I have a dream. Kate headlining Glastonbury. It would be immense. The younger generation now know who she is. She’s now looked on as a mysterious, mythical being similar to Bowie in his latter years. I bet she’s been approached. She’s one of the lasting great stars
Thanks for appreciating her talent. I am of her generation...similar age. I think her vision and her talent is what the all generations appreciate . Keep appreciating her brilliant talent...her brilluant performance and her hypnotic music .. i hope it inspirises genarations to come . 💕
@@robyourtime I actually drive to work near her village where she lives. Apparently she pops in to the local shop. An ex-work colleague whose family were stinking rich went to a party in the 90s and she was there. Think Dave Gilmour was there. Too much for my mind that would be!
I’ve read some “digs” like “What’s wrong with the audience?” “Why aren’t people dancing around?” and so on. First, I’ve danced to Kate’s music since I first saw her on tv, in the US, in 1978. Second, I traveled from the U.S. to see one of these 2014 shows. We were only in the first act, of 3 and encores, when she sang RUTH. We had no idea what was yet to come. Frankly, we were stunned and in awe. We were RIVETED on Kate Bush and HER dancing and movement, not to mention the stage craft that was going on around her. You don’t jig about and “get into yourself” for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, experience, extraordinary and fantastic mystery… We were transfixed because we knew we would probably never see it again. For the most part, everyone complied with Kate’s wish that we not watch the show through our phones, so NO PICS for a lot of us. And I’m going to go into a dance and rudely distract the people around me from their experience of Kate? Trust me: we were all holding back but for some things in life, you don’t “let yourself go.” You let the object of your senses let itself go, take it in to your heart and mind, and come away from it truly moved and transformed, if only ever so slightly. It wasn’t Glastonbury! 😂❤
American as well that traveled to see the concert in 2014 and I agree with everything that you said. I can remember being exhausted after the first act because I was overwhelmed with emotion. I could not believe we were there, in London, seeing Kate Bush!My dreams had come true. I made lifelong friends at that concert and we still keep in touch today. No one truly understands the experience unless they were there. It’s also taught me not to pull my cell phone out concerts it really taught me to be in the moment. Secretly, I’m glad some people broke the rules and we get a little glimpse of the concert every now and then but forever in my mind and heart.
Tricky thing about a dvd is she refused to let cameras on the stage or close to it because she didn’t want to ruin the experience for the fans who bought tickets. I imagine that now she wouldn’t want to release an “imperfect” dvd.
Seeing Kate was the best night of my life. When this song came on I cried. It was like a religious experience! Lol!! I was just overwhelmed with emotion. To listen to her music for decades & there she was , singing infront of me! Awesome experience!
I was there . Flew from Texas to see the 2014 concert. It was a dream come true. I could not believe that we were in London, seeing Kate Bush! She’s a reason why I became an artist and performer. I cannot believe I was there seeing her in concert. I made lifelong friends there with other fans and I’ll never forget it.highlight of my life!
I was very privileged to be there. I don't do god but it was an out-of-body experience, I felt I had died and gone to heaven. Glorious. Best gig I have been to since 1974 :)
I was there, what an honour, the love for her in the room nearly blew the roof off, an atmosphere so unlike any other gig I've been to, just the audience willing her on and full of love for Kate, amazing!
i was in the third row from the front....the out pouring of love towards this phenomenal woman from the audience was cathartic. Utterly unforgettable. Very visceral and communal.
I was there ❤ and I'm so happy this has been uploaded. The night I saw her, Madonna, Stevie Nicks and George Michael were in attendance. Says a lot about the respect in which Kate is held.
I will never forget the sheer emotion of seeing Kate live . I have been privileged to watch a genius at work in front of my very eyes . Kate Bush is simply the best female singer/songwriter/performer of all time .
It’s great to see this clip on RU-vid but I was there and the clip doesn’t do the concert anything like justice - I’ve a feeling she might not have released a DVD if the sound didn’t appear good enough as I thought she was brilliant on the night I went, but none of the short clips I have seen have have that good a sound, and I’ve a feeling a video recording probably wouldn’t capture the theatrics as she would have wanted it portrayed - don’t get me wrong, I too would like to have a DVD. The concert was that good - my wife wasn’t a Kate fan but she absolutely loved it!
@@tonyw60334 I'd imagine every night was recorded. How many was there? 22? I doubt audio and video is the reason she didn't release a DVD. Maybe she plans on releasing it in the future. She's obviously very wealthy. I don't think money was a factor either.
