Kenley Jansen trade rumors are focused on the Dodgers...could that be the next move? AND Blake Snell asked the Yankees for $270 Mil over 9 years from the Yankees! #mlb #baseball
Dude! I absolutely agree with you! Snell’s negotiation strategy is insane. There’s no way, no way he will find a team desperate enough to even come close to his asking price in years, or money.
Do not bring him back who keeps saying this. If you can’t go, after a good closer, give some of the younger people, a chance, or people that are on the roster now.
I mean Yamamoto hasn't thrown an MLB pitch, so in a normal world, if you think of 2 CY youngs, he isnt that crazy. His problem really is the in between years, otherwise 270 is completely normal
At this point I don't think I'd give any starter more than 3 or 4 years out of fear of injuries. Snell has had 2 very good seasons and 3 injury plagued sub-par seasons. If he brought that offer to me I'd say enjoy your time in Japan, lol!
Dodger Fans on every site are overwhelmingly against Kenley returning. An amazing lot of Dodgers Podcasters think this is a media hype by Red Sox FO trying to get rid of him for something in trade. I do not know what the Dodger FO will do, but there is a sincere fear amongst the fans that if Jensen comes back Dave Roberts will go to him to much as the 'Closer' out of loyalty, not best option. If Kenley came back in another role other than Closer, it would depend on $$$ and what zero value trade goes out-nothing in the positive value, nothing in the MLB Top 100 or Dodger Top 30. He is just not worth it. You have to pay him plus 110% tax fee. Kenley is not worth $1 x 110%. So please tell Robbie Hyde to ask Red Sox Fans to please stop trying to con us Dodger Fans. We Dodger Fans saw Kenley those final years and since. We do not want him. Not even for free. We wouldn't trade a Dodger Dog and 3 Free Parking Passes at the Stadium for Kenley, even if the Red Sox picked up the entire contract. We would accept what we have and go Closer By Committee before KJ. If the Red Sox wanted to get rid of KJ, why didn't they throw him in the Chris Sale deal for free? Probably offered and the Braves said it would NIX the deal. Let Jensen follow Belli, Turner, Joc, and J.D.. We loved them-Past Tense!
No way Snell gets either 270 million or 9 years. Guy has 3 good years in him tops. I don't see the guy getting more than 5 years in a deal and no more than 160 million total for however long he will sign. If I was a team with money to spend I'd offer him 35 million a year for 3 years tops.
@@JumboJuneau I mean at this point the Dodgers are set. I would be wondering why they would be signing more starting pitching at this point with Buhler set to return unless the Dodgers were immediately going to trade a few of their starting arms.
I’m a dodgers fan.. and here is what the issue with signing Yamamoto causes. He gets 12y/325m without throwing a single pitch in MLB. Snell is a two time CY young award winner. But he has so many red flags that is proven. But so much potential that’s proven. Snell asking for 30mil a year isn’t unreasonable, but the years is insane.
Exactly what I'm thinking, but that's why the yankees 25 million a year isn't that bad. Yamamoto is no better than snell from a risk stand point. Of course Snell has less good years, but also 2 CY young years. Yamamoto has great potential if his stuff translates, but also has huge (because of the contract size) bust potential.
Snell is a client of Scott Boras, right? Isn't over-asking an earmark of Boras clients? BTW, I'm a Dodgers fan, and I don't want Kenley back on the team. Nothing personal, but the guy has proven that he can't be depended upon to close any longer. Maybe in Atlanta, maybe in Boston, but not in LA. I guess I'm back to turning off the TV when the 9th inning comes around.
I think the best Snell can expect at this point is six years $180M-- maybe with an opt out after two-seasons. If I'm the Angels i'd give him 6 for $175M.
Snell was offered $30M per for 5 yrs.. at 31, 5 yrs is a long term contract. Especially for a 5 inning pitcher. Snell wants $1M per 5 inning start. That's If he makes 30 starts. Delusions of grandeur on the part of Boras.
Clase equals nightmares people! 12 blown saves 7.9 k per 9, walk per 9 4.0 average against 242. That’s not good way worse then kenley. Snell looks like a guy that thinks he is way better than he actually is. He always had an attitude when pulled but he always looked gassed
I’d offer Snell an incentive based contract that can pay off big IF he meets innings pitched.. base salary around 20 million with incentives. DO NOT go longer than 5 years
Well, it's his agent who's nuts, and Snell a fool if he thinks he or anyone else is worth that asking price. IOW more than the gross domestic product of a medium sized country.
No. Not close at all. Snell’s value is 2 CY minus the cost of a good reliever to finish 6th-7th innings. That’s his value. Mind you, those are just his potential CY years, which he will never have again in either NY teams because he won’t be able to handle the pressure, but how about his off years? He’s not like Kershaw who gives you great numbers even on seasons he doesn’t win the CY. Snell is arguably one of the worst CY winners ever. He’s not close to what he’s asking.
Twins RSN situation is in worse situation than the Rangers, they aren't spending Snell kind of money. Giants feel like the only one who might be willing to spend, unless the Padres free up some money.
This is the Red Sox, and Dodger-Haters trying to take the Dodgers down a notch. Probably Brave Fans as well. If KJ is that great, why don't they try to pawn him off on the Braves Return? They could have thrown him in for with Chris Sale. But Noooooo, the Braves did not want Sale if they had to also take KJ.
I think a Jansen to the Dodgers is cool. Like Cutch n back to the Pirates and Cookie Carasco to the Guardians l. Let these guys finish where it started. As Nell is out of his damn mind if he thinks he’s gonna get a deal like that he’s going to be watching the 2024 season from his couch.
Blake is high off is A$$. I really do believe he turned off GMs back during the pandemic/lockout. When players like him wanted full years pay for 50 games. He said verbatim, “I gotta get mine”.
Sox Question for everyone: Clearly, they are passing on 2024 and turning towards a youth movement. Sad, but they have made a decision. Q: If this is the case, why carry Rafi's contract long term when they can flip him in June for pitching prospects? My guess is that Grissom is the 3b of the future and Rafi is gone in 5 months.
Who cares about that in LA Dodger World? We do not see him as an option in 2024. If he is that great and such a potential great 2024 Closer---Red Sox have him, why trade that great piece away? The Red Sox are going Full throttle! How can they afford to let such a great piece go---unless they are trying to run the Con. Let the Red Sox keep him.
Why are the Dodgers trying to trade away their farm system? Kenley is no longer who he was in his prime. They need to have players that can win during the playoffs but Kenley and Kershaw are not it. Let’s see which stupid team so desperate for a pitcher sign Snell. The Angels might be a lock. Another bad contract just like Rendon’s. Angels could be forever screwing themselves over.
No Jansen please. Don’t waste no talent for him, it’s not worth it no matter the ranked prospect they can always become something. Dodgers can do better
