Former WWF/WWE/UFC legends Ken Shamrock & Dan Severn are here in their very first shoot interview together.
Watch it now ➡ titlematchnetwork.com/title/k...
Severn and Shamrock fought each other in the octogen back when UFC was in its infancy. These two were the first real crossover talents who bridged the gap between pro wrestling and mixed martial arts.
Both Ken Shamrock & Dan Severn figured that once Vince McMahon signed them to WWF during the Attitude Era, a program between the two would be a no-brainer.
However, nothing ever transpired and the two biggest crossover attractions from UFC would not wrestle a single program together.

Shamrock himself thought as soon as Dan was brought in his initial ok Dan got brought in they're likely goin to do a build up for a feud only nope not the case. they cross paths during certain segments only nothing would come of it sadly.

I NEVER understood why they didn't do a long term angle with these two...they could have easily had Owen as Severn's 'mouthpiece'(he wasn't much of a promo cutter if I remember correctly), and done a bunch of matches that lead to the gimmick matches. Wasted opportunity.

@@adamirishconundrum851 As guy below said; UFC wasn't even on VinnyMac's radar. So much so that he declined to buy it for (what would end up being) pennies on the dollar. Shane could've made Vince a Multi-Multi-Billionaire with that one. WWF did buy TapOut Clothing back in the day.

Ken Shamrock had most of the pieces. He was believable (tell me one person who didn't believe Ken Shamrock could ruin you), he was intense, his ringwork was good. If anything, I think timing was just bad. There were so many guys who could have potentially been elevated at the time, there was just not enough top spots for all the guys who could have filled them. Other wrestlers around that time with the same issue include but not limited to Owen Hart and D'lo Brown.

So I had always heard the reason there was no long term with Shamrock and Sevren was there was some issue with neither guy wanting to lose to the other but also to all the people that thought Vince Russo was so great a writing stories he was head writter around this time and he tries to use Severn and Blackman in the Brawl for All and not in long term angles against or with each other.

WWE had gone from kids cartoon to PG-13 rated soap opera. Wrestling was just a tv show at this point. They had no interest in legitimacy. But even still you have to think Severn vs Shamrock would have gotten them ratings if done right.
@ssssssstssssssss
@ssssssstssssssss Год назад
I think that is not quite correct. They did do the stupid Brawl For All afterall... But with all the soap opera nonsense, they lost the ability to tell good stories by early 1999. It's too bad. Severn and Shamrock could have had a great program that lasted from Wrestlemania 15 to Summerslam 99.
