Kemi Badenoch leaves door open to Tory leadership bid

Kemi Badenoch has hinted at having Tory leadership ambitions, joining other hopefuls in jostling for position ahead of the General Election.
The Business Secretary, who is seen as a frontrunner to replace Rishi Sunak should he lead the Conservatives to defeat on July 4, said that “we will talk about leadership things after an election” as she did not rule out a tilt at the top job.
She insisted that “we need to focus on this election” at a business event that many in Westminster will have been watching for signs of her intention to run in a future Tory contest as the party braces for an expected defeat.

The Conservative Party made a big mistake with Kemi. She was clearly fast-tracked because of her skin colour, but they forgot to check that she was NOT a conservative before doing so. They don't make mistakes like this often but every now and again one does slip through the net.

The invented statistic you think you are referring to - a strange little number described as 'intensity of trade' - does not reflect the FACTS of UK GDP growth being highest in the G7 over period 2020-2023 and predicted to continue 2024-26. Nor does it show the differential between UK (5th) and Germany (4th) is narrowing, or that with France (6th) is widening and that UK overtook France as 8th largest manufacturing nation,. Neither does it account fo the UK exports having lost no volume orr value to the EU or Rest of World' There ahs been a decline in UK imports of goods from the overpriced low quality EU in favour of better value from elsewhere. All of these advantages will disappear when the UK is taken back into the EU SM by Labour. Ohh, by the way - what you understand about international trade and economics can be written on the back of a stamp.

@@uingaeoc3905 The House of Commons library holds a lot of statistical information. Try looking at some of it. On 24th May they published G7 real GDP % change compared to pre-pandemic levels. France up 2.2%, Italy 4.6%, Eurozone 3.4%, U.K. 1.7%. Facts don’t lie. Germany is an outlier because they are the single most affected EU economy because of the Ukraine war. They had bought hook line and sinker into Russian energy. The Nordstream cut-offs were particularly damaging.
