i have a habit called "daily log" with "Auto pop of habit log enabled". It has it's limitations; mainly short size limit and you can't use a template, but it's convenient in the sense that it's already organized for you; you don't have to enter a date etc and you easily read the log from a previous day.
Great video and it went even further into keeping a journal in TickTick than what I did when you were kind enough to give me some points via email. Again thanks and it goes to show that you really do care about your subscribers.
New subscriber here, great to see a channel dedicated for ticktick, kinda rare. I have a few insights that might help the channel and give better experience for the viewers: - Put some background music, no need to be loud, just subtle musics so it doesn't have empty spaces inbetween pauses. - Give visual cue when you're on the screen, maybe u can insert some tiny box on upper right corner of example usecases when you're using ticktick etc. Just to keep us viewers more attached when watching. Looking forward to see some of ur contents, cheers!
Hey, I appreciate you subscribing and for the constructive feedback. I've played with music in the background before - if you watch some of my older videos, I used to have it. I add some music now and again still, but may consider adding it more. Thanks!!
I’m very new to TickTick, and I’m trying to explore to see if I can make this my go-to app for everything I need. For journaling, I like one of those 5 year journals, so on the same date, I can see a list of what that date is like over the years, so on a single “page”, I might see how 2024 May 13th might be on 2025 May 13th and so on. I can’t seem to figure out how best to do it at the moment. Could you give me an idea?
Excellent video Joshua! I do my structure very similar to yours, except I create a folder for the year and then create a list for each month. Then I section the months within the folder. This way I can expand or collapse any months notes I want to review, without having to go back and forth clicking on each months list in order to view. I have the entire year ready to view without it being too long due t the sectioning expand/collapse feature. Hope that makes sense.
OK, so are you using a single list for the whole year? Then you create a Section within that list for each month? That sounds like a another good approach, especially since you can quickly get to the other months' entries without going to another list.
I use this method too. Folder for my journal, list for the year then a section for each month, the daily notes inside relevant month. As I journal in financial years, I use M01-Apr as section titles and daily notes MM-DD-Day. Then I sort by title in the list and I can tell the Year of a journal entry when searching for specific entries. If TickTick had backlinks, it could be a very cost effective PKM/second brain. In fact, with linked notes, it’s pretty much there already, it’s just the searching and extracting might be limited.
I can't remember seeing a video on making templates. Did I miss it? If not, is it in the near future? I'm using a notebook for my daily not-so-daily journal but seeing how easy it would be to include this in TickTick I'm going to reconsider before I buy my new notebook.
