I like Russians and I like Russia. Some day, perhaps, I will get an opportunity to ride there. Who knows? But, if not, there are so many wonderful videos by experienced riders from all over the planet so, if one can't go in person, others, such as Mister Jibs will fill the void. Thanks for this post. I enjoyed your review and note how the bike has evolved from 2013 to my bike; which is the 2021 smoky grey with red accents model and looks fantastic. Kawasaki did a great job designing this excellent bike. To those of you contemplating a first bike or your next one, get a Versys 650 and see for yourself. Just don't drop it on your foot without proper boots on and even then, it's not a light weight motorcycle. Two years later my left foot still hurts. But, that is what happens if you fall in the wrong way on the wrong surface and can't jump free. Ah, well, if one is afraid of a little hurt or an odd scar, one is not living fully. Life is precarious at best. Might as well have some fun 'out there' in our 'dangerous' world. A great way to do that is on the back of a good motorcycle.

I appreciate a review from someone that’s has actually pushed the bike past it’s limits in all scenarios and got some real mileage on the bike. You can’t learn anything useful from press launches spending an afternoon on the bike. Excellent review.

Perfect video. When you are passing a lot of useful information, your language doesn't matter. I haven''t seen better review of Versys, than yours. I bought Versys (same model, but without ABS) about 2 months ago. Engine is not so smooth but, as you mention, torque gives a lot of fun. Good riding position, I have a 195 cm and same wind screen and it works perfectly. I need to experiment a bit with suspension, right now I'm using default setup. I also notice same as you that pipe below airbox is a bit wet, rest is clean and dry. Gearbox needs a bit more experience, than in other bikes, to change gears without clicks but its possible get it working smooth, except N->1 ;) Your skills are amazing, real urban/terrain explorer! I wait for more videos, especially for review after 100kkm!;) Best regards from Poland;)
Thank you for your comprehensive and honest viewpoint on your experience with the Kawasaki Versa 650 motorcycle. It is a bike that I have recently begun to think seriously about. I am a returning rider after 45 years and will be starting off a bit easy but am looking to be able to handle touring and occasional off road riding in addition to city road rides. Best wishes.
Excellent review!! In fact, I have not seen any review that comes even close to yours in terms of relevance of information. I just sold my V Strom 650 and I’ll be replacing it with either another V Strom 650 or Versys 650. Tough decision!

Excellent Review on the 650 Versey. After 36 years of riding 1000cc+ 4 cylinder street bikes, riding the 650 is like riding a Swiss Army knife. The bike isn't great at anything, but it's good at most things. I prefer to use the bike on twisty secondary roads and rough country lanes and dirt roads. Thanks for a very in depth review. Excellent camera work, I really enjoyed the low angle view of the front wheel.

the amount of information is incredible! I love that russians are never scared to show everything and each situation you can get in! I have just started my driving license for motorbikes, and im considering to buy one of these models - Kawasaki Versus, Honda Transalp 600/650, Yamaha Tenere 660, i love the Honda Transalp, but its much older bike, the lack of ABS or 6-th gear is also not pleasing, and since in newbie i dont think i will jump on a 10,000km adventure with some medium to moderate offroad, but i wish to use the bike as a daily comuter to work and also on my rest days to go traveling around and explore! Thank you for the work you put in on this video. I just purchased a new 2020 650 LT, which I bought based solely on the reviews, having never actually ridden it yet. This video validated my choice in a way no other has. My original choice was a Tenere 700, but they are unavailable here until sometime in June. I definitely plan to do some light off-roading, though obviously nothing like what the Tenere is capable of. Glad to see it will handle some of the situations I had in mind. Need to get new tires for sure. As others have said, your English is very good, and I'm sure it's even better now after a couple more years of practice. Good work!

If I'm to choose one bike to own it would be versys 650..its perfect for me. Cheap to maintain, very reliable and durable. Its tough as nail and can almost get you everywhere.. Gas consumption is frugal, power is decent and ergonomics is fantastic. I can ride this beauty all day long.. Ride safe always

Hiya you did very well with English, very good overview of this bike, just bought my 4th one, this bike is probably the best bike ever built, I've had many bikes and always return to the versys, just wish they had a little lower seat and a bit lighter in weight... But excellent overall.
Man, that was exactly the review I needed! I'm looking to buy my first adventure bike and Versys is a cheap one, so I needed some opinions on how it does on and off road and you completely covered that!
What a stellar review that was! Most people read out Manufacturer Specs that mean nothing. We need to somehow correlate specs to real life riding and no one could have done it better than you. Please review other motorcycles if it's possible and subject them to the same battery of tests. That cliff hangar part on the narrow trail was scary as hell. PS: Your English is just fine!
Hi jibs , can you believe it or not 2 hours ago I both the same versys as you have . Second hand 2010 and 30000 km. All the same white with black. So youre video was VERRY yusefull for me ! You maded a verry good review and shared with us 40000 kilometers of expierience. It was verry helpfull for now and for the future. Youre englisch was good enough for me to understand you. So thanks a lot for sharing youre experience from the versys with us. This was much more then a average vid !!
Excellent! I owned one of these fine motorcycles for almost 3 years. It was one of my all-time favourites. If anyone is contemplating buying a 650 Versys they should watch this video first. This is a very good and accurate description of the bike and its capabilities.
Honestly amazing video, even 4 years later. I have been looking in to purchase this as my first actual motorcycle. I had purchased the CSC TT250 as a starter, and 2 years for owning, 3 months of legal road riding (just got my license at age 18), it leaves me wanting more. Thanks for this review. Me too, nothing wrong with your English, very well put together. I rode your version of the versys a long time back when I owned a Varadero. Thé Varadero was obviously a quicker bike, but not in the real world, where the versys lacked a bit of grunt but kept up non the less. Thinking of getting one now, especially as I have already ridden one and know you are right. Good bike, great review.
Excellent job, English is a 2nd language for me as well and I understood you perfectly! I'm very impressed with the way you handle the Versys you obviously have a lot of skill with it. I've just purchased my first versys 650 (2020 model), I traded in my Bandit 1250 for it :) I'm also very impressed that there were so few breakages and problems even though you are not exactly carefull with it ;) great video!

Great review ! Very comprehensive ! I've had mine for 4 years now , seat can be improved by using a small sheepskin , I replaced the standard footpegs for Puig wide ones for comfort, and ditched the original exhaust for a scorpion can which made it lighter and sounds better ! Hope you keep enjoying it !

Very very very good job 👍👍👍👍 I own a 2007 versus, made 70000km on and found this bike very efficient...and now 2023 many tires are available...(Shinko Coreen tires) and some time I put a rear tire in front to get the good size... (Juste reverse the way it turn)... Thank you for all the video
Excellent job. Most reviewers shy away from testing this particular motorcycle off road in any great detail. You proved to me that this motorbike is completely capable. Good to have torque available at lower rpm, good for fuel economy and daily use in the city. The message I get from your video is that Versys is a good machine and I am glad it is working for you. Moscow, nice, the "corkscrew" building at 13:17 gives it away. Zhivopisny Bridge at the beginning was our other good clue. Best wishes from Vancouver, Canada.
