This has to be one of Kendrick's most powerful songs. He was tryna find himself, better himself. Reading Napoleon Hill, finding God, cutting off external negative influences. Aiming for the top and surrounding himself with like minded people, welcoming ideas to get him to be a be a star...and look at him now. He spoke it into existence. Tunage
Kendrick was one of the first rappers I discovered on my own in middle school. Now I'm a month away from graduating from university and he just dropped Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers, crazy to see where he's at now. I feel like I've grown up with him
It's beautiful to see him rising, and be more powerful. When I heard his first sound when he was underrated I was like whoa! This one is so special, I talked about him almost every day(during 2 weeks) to my mom, my sister, my friends. And look at him now, I am proud of him because he never changed. Sometimes when I discover new artist when they become famous their music change it's more mainstream or bullshit. Kendrick still have his creativity and take his time to deliver.
Same same, I discovered Kendrick during school days, when swimming pool just came out. Now ima bout to graduate as well, and just ordered a ticket to the big stepper tour in October, it's literally childhood dream come true. Kendrick literally never disappoints.
@Unmire talent is determined by followers? lol you dumb , juice had already blown up before his death , pop was ABOUT to blow that's why he stayed at 1 mil dude pop gets TONS OF LOVE , he is hotter than juice and gets more praise rn Pop smoke started his carreer at early 2019 , juice at early 2017 `pop more talented sorry
To see Kendrick grow from this has been such an amazing ride, I've been messing with him and cole for the longest and saw success from the first listen. Nothing but love,
Same here for Kendrick, I've talked about him to my friends when I discovered 4 years ago they were all like nah this nigga ain't got no future he wack and stuff and now that he's famous they all suck his dick
I agree, I've grown with them.. these dudes are still a few years older then me, but since I was 18 kendrick has been there.. feel like he's one of my closest homies no homo
I always seem to come back to this video, seeing Kendrick's smile just paints the picture of a compton kid living his dream. Thats what makes this so important.
this just brings us back. Man he's come a long way and he hasn't souled out in any way. I still think Section80 is his best stuff. But that's only my personl opinion.
“If I speak the dreams into existence, my key will unlock” ... never realized he was talking about Law Of Attraction and that makes me love this even more 🤯
the main reason why people live a miserable lives is simply because they value opinions way too much. idk if that has to do anything with this awesome song but as I went into deep thought about that idea, I remembered about this song. The moment you live for the opinions of someone else, you die, because they authentic you is just not there. if you're different stay different, no matter how hard it gets, don't change for anybody.
I am currently sitting in my car alone, after years of partying non stop I tried getting my life together starting reading self motivational books and literally started brainwashing my self but the people around me kept getting on my nerves telling me all these negative things I was feeling so weak I was about to go back to drinking til I heard this song again now I’m rolling one up relaxing 😌 ( I became a licensed realtor and people around me talking shit because I’m still broke and treating me like I ain’t shit because I still haven’t made it big but Kendrick reminds me that it’s a beautiful experience when you learn to love yourself and believe in yourself when nobody else does! Thank you KDot
Proud of you Bro! 💪👌 Never give up! As J cole says "If they don't know your dreams, then they cant shoot them down." All we can do is try our best. Keep doing you keep the chin up and walk in with your head held high anywhere you go. Remember that the Skies the Limit! We got nothing else to do but go up from here baby! Keep on pushing boo 😘😏
Sending Love! Everyone’s idea of success and happiness are all different. People are gonna be endorsing their own version of happiness. And Yes having a partner, getting married, having kids, working have lots of money, retiring, going places experiencing the world. Would be a good life. But there’s still jobs that need to be done by ppl, no it may not pay great. But ppl rely on these services eg farming, community services, care takers of other people in need, or retailers, servers. Without them who’s gonna pick the fruits/vegetables for that gourmet meal you ordered and just expect it to be served to you just coz you’ve got the money to pay. Everyone trying to make it big, but no one is willing to do the jobs that are actually needed. So yeah they may be paid and got kids, but they do nothing for the community but expect shit done and blame governments for not providing. Our values are misguided, there are very few GREAT ppl out there. Most are selfish ordinary, some just good enough. Ppl will judge you for being broke. I judge them for not being a better person. Covid should’ve taught us lots about us as ppl. If you didn’t have to work, well you not essential person. if you were at home bored doing nothing but exercising, passing time, complaining about how fat you got, not being able to enjoy life. Check yourself. “Paid” ppl just want/need to be entertained, and the wold is nice so it will provide that. When the world is closed, they complain coz you can’t go out and spend your money. Stay home with your money and wait for your food to be delivered. Half y’all jobs are not needed, entertainers, selling non essential items, advertising, marketing. Get a better job seriously 😒 make a difference, even if it’s only to lives of a few ppl. Be part of the solution..
