With Giraffe left in charge of the channel whilst I sun myself in foreign climbs, he has chosen this video. A bike that even at 6ft 2in I felt right at home on. When it is was first launched in the UK, Orwell’s thought of having one of the first two available as a demonstrator but due to high demand and low availability decided to sell both to waiting customers . This meant that I had to wait until this very low mileage example came in as a used bike. It didn’t disappoint.

Morning Mr TAYM. Now we are talking. I love in-line four cylinder 400’s. I embarrassed a few big bikes in the twisties when I had my Honda CB400 Super Four. High revving, with a race can = shear bliss 😈. There has been a rumour going round on t’internet, that Kawasaki might be bringing out an upright retro based on the mechanicals of this, looking similar to the 900RS…….I would seriously be tempted with that. Did you know that these are raced in a series for the youngsters in BSB. A great watch ! Nice review 👍

Mate, if you think that bike sounds marvelous keeping the revs down at 4 or 5,000 RPM, you ain't heard nothing yet. When that inline 4-cylinder motor screams to 16,000 RPM it's Sonic Nirvana. It's a real shame you couldn't rev it out. Wonderfull review! 👍 Such a joy to watch. Going to get this one as my 3th bike. Testride last Saturday was clear for me :-) loved it. Got a royal enfield conti gt for cruising along and a Benelli trk 702x for longer rides with the wife. Think the zx4rr will be a nice fun bike to compliment the rest and having fun with.

Months later and I still come and watch you. I can't legally ride zx4rr or zx6r (3 years in Australia have to ride A2 or Learners So biggest legal is ninja 650 but not zx4. I thought it was 3mths 🤬) and I got upset and advertised some of my 40th collection zx4rr zx6r and 500. Im scared of litre bikes and bigger (zx10 zx14 found in 40th but didn't have the cohanas to buy even though financially comfortable.) Ride on 500 later i calmed down and removed the ads 😅

Also Australia 2 years unlimited km warranty (if you get Kawasaki to service @ 1000, 12,000 etc) 1 year warranty if you decide to do yourself

$10,099 for the 2024 NINJA® ZX™-4RR KRT EDITION ABS. $10,195 for the 2024 Triumph STREET TRIPLE 765 R . I'm not sure what Kawasaki is thinking. This 400 is extremely "niche". Unless you're really, really, REALLY into owning a small displacement 4-cylinder sport bike, who is going to buy it?

Why in the world would someone buy that motorcycle at such a high price for a 400cc bike before doing his research and demoing the bike, put on 350 miles and then trade it in or sell it?? That's crazy, and a good way to lose lots of money. I once did that when buying a car sight unseen, because no dealers would demo the car because it was limited production, and I ended up selling it after 1 month but I made over $8,000, so it ended well for me. Lesson Learned, from that day forward I've never bought any vehicle without first demoing it.

Figures aren’t that dissimilar to the NS400R I had nearly 40 years ago and it was lighter. Lot less traffic and speed enforcement then too. We had it good didn’t we 😊👍

I just love my 2023 ZX4RR. I ride it a lot. It is a great second bike that you will ride most of the time, just for the fun factor.

AWESOME BROTHER AND GOOD TO SEE YOU ENJOYING YOURSELF! I am a tad bit envious of you watching whilst extremely happy for you at the same time. Australia is 75hp 14500 limited $15000 Aud. Literally mine arrived last week at the dealership (days ago Saturday to be exact) and they had a zx6r in 40th also in the order (no surprise what happened next🎉). Now im living my dreams and added the 500 40th also. You live once and you can't take the $$ with you so enjoy

192nd. A proper pocket rocket😊. Not pocket money though 😮 Those gear changes come thick and fast like an F1 car😅 I can remember when 400 fours were made by most of the big manufacturers. I think they fell out of favour when 600 sports bikes came along. Then, they too fell out of favour. A small resurgence of 400's makes more sense, though on today's roads and you're more likely to be able to "exercise" them effectively these days than their bigger brothers. Handling? When you've ridden loads of bikes, you get enough of a feeling without having to fully exploit every inch of the tyre 😊. (Opens him up finally), "Ugh - roadworks" 😂😂

I bought one from new, and it's a fabulous bike, I ride it for fun and ride it to work... I have another bike too a Triumph Street Triple which is MUCH faster. But I really do enjoy riding it.

Z400J was my first proper bike all those years ago. Claimed power was 40bhp - how things have come on! This is the most beautiful bike I've seen in a long time, really fabulous. And the motor seems incredibly tractable for a high revving four, judging by the very low revs you were riding at. But it certainly is expensive for the capacity.

What a beautiful little bike .my mate had a Honda car rr gull arm back in the late 90s and it was sublime beautifully built and an absolute hoot to ride sort of a four stroke equivalent to an Suzuki rgv ,on the right road would see off most of the bigger bikes to the accompaniment of a Gp sound track. Awesome and so much fun .Nice one Mr TAYM.

Great review Mr TAYM. A bike most of us wouldn't consider . Taste must be sherbert dip, the smell maybe a summer smell like a patch of flowering stinging nettles and It looks like an ageless sportsbike. Kawasaki don't make bad bikes. Strange times though, when a bike like this cannot be used to it's full potential due to ever restricting speed limits. How would it compare to a 350 LC Yamaha?

WingsGeo in US got one of these & already put pipe on it & sounds magnificent & revs out to 16000rpm & 77hp. HE rings it out & goes hard. Check HIM out got a Guzzi V100 with pipe & tune & a BMW M sportsbike which is apesh#t.

Well TAYM I have to echo Mr Hughes comment her what a beauty I would love to have one in the garage with a smaller can on as you say it would be the perfect toy for when one feels that bit naughty and if there were to be an RS version how good would that be more power to Kawasaki for bringing this little rocket ship out against todays trend for twins "FABULOUS "😉👌👍

Morning taym that’s a beautiful little bike if I had a 17 year old son and he was on a 125 I’d get him to get his test done then stay on 125 for the road till he was 18 but one of those strip it into a track bike and give him a year of track days to understand how a bike rides handles set a bike up so he becomes a good rider then he should have some bike training on the road and eventually be Adam good rider fast but safe like the police are because they are some of the best riders on the road as you would know but that is a nice little bike to really learn your skills on I would say take care

Finally got my engine broken in this weekend so I opened it up! What a great bike! Im very impressed with how much power the little 400 puts out. The sound is phenomenal with Yoshimura exhaust!

It's the best sounding bike out there. The 40th anniversary colour scheme is irresistible and reminded me of the 90's (I was too young to ride seeing older brothers flying around). I now own 500 zx4rr zx6r all 40th anniversary and next is 25 650 in KRT as I like the green

@@TAYMI know I'm very fortunate. Being honest my father put me in a good financial position years ago when he passed so it has definitely changed the life of my family and mine. I'm not going to make out I got here by myself without any help. Now we can afford to live in better suburbs and obviously have fun with toys. (6yr daughter on tc50 lol. ). Obviously I am living my dreams. ❤ From me and family in Australia

Probably "the most fun you can have with your clothes on". :D Back in the day I had a red ZXR750 H1 and later a ZXR750 M1 (the homologation model with single seat, flat side carbs and close ratio gearbox) in similar colours to that only red where that is blue. Great bikes which gave me great memories.
