Hello,thanks. I don't get what is the difference between using the rescue disk and just installing kaspersky antivirus and run the scan after putting the activation code? Thanks waiting. And if I am installing kaspersky from the cd should I remove the cd before restart as it took me to a black screen and had to hard boot and then I found it took me to rescue disk and so I removed the cd. But don't know if that was correct or not I just put tje activation key but still wondering. And is there such a thing as an antivirus could be virused by a strong a virus on a laptop and not work properly? Does this mean we have to get a new one and can't use the license for the rest of devices? One more thing when I install from cd should I connect internet as we reinstalled the windows and didn't touch the partition we know has a virus and wanna install the antivirus to clean it. Waiting thx

How about Emsisoft Emergency kit do you think it would have done a good job.

One problem you might have had with the USB installation was needing to go from EFI back to BIOS (CSM) in the system firmware. Or maybe even vice-versa. But since this is a Windows 8 system, I assume it was installed with EFI. My Hirens Boot USB is just like that. The media creator that I used boots only in CSM mode. Most optical media installation/live environment discs seem to be BIOS *and* EFI capable after creation, but USB sticks are touch and go on that.

just a heads up the utility program was moved from main page, you must click the link usb and it will open a 2nd page where a couple listings down with mention the utility tool, and you need to go into that page to download it. Or atleast it was that way for me took me a few to find the utility tool.

Scan never gets passed around 9%. The Rescue Disk window closes down on its own. Please help !!
