The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Brooklyn Nets over the weekend in overtime of Game 7, effectively ending the Nets' season and moving on the Eastern Conference Finals. Despite a strong performance from Kevin Durant, who scored 48 points and had 9 rebounds and 6 assists, Giannis Antetokounmpo had an answer for him with 40 points of his own and 13 rebounds. Nick Wright and Chris Broussard discuss the Nets' playoff run, and Nick names one big reason why the Nets were unsuccessful in putting away the Bucks.

@@jal740 this,, I was anti Lebron back in 2015 then he lost 2 stars, I was like im gonna root for the underdog w/c is CLE, but they Lost. So next year it happened again, my OKC got trashed by GSW on game 7 so it automatically puts me to want Lebron to win. I was so glad lebron got his CLE title back then, but then KD had to move to GSW. Automatically I became a GSW fan. In reality I am a fan of player, this time around its KD 6 yrs+ now before it was KOBE.

I don't know about that. But some analysts, or at least most of them wrote off the Lakers because of injuries, also the Nuggets because of injuries. They also sorta wrote off Philly because Embiid wasn't a 100%. The Suns are almost a lock to make it to the Finals, they're not scrubs. Sure injuries to the opposing teams really helped and they probably wouldn't make it past the 1st round if the Lakers were healthy or the second round if the Nuggets were healthy or maybe lose in the West Finals if the Clippers were healthy. But we can't really blame the healthy team. We can only blame the injuries. Sidenote: I just obviously wanted to hamfist that Suns joke.

Broussard picked the Lakers to win the west. He said the only way they don’t make it is if AD or Lebron isn’t healthy. When AD went down he said “it’s not fair to expect Lebron to carry them past Phoenix or the other teams in the west”. So he has the same energy with the Lakers as he is with the Nets. Disrespect on bucks in crazy. This was not their best series and Middleton continues to be disappointing. Giannis, for all his faults, is not being a good shooter, but he did what an MVP does and led MKE against a team who was poised to win - on the road in a 7 game series. Giannis also has the most pressure right now. Bucks has to be the favorite to win. No Lakers, Nets, Philly, etc. Giannis, all eyes on you buddy.

Middleton was not disappointing to be fair. Bucks overall played bad first two games, including Giannis who settled big time. After that K-Midd was really good. Played like an All-Star. He averaged 24 points 8 rebounds 4 assists 2 steals in 7 games.

Look K you right to a level but if Giannis going to be legendary aside from his humbleness he needs to shoot better. And I agree that Middleton is disappointing based on his ceiling but if you look at tape from both this year and last here he is the one saving them shooting wise. Holiday is a progressive bump but I think a part of him is lost. So I say Bucs potentially are super nasty but they ain't there. An injured Nets are better but coaching paid a huge factor. Injuries happen that's why u got 11 players. Ty lue, spo, and pop are the best coaches right now

The fact that lebron even is getting injured is evidence of the age man, lebron was an iron man like no other iron man. Lebron is way out of his prime, he is still easily a top 3 player in the league because when you’re half way down Everest, you’re still higher than most peaks on the planet, but his defense isn’t what it used to be, his athleticism isn’t what it used to be, and, most glaring, his health isn’t what it used to be

Bron's injury wasn't a natural injury like the groin or a common sprain a grown man tackled his ankle it don't matter if Bron was 26 or 36 he would've been injured regardless maybe you could argue he would've came back to 100% better or faster but even that is iffy cause high ankle sprains keep 25 year old RBs out for MONTHS I don't think NBA fans and analysts understand how significant of an injury that is. Guys like Skip Bayless and SAS were trying to say Bron faked the injury smh. As for his defense before injury he lead the ENTIRE LEAGUE in defensive rating and win shares, and his opponent field goal percentage was amazing not to mention he was top 3 or 5 in DPOY voting before injury and 1st in MVP athleticism is decling slightly but he's still more athletic than about 80% of the league. His health is still all time great but obviously because of age his body isn't healing the way it used to.

The Nets got what they deserved for treating the regular season and competition with the disdain that they did - you have to respect THE PROCESS. You can't put three guys together regardless of how good they are and expect them to win a 'ship first year. Tbf I think it’s safe to say that KD ain’t like that, he ain’t a leader and everyone knows that. Yeah you have to blame KD but there’s a difference imo between him and other top guys. KD has never shown in his career that he can carry a team or lead a team. I’m not trying to defend him but it’s funny how people are ragging on him for not doing what he is not able to do. Steve Nash did a horrible coaching job! Joe couldn't hit a skittle in the ocean, so he should've put Landry Shamet (whose a better defender) in the game, but he didn't! Bruce Brown should've been taken out for Nick Claxton, no way a 6'4 guard who can't shoot an outside, shot and only hitting those stupid floaters in the paint, should be in the game. Your a 6'4 guard, you should be able to shoot!!! Not only that at the end of the game, the Bucks got a few offensive rebound, one which led to a Jrue Holiday 3 pt shot. Had Claxton been in the game, u get that rebound and maybe that kd airball gets rebounded and put back, leading to a double OT.

