OK ALL - so here's the deal! This video was recorded using the same equipment that we used on the super-middleweight (and other tests) whilst we were in Sicily late last year. Believe it or not we actually HAVE purchased brand, new RODE mics BUT at the time of recording we only had smaller ZOOM audio devices to capture into. The entire sound problem is due to a faulty XLR-t-3.5mm set of converter cables that seem to have borked our recordings and made it impossible for us to create a decent 'dual-mono' output for iOS devices (and others) that only have ONE speaker and can't cope with the 'squeezing' of our audio. The problem here is that the only FIX we have for these devices is to duplicate a single channel and then artificially move it to the opposite channel (so that we have one LEFT channel and one RIGHT channel from the same source). But of course, this causes a 'phasing' issue with people who have decent, surround-sound or multi-channel set-ups. So we had a choice, either make it work for the devices that the majority of our traffic and views are made through, make it work for the audiophiles and those with slightly more expensive/better set-ups, or just not post any videos that we recorded on this faulty set-up. We (or rather I, Steve) made the choice to go with the largest, common, denominator. We've identified the issue, burnt the faulty cables during a huge ceremony involving dancing and fancy headgear, and have now purchased a decent set of TASCAM recorders to ensure this doesn't happen again. BUT be warned - we have at least THREE other videos that are scheduled over the coming month that have been recorded on this faulty set-up. I'm sorry, but these are going to be made live. The solution for now is to: a) listen on a device with two, decent speakers. b) use headphones, c) Be patient and know that we're doing our best. But please, can I ask one more thing? We produce this channel out of love for motorcycles, our jobs and for support of Motorcyclenews.com. We are a tiny (and I mean *tiny* team) and bust our guts every week to provide at least one, quality video a week. I know it's frustrating for you when things don't always work as you would like, but imagine what it's like for us when we have to read comments about how crap we are and how we should all be fired? :/ We're doing the best that we can within the constraints that we have... I am a professional filmmaker who lives in Australia and I watch all your videos. Generally I like your camera work and I think Michael Neeves is a great presenter. Chad too for that matter. I have to say though I watch almost all of your uploads via my mobile device and rarely on anything else. As an avid motorcycle rider (on public roads) since 1998, I appreciate the effort you all put in to make these films for our benefit. Keep them coming, because so long as you keep making them I will keep watching them.

I bought a leftover 2013 this summer for $8500 brand new at the dealership. Absolutely love it. On the street you can't use all of the power this bike has so it really doesn't matter if the new one does a little better in the 1/4 mile or on top speed anyway. I have owned an R1 (which was faster) but like the riding position of these types of bikes better. I've already gotten a speeding ticket for 81 in a 65 MPH zone on this bike and I was slowing down...put down the wheelie first :)

I turned off all the features of my Soundblaster on my win 7 system with generic stereo speakers and the audio works great. On my other system which has a AC97 sound chip with all features off, it sounded weird, but It has a pair of Logitech speakers. I set the speakers to stereo and no surround sound. This fix the audio issue. Hope that helps you guys out!

My apologies for saying your audio folks should be fired. I am corrected and I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a faulty wire and that the audio team is more than capable of doing its job. Now fix the issues and get this show on the road. I think that the demographic of youtube watchers is slowly moving towards mobile devices that use android and iOS. Great video content if the audio was fixed for those viewers. I will stay subbed for atleast another month to see if everything is sorted out. I would really enjoy this channel if you guys can fix the audio problems.

I still reckon the CB1000R is a better bike everywhere except power. And the heft of this bike isn't so hooligan friendly either. Kawasaki bikes always looked american in styling to me... Like it came out of an action movie or something. Yamaha being most Italian inspired and Honda and Suzuki VERY JAPANESE LOL

Every video these guys have put out lately has terrible audio. I can't hear anything he say after the music starts. They need to fix this. There used to be a time when I looked forward to MCN reviews.

Great video guys. For me the audio was just fine on my Sony Duo 11. Anyway, while ergonomics and overall ride look great; the bike itself looks hideous. It looks like a joke of a motorcycle. I have no idea how that design made it past management in Kawasaki. Yeah it is that terrible.. Wow.. SMHO..

i love the Kawasaki, but i don't think it'll hold its ground against the KTM or the new S1000R... just not powerful enough and not fancy electronics. Definitely not the best in its class You'll have to really be a Kwak fan to buy it, or if money is an issue.

So the audio is not 100% but I have heard a lot worse so maybe those that are compulsive complainers should take their head out if their arse and maybe they will hear it.