@@DudeSilad I would imagine money definitely isn’t a factor in any of the work she does - I think she made her money way back after her first couple of albums and initial concert tours and what she does it what she herself wants to do which is brilliant. I thought I saw a couple of cameras taking up a couple of seats when I was at one her concerts 30th August but I’m guessing there must have been some technical reason she wasn’t happy with not to release the DVD as she is a perfectionist and did release a video of her 1979 concert.
@@DudeSilad Only 2 of the concerts were officially video recorded. I don't know for audio (I wonder how many of the shows were used to produce the album). As for bootleg recordings, almost every show was audio recorded and these recordings were available on the Internet shortly after the shows. I have a recording of the very night I was attending.
I’m just so blessed that I grew up when Kate Bush was at the peak of her success, she was the soundtrack of my youth, from the first time seeing her on Top of the Pops in 1978 with Wuthering Heights, when I hear her I feel young again 🌱
Wuthering Heights was probably the first music I danced to. I'm always reminded that when the video came on I'd be in front of the TV copying Kate with my arms waving around and saying "wothering" lol. I was only 2 but I've been a Kate Bush fan ever since. Her music is magic.
well, nobody really does and lots of this was flat. But she is great.. and a huge hero. Just reality. out of tune at times. it is one of the reasons she did not like to play out.
Her beautiful voice has barely changed since the 80s! It’s matured a little but it still gives me so many chills. Love the lower pitch. This song just unlocks so much emotions. It fit perfectly in Stranger Things 4! Max’s song ❤️❤️❤️
I saw her on this tour and I’ve never been so moved by anything before - and I wasn’t even a Bush fan! She is totally betwitching, healing and full of love. TRANSENDENTAL.
"I saw her on this tour and I’ve never been so moved by anything before - and I wasn’t even a Bush fan!" How many millions of people are going to be triggered by this, I wonder.
It still annoys me that as a fan we cannot see this concert on Blu-ray. I had absolutely no chance of getting a ticket to one of her shows (all 10 shows were sold out in minutes), let alone living Down Under. PLEASE, PLEASE can Kate release Before The Dawn so that the millions of fans who couldn’t be there at least experience what those who did attend. 🙏🤞🎶🎸😎
That audience might as well have been struck by lightning, unbelievably lucky...please tour again, Kate! The world needs to hear this woman's voice again.
The devastating feeling of not being able to get a ticket remains with me. Kates fans know and feel the love, the mystery and the magic. What an incredible woman she is ❤
The experience of seeing kate live was just incredible. I couldn't believe how small she was, yet she exuded such emanations of perfect talent. . .she had an aura of incredible energy about her. I've never experienced anything quite like it.
I was at the opening night!! One of the best concerts ever - and I've been to a LOT of gigs Would love to see the film they did of this - it remains unrealised.
How is the crowd not moving? I would be singing and dancing along... a life long dream would come true. Let's exchange the experience xxx love kate bush forever, an inspiration to so many ❤️
Maybe the audience members wanted to hear Kate Bush singing and watch her moving, and not have that wonderful experience they had been so looking forward to for so many years ruined by hearing their own voices and those of other audience members instead. There are other times and places for 'Kate karaoke'. It was all about Kate, not all about them. They knew that and they respected and honoured that.
No, her voice was definitely worse and it could be clearly heard during the concert. But she still managed to perform the songs as they should be performed.
Schade das sie nicht mehr auf Tour geht jedes Konzert wäre ausverkauft ❗❗❗.. auch hier in Deutschland.. 😪.. Eine absolute ausnahmekünstlerin 🫶🤩🩵👍😎.. Und HELDIN meiner Jugend in den 80' zigern.. ❤
Wonderful evening. Kate came so close to me as they carried her from the stage. Wave after Wave of music. . . Breathing her air. Brilliant. Just great.
Felt like the luckiest person when me and my mum got tickets to this show. I genuinely think about it at least once a week. Such a special moment in time
It was a big disappointment. I was a tech there and it was mostly out of tune with the backing singers doing all of the work. She should retire with her memories.
@@truthseeker7794 The back up singers' "yay-yay-yo"s doing all the work ? hahaha .... thats why you're just a tech. Sound technicians are not exactly the same level as a legendary singer who has not only sung but also produced ground breaking albums after ground breaking albums .... yah, Kate sound engineers the hell out of countless songs, what have you created ? ..... yeah, Kate Bush's expertise would cover your area of expertise and more... far more. She sounds pretty close to her original studio version here, you should get your ears checked so that you can be a better "tech", learn to be humble in front of the legend herself.... Your sense of appreciation is seriously lacking, the yayayos of the back up singers sounds a little lethargic in fact, thats my honest opinion, and I'm not saying that to spite you, its what I hear. What makes this live version great is the extra emphasis on the drum beats so kudos to the person who makes the decision to that ... I wonder who that might be .... I'm quite sure its not you but Kate herself.
