Helpful video. I was able to pull that duct that holds the element. You gotta twist and haul on it pretty good though. And it’s rough getting it back in. But thanks again for the video.
I have a kenmore older mode like yours in the video and my wire that connects to the heating element has burned out! Can’t seem to be able to find one that is the same length as mine which is 2 feet long! This is all I need to repair my dryer! Can you please help me! And help or suggestions will be appreciated!
replaced all thermisters and heater coil, still get no heat or glow from the coil, then a "E2" code after 2 minutes of running. What else could be the issue? Thanks for your illustration.
At the end when you install the new heating element, it glowed red and turned on immediately. Would a broken one not glow? I am having similar issues and wondering if it is the heating element and I can just see if it’s glowing or not?
I might have the same problem. Mine glows but then stops minutes after idk what to do I replaced the thermal cutoff and thermostat coils start to glow then stops I checked heating element for continuity and that all works
mine was difficult to 'pull out' I thought something was holding it in; after turning it back and forth while pulling it came out BUT don't recall what/why it didn't (it's been years)
Before buying a heating element…what would be the signs? If the thermostat and thermal cuff off were fine then is it fair to assume it’s the heating element that needs replacing? And the belt…would it be the cause for the dryer to not start? When I turn it manually..it turns so does that mean the belt is fine?
I may not be understanding your question. If you watch the video I go through what steps to take to find out if it's 'fuses' or heating element in this video.
Hi, i really need some help. I have a Kenmore 90 series dryer. It suddenly would not start. I checked the circuit breaker and it’s fine. I assumed it was the door switch bc it was not clicking and light would not come when I opened the door. I replaced it. The dryer still would not start. I tested the thermal fuse with multimeter and it was unclear bc sometimes it beeped and sometimes it did not so I replaced it. And still the dryer would not start. I tested the start button with multimeter and it beeps. The most common and obvious are working. I am considering the electrical/terminal port but isn’t it fair to assume it is fine bc the light in the dryer comes in when I open the door? Please help. What else could it be?
I would also love to know the part number for this heating element. All the other Series 80 heating elements are accessed through the back on RU-vid it seems. Therefore I ordered the wrong one. Your dryer is the same as mine and I want to get the correct one this time. Thanks!
I had the same question. I keep watching videos hoping someone will show it. Where are the screws holding it in? I found the one near the front but can’t see the others.
I replaced thermal cutoff and thermostat came together as a kit installed them both coils start glowing but then stop minutes after what can be the problem? I'm getting continuity out of the heating element when I checked the new thermal cutoff that I installed I didn't get none I slammed it to reset and got continuity coils glow but then stop.