KD is 6’ 11” and being guarded by a 6’ 5” guy. He’s catching the ball at half court and trying to score off 10 plus dribbles shooting contested shots. With any basketball IQ at all he’s catching the ball on the box turning and shooting over Tucker and there’s NOTHING he could do about it. Bird would have DESTROYED Tucker on 75 percent shooting easy and forced them to either switch assignments or double team him. Durant is skillful but doesn’t know how to play, that’s why they lost.

I can't really understand the hostility between LeBron's fan, Net's fan and Buck's fan. KD make peace with his lost to the Bucks and even praised the Buck's for playing the right way, Giannis and the Bucks happily admitted that KD is the best player in the world, Lebron tweeted to remind us to appreciate KD's greatness. Yes, Bucks won the series might be on some part , being lucky having 2 of the the big 3 of the Nets is injured, but to be world champion, injury is a sign of miss management of regular season's fitness training regime and not been able to identify a possible injury to certain player with a certain body type and with certain skills. You can be as good as KD and lebron combined, but if your star player are only available for a game or two, you are not entitled to be called the best team in the sport. Also, as a Buck's fan, deeply felt that this win is not fair for KD and I feel sad for him. For now, KD is the best player in the world, considering now that Lebron is slowly waning into his last few years of Lebron's career. For Lebron's fan, please appreciate KD while he is at his best, who knows when we will see another talent like him or Lebron, ever. Don't compare them, just appreciate. KD scores at such tremendous rate and efficiency, all the opponent is actually at his mercy, while LeBron affected game in a more cerebral way. But both is unstoppable at their peak, and both of them deserves to be at the top 5 of the greatest ever played the game.

But just for a food for thought, a die hard fan who are unconditionally supporting their team(or favorite player) is among the main reason of violent behavior, racism chant and the catalyst for unsportsmanlike conduct. While I do agree for all the hype, drama and entertaining, logical and rational observation must be maintained as most of the fans, we are all matured and a grown man and woman. If the"spice" you are referring to just to put salt into the loss of the Nets, or KD, or to undervalue the win by the Bucks, well it still up to you, but for these media so called analyst or talkshow spokesperson, they shouldn't be this biased to their favorite team when doing these shows. It creates those unwanted demand from the players, physically and mentally. I don't wanna see those players retired earlier than they should, because of those media and those hooligans pressured them into a non existent narrative which creates a physical and mental exhaustion to them.

Lakers aren’t playing because of injury…..missed me with that. KD still had James harden who is maybe the 3rd best offensive player in the league. He doesn’t get a pass. KD lost to Giannis please don’t ignore Giannis 40 and 13 in a win or go home game. KD gets a pass for losing in the 2nd round lebron gets destroyed for losing without AD in the first. Lebron been to 10 finals KD been to 4 there’s levels. KD can’t get it done like lebron when they truly have to carry their respective team. I can analyze without emotion (same reason I say China is the future and everyone needs to except it). Durant is almost cursed: 1) he starts his career with little Kobe and little Kobe basically throws away their chance to upset the Warriors similar to Kobe against the Pistons (I know you Kobe worshippers are upset) 2) He helps a team that originally vet lucky (Cleveland lost everyone but Lebron and that’s why GS won) really become the best team in basketball (regular season record doesn’t mean anything if you can’t close it out like they did) and basically gets pushed out by the fans worship of curry. Curry should have stopped that and told the fans it’s Durant’s team and he’s nothing compared to Durant. Plus, owner or GM completely dissed him after he was the finals MVP at the celebration (I said that was going to be a reason why he leaves. He pushed it aside but then his teammate disrespected him. (This guy is like the nicest superstar of all-time and his management and teammate disrespected him.) 3) Now, he’s back with 2 new Westbrook’s . When your 2 and 3 players just play isolated ball 1/2 the time, that’s the formula for doing a Lakers against the Pistons when Kobe basically did a black-Sox because he didn’t want Shaq to win MVP for a fourth consecutive finals. Durant needs to take control and demand obedience from everyone. He says and players do. Durant needs to get Lebron spirit in him (not be buddy-buddy). When I watched Nets games this year, I said if they are healthy, they probably win it, but they left a lot of team value on the table with their street ball style similar to OKC. Make me coach and I’ll bench anyone who doesn’t obey me and Durant.

People keep saying jrue holiday and Chris Middleton were terrible in the 1st half I beg to differ missing shots don't make you terrible when you're able to contribute in other ways Doing the little things the dirty work But when they had to have it when the chips were down in the 4th quarter last 5 minutes they came through Nobody respects intangibles and defense
