years old and heard Here's Johnny for the first time on Australian national radio, and it blew my mind, but I remember intuitively picking up the progression of multiple layers being introduced over time, taken out, and being brought all back at once. I felt like I'd picked up on something other people hadn't. There are people out there who can't stand any techno/edm and I think a lot of this has to do with their inability (or reluctance) to give the music time to progress, fall and rise, and they just hear 8 bars and go ""its just repeating itself" etc. I've learned to enjoy this process in so many different styles now that it's a thrill finding the nuance elements that go into song that seemingly sounds all like one piece.
this song has feel reminds me of my teens drugs beers partys it was good but yes now the world is torn that is a superior track the vocals i have heard in hardstyle before.
What a great song to analyze. Such a simple track, yet powerful! Thank you for taking the time and sharing this awesome analysis! P.S. The angry man message is in fact a quote from an all-time favorite film of mine *Network (1976)* _Extremely relevant to the entire message behind the song, and the on-going dilemma we continue to face today..._
Great video, amazing track. Would love to see a tutorial on how to make this kind of brass pad. It feels so immersive and wide, guess it got a lot of movement or chorus?
Thank you Oscar. Anyone: that "splash" - is it basically a fast attack, fast release pink noise stab? My understanding of a splash (those little physical cymbals) is with a noticeably longer release tail. Just curious how people describe these elements so I can better communicate to other musicians.
Great video! Really changes perception of the track Is it possible for You to make an analysis of one of Rene Wise tracks? Especially those heavier groovy stuff like "Changa" or "Raptors"
Think you could do a Shpongle track? Some can be sample-heavy, but the modulation can be wild. In a single listen I can follow along "okay, this waveform, that filter, this synth, etc." And then I can end up with just "what?" XD Even some Tipper tracks would be great too. Though he does walkthroughs of some of his tracks, it'd be nice to hear your take.