Was lucky enough to get tickets to a show in 2014. Flew from Canada with a friend for the most memorable week of my life. Kate was great, the show was fabulous. I've loved her since the id-80's when "The Dreaming" came out. Her work still mesmerises me, 40 years later.
Her music is a cathartic and religious experience. I would have given anything to be there. She is a queen. She is simply the greatest. Please one more time Kate.
I remember going to this concert so vividly, The sheer shock of this song starting was incredible! i think she had played hounds of love a song or two before. I was there with my sister Lily, and she played Lily as her first song. Just incredible. So many of us cried that night watching
Ooohhh my God those songs never left me for all those years, I found them so beautiful so transcending, so haunting, so meaningful, I never stopped listening to her songs for 40 years, when my daughter was small she was making me doing the choreography of that song with her, ike in the video clip she loves Kate Bush too.
I remember being 14-15yrs old 78/79 and in last year of high school we were all into kate bush, she was one of those naturally talented artists whose music speaks for itself without any need to promote, not many of those about anymore
Going to one of these concerts in 2014 was i think,...the highlight of my life being a fan of Kate ever since 1978 and not having the chance to go to one of her original concerts. Long live Kate Bush.
Kate was so strict about recording devices at her Hammersmith performances that I only dared record a bit of the audio for cloudbusting at the second night that I went. Thanks for doing this
Superb video upload. One of the few rare performances captured. Notice how the audience remained calm and composed - taking in everything in preference to screaming like kindergarten children. Remember when these tickets when on sale - sold out within minutes. The cost alone was outrageous but a concert many of us questioned could be her last due to her rare public performances. A true iconic artist who has clearly withstood time.
I was lucky enough to be at the show on sept 17th and i have to say it was an extraordinary experience on all levels. I too was disappointed that a dvd of the show was not released. What i found interesting is we the audience were told that there will be filming on the 17th and 19th of September. So naturally we assumed she would release a dvd of the show for the millions of fans who didn't get tickets to this very rare event. Honestly i'm still in awe that i got tickets, was able to get to London and experience something very very special indeed. I agree with some of the comments about the disappointment of not having a dvd of the show. Kate really should reconsider releasing something for the fans. I bought 2 shirt, the show program and a poster at the show and i'm still yet to wear the shirts. i don't want them to ever fade. OXOX Kate is a timeless goddess and a true genius in music and im forever changed by her influence and her very presence on this earth.
I was lucky enough to see her in 2014. The visuals were amazing but it was the power and majesty of the sound that really blew me away. When she walked on to Lily the place went mental. Bucket list for me, will never forget it.
Kate is an artist that could bring me to tears if I saw her live. As a kid she is an artist I always loved but couldn’t explain. Her sound just lives in my head and I’m so grateful.
I was there and the performance was wonderful, just as I expected. I wish Kate would tour again or do another show like this. It would sell so well. Such a talented person.
Kate Bush Inspiration für eine ganze Generation! Musik mit Herz und Seele.. Schade das Sie sich so rah macht.. Danke fürs teilen, danke kate Bush der Frank aus BERLIN..
sadly it was and probably will be the last live gigs she will ever play......... but ive got tickets to see the wonderful " Cloudbusting - The Music Of Kate Bush " as close as anyone will get now to a live Kate Bush concert
This is as fresh and relevant as the day it was released, great music lives forever. I do so enjoy when the kids excitedly want to introduce you to music you was into before they were born, lol! Such a joy sharing music. 😁👍👍👍👊✌️.
Bless you for posting this! I remember hearing about her residency in London and damn, how i wished she could come to the states. I have been looking for a live version of this song from Before the Dawn. This song was one of my favorites growing up in Texas in the 80s. I am glad that "new" fans are getting to experience the talent that is Kate Bush!
It is my understanding that Kate is against the official release of the DVD because it didn't live up to her expectations and demands. She has always been highly self-critical about her productions. A real shame because no live footage exists of 'Cloudbusting' which will, forever, be my favorite Kate Bush song. At least, I can't find it anywhere besides a copy by some Kate Bush cover band. I have heard that Cloudbusting is, actually, part of this DVD, but I am not 100% sure.
One of my biggest regrets is never seeing Kate, Adam Ant or Prince live with my mom before she passed away. I'm making it an aim to see the remaining two of the three.
Could also be the fact that she's a very private person. So all the recent attention nahhhhhh is not good. So there treasure these moments of pleasure. Outstanding lady really is.
That is a very subdued audience! The night I went, the whole theatre was on its feet the second the intro to Lily began. And when Kate appeared, leading the band on, it just erupted. Stunning beyond words.
