A couple years ago, I had a male manager who acted resentful whenever the women in the office used their vacation time. He was single with no children, but the two ladies were married with children, and they had almost perfect attendance throughout the year. He, though, would take almost every Friday off and random mini and full vacations throughout the year. By the way, they had to do his work and their own while he was away, but he would hire a temp to come in to fill in whenever one of them was on vacation.

Some people on here really thinks he was being serious about those attitudes on a national morning show!!! He was just giving her shit. Making fun on morning shows typically happens once they get through the heavier stuff of the day. He is the host and she's the co-host so maybe that's why she didn't snap-back as hard in a joking way. However, I bet when she became host and Lauer co-host, none of that kind stuff was said. 😆😆😆

I never watched all of that TV nonsense back in the 1990's, because, well... I just had stopped watching TV altogether. But even in the context of 1991, Bryant Gumble is an ass. It's hard for me to believe that this was normal out on the TV screen, when by that time almost everyone I know had moved on past that kind of junk. Shame on Gumble; I hope Couric moved on to outshine him, and recovered gracefully from this kind of sexist abuse.

I honestly love the tone here. I don't think Bryant is being an ass..they remind me of long time friends just goofing around. Everything seems very natrual here. Not scripted etc..I prefer it to the way the morning shows are nowadays.