In this song I believe he's trying to say he needs to be in the right crowd, because others are giving him negative energy and he shouldn't feed off of that. "I'm trying to learn something new" obviously means he's developed over negativity and wants to change that by hanging with the right people, which would lead him to success. It definitely worked. Clever work by Kendrick Lamar!
PermanentHigh also when he says "I'm trying to learn something new" it means he hears the same "bullshit" all the time. It is obvious that he is much more intellectual that his counterparts.
This is my favourite Kendrick song right now. He puts into perspective the exact mentality of wanting better for yourself and the people around you, aiming to answer a higher calling rather than being content in your own habits, frozen in the same place you've been accustomed to your whole life.
@@ILLeeT36 You're so fucking ed that you got youtube question what you just said, because why am I getting an option to translate your reply in English?
Kendrick is a poetic genius Kendrick Lamar goes in soo hard on this right here! Only reason he is getting more hits is cuz he is just watching that short on my channel explaining how all these trappers out here be blowing up so big
See through the illusions of this world. Kendrick is the best! I love his voice & lyrics… he just seems so real & down to Earth! You can listen to other rappers & hip hop artists & not feel any type of way. Kendrick’s music is different. I absolutely love his work! 💯
This song sooo powerful and I'm glad out of all the music he had underground he chose this to be his 1st video/song/single to set the tone for his career
I've never heard this song until now.... The second verse with his boy is one of the most accurate verses, reason why I elevated and I'm mostly solo now days. Salute Kendrick
This song has good substance, good lyrics, a good beat and a good hook. This is how a rap song should be like, not like those lyrical underground rappers with trash beats and bad hooks.
So the best way you be honoring the msg in the sing is by hating lyrical MC's that ain't got the chops to produce good beats yet or haven't been introduced to a good producer.
Not too many people check out my music, but those who do always seem to enjoy. Would love if you too a minute to check out my new song + video on my page and let me know what you think
I was bumping this when it came out when I was still a teenager. I didn’t fully grasp the concept of it at the time, just a dope song to roll up to with the boys. But now it gives me a whole new perspective on a lot.. Kendrick truly is one of the GOATS.
3:19 The Destruction of the Black Family....tears. Love his Mama and him in their scene how she just submits after he takes the phone and she hugs her boy. How she rubs her hand cross his back like, "I love this boy", "he right, let that bullshit go". Chills. Let's Heal Y'all.
The appreciation I have for this man’s raps will live forever. Shaped my adolescence and gave me something to stand on. Helped me understand the importance of life. Thank you again Mr. Duckworth 🙏🏾
2024... I came across the Kendrick and Drake battle... That Kendrick won in a total melting sweap... I was almost done with hip hop... Im a lyrical appreciater... And i was impressed yo! New fan here.. Yes ive heard a few songs before.. But now i need to hear everything.. 💯
This one of the first songs that really made me fall in love with Kendrick's music. I'm so happy dude has blown up i put so many people onto his shit in my country early on now i'm looking like Nostradamus saying he was gonna be the next king.
This still my best kdot song It still keeps reminding me of cutting of people who are bringing me down. And need to surround myself with people who inspires me
