@@jaydereuser7059Guisachan, especially Guisachan village! It’s so peaceful there. Such a shame they are renovating it to be more modern and not so colourful
Lakeshore / mission area. Nice by the lake, we have decent shopping here. Traffic sucks but appearantly they will make lakeshore one way and ritcher one way the other way which will help a lot.
I remember watching your videos when I was waiting my visa for Phd in UBCO. now I am rewatching from the amazing neighbourhood of glenmore. I love Kelowna,,,
I’ve lived on the Westside, Rutland, Mission and Downtown area. Downtown easily is the best. For me being a City kid from Vancouver area, I love that Kelowna downtown core keeps growing up and up. So many more high rise going up, lots of shops, pubs, so many really great places to eat as well. Have you thought about putting together you top 5 places to eat ? Raudz, Micro, Blue Tail, Tokyo, Red Bird, Jacks. Some places I enjoy going 🤙🏼
Good point! Downtown is excellent for having everything you need close by. Great idea with top places to eat! Right now we are working on doing a top wineries video but maybe we will see one based on restaurants in the near future 👀
Just don’t buy any of the condos downtown. They are complete trash. I’ve lived in One Water, Waterscapes, and Ellis Parc. Poorly built - horribly managed.
@@BradyandJayde yeah - honestly one of the worst condo experiences I have had in the world. It makes Colombia look like a dream. Strongly considering Calgary or South America again. Do not buy any condo in Kelowna. - homeless fights wake you up at night from the 20th floor - constant sirens - loud exhausts - no heat in your unit (One Water Street) Mission Group and NAC need to get some competition.
Rutland will boom because all the houses have large yards so all the housing developers will price the average home buyer out to build apartments and townhouses. Kelowna is a 15 minute city that's why there are separate areas
You got that right about land size and zoning! There is also some major investments being made to clean up Rutland. It’s a great place to live, but I still believe places like Glenmore and mission are better suited for most folks!
Great video. It will be evne better if you can add more neighbourhoods into the next episode . For example, Joe rich, south east kelowna, Glenrosa in WK, lakeview heights in WK, the list goes on.
Blue collar and white collar people live in Kelowna. The Superintendent of the School district lives in Rutland. We have the best drinking water out of the tap unlike the Mission, Glenmore and the parts of the city that draw from the lake. Did I mention Okanagan Lake turns over once in a hundred years.
Crime & Homelessness is all over Kelowna… this city caters to junkies & turning a blind eye to all the crimes they commit… words right from a former Kelowna RCMP “ is we are told / advised not to arrest the homeless unless it is a major crime or in a very public area “… B N E’s car theft or threats to the public will go unpunished even when a cop is within eye sight of the crime… the courts will just let them go so why would I waste my time… Remember the former Chief of Police’s daughter ran a dial a dope organization for years in Kelowna so take that as a hint if your thinking of moving here I don’t blame this person for relocating
Lived in Kelowna (downtown) when the population was 38,000 and you could count on one hand the number of homeless people. Wouldn't move back - its just an extension the the LMD. People left the LMD to get away from the crime, homelessness etc and what did they do? They brought their woke politics with them and now you have all the problems they tried to get away from.
After having lived in Kelowna for 20 years and escaping the insanity a number of years ago, my suggestion is to live and work in the same area to avoid a commute. If you are retired, live close to the things you do the most….grocery store, banks, doctors office, Costco. Basically the less driving you have to do the better. The city is too big for the roadways and that creates a horrible drive through gridlock most of the day and the summer is absolute hell on wheels with the tourists driving all over….
Bought a place in west kelowna 6 months ago, I have lived in Calgary, Edmonton, Squamish, and different locations of the lower mainland and I can honestly say this place is freaking Paradise, especially in the summer.
I love Kelowna my aunty and uncle used to live there on a cliff and then there was a big forest fire in 2003 I think it was and their house burned and they moved to Daytona beach. I bet if they stayed and rebuilt their house it would be worth 3 or 4 millions dollars now from what I see on the real estate prices for that area.
Wow! Yes, demand for living in Kelowna has grown a lot since 2003. Sorry to hear about the fire... It is certainly one of the largest risks to living in this part of BC
This kid is a joke. Please do extensive research before you move to kelowna BC sir. 4 generations of my family born and raised in Kelowna B.C have all moved away from Kelowna B.C for many reasons that you need to research. Unless you will be very Wealthy don't even think of moving to Kelowna. Cheers
