Yes what we do in private I think means more. Cause we are celebrating to people but to G'd. Thank you

To me is the intention of our heart that counts. Over the years we learned and we are doing more of His way.

I appreciate this answer, but the bread and the wine have little to do with Shabbat. What matters is the sanctifying of the day, to remember what awesome things that the Lord has done for you and for His people on that day. Sometimes you dont have bread and wine, or candles, but that's not what Shabbat is about.

Thank you Joshua. I appreciate your comment and agree. I'm alone on Shabbat in a house with three other family members and found this site.

Can any one show me a verse in the Scriptures that teaches lighting candles on Shabbat, or the Kiddish

Always been on, always will and don't really celebrate Sabbath in a congregation anymore since single men get shamed quite a bit.I have seen too much hypocrisy in congregations I have been to, so I just keep as best I can alone.

Cultural traditions are not part of the Commandment to keep the Shabath. If we were raised in other culture and we eat meals prepared in a different manner that has nothing to do with keeping the Shabath Holy. Just prepare your meal and have your house in order before the Shabath, and dedicate yourself to read the Word, Worship God, finding delight in His Creation, visit a worship house, or invite friends home to share the Word of God. I think it is not necessary to follow a Jewish ritual to honor God and follow His Commandments.

I love Jesus Christ in the English language with the English hymns. I just can't see the beauty of God is all these strange ways and sounds of Hebrew. Maybe because I was raised Pentecostal. I can only see Jesus Christ in the English language. I know The Lord loves everyone, but, his Presence seems to be sweeter and stronger in the English way. IE: There is a fountain filled with blood hymn is more beautiful in its words and melody in English only than the strange noise of what is called Hebrew. I just can't feel Jesus without the English language. Maybe God will let me know why. No offense intended.

Sometimes we are used to what we hear for years, which i understand. However Jesus Christ is not English. Jesus is Hispanic which derived from the Greek Iesous. You can go to Mexico and find many males named Jesus. Christ also comes from Hispanic Christos. Kyrio/Hyrio. In the Roman Catholic Church there are several "Jesuses": the one on the cross in church which they bow to, one in the wafer they eat (transubstantiation), and one in a painting or engraved keepsakes adorning the insides of peoples' homes. There are others, but Abba Father said that we are not to worship in this way. You will not see the Hebrew name treated in this way. However there are very rare males taking on ("no other name given among men by which we must be saved") the name Yahoshua. And none named Yahoshua HaMashiach. A name much harder to come by! Hope this helps.

Hello! You write: *I just can't see the beauty of God in all these strange ways and sounds* (of Hebrew) *The strange noise of what is called Hebrew* If you prefer to listen to English hymns, or use the name, Jesus, then by all means do. I'd still like to encourage you to examine a few things. Did you know that the Scriptures Jesus read from were written in Hebrew? Our Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) spoke Hebrew so did His disciples except perhaps for Luke. Scripture sez: 9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the Name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent. - Zephaniah 3 This prophecy has been partially fulfilled in the restoration of the Hebrew language to Israel. But its final ultimate fulfillment will come when one pure language is spoken by all. Will the language be Hebrew? That is yet 2b seen! I myself speak very little Biblical Hebrew but hv memorized a few prayers and songs. I hv learned to love the things the Father loves.♥ By the way, I also enjoy listening to hymns and some Christian contemporary music that exalts Jesus the Messiah. 🕊 Shalom! 🌹

@@linak7155 Thanks. But, it is clear that God has used and blessed the English people to translate the Bible from Hebrew and Greek to English. God has used the English people to write the beautiful hymns, all other gospel music ,the commentaries on the Bible, build the churches and cathedrals,, sing the songs, save the lost, heal the sick. And more. Maybe this is so because Paul took the gospel to Rome and gave up on the Jews, who nationally rejected Jesus Christ.

@@prettypumpkin2314 The Scriptures hv been translated into diverse languages b/c it's in the Father's heart ♥ that everyone be given an opportunity to read/understand Scripture for themselves. You seem 2b sold on English only and that's OK. I certainly appreciate being able to read Scripture in English and Spanish. That being said, I think ur reluctance to hear anything in the Hebrew language is something you ought to examine carefully. By the way, The Father has never given up on the Jews. Read the book of Romans and you will see. He has a plan that includes all the ethnicities who would humbly turn and worship Him in spirit and in truth. "For I do not wish you to be ignorant of this secret, brothers, lest you should be wise in your own estimation, that hardening in part has come over Yisra’ĕl, until the completeness of the nations has come in. And so all Yisra’ĕl shall be saved, as it has been written, “The Deliverer shall come out of Tsiyon, and He shall turn away wickedness from Yaʽaqoḇ and this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.” Isa. 59:20-21. (Romans 11)
