Hello Richard & Julia You both did so well making these videos. Especially with such a small baby. You made a good team. I have never been on a canal boat but seen them on TV. tfs
I thought those ducks looked rather aggressive!!!😂 I agree Julia - the entrances to the tunnel was beautiful! Loved Bath (I know you've made vids of walking around it before, but I was still rather hoping to see y'all exploring more of the city😕)! It was interesting listening to you guys talking at the end, but I gotta admit I was a bit distracted by Joseph's tongue in search of his pacifier!😛😜😝👶🏻🤣🤣🤣 So cute!
@@RichardVobes yeah kinda shocked at how many tourist were still around now that the school year has started?!?! At least thats how things usually go here🤔
I built my own boat and I set it afloat! I went through locks and tunnels! Where I lost all the funnels! I didn’t get it right! I forgot about the height! Julia has become a Tiller Girl, only those over 60 will understand that one!!
Wow! The shot of Richard and Joseph as you came through the tunnel was idyllic. Well done for getting all the way through to Bath and for taking a quick stroll too. Julia's narrow boating tips were brilliant. You must try to have a good turn at the tiller on the way back. You have an excellent teacher on-board! Full speed ahead now through just outside the marina.
That’s the second time this week I have seen those tunnels this week. The first was a couple who have given up land living. Channel Floating our Boat). Also I noticed that you are coming under Julia’s influence and your cloths are going purple. Great video.
Good to see a dry day. I’ve only been through bath on the train really - would love to spend some time there. Bow thrusters are amazing - makes life a lot easier to moor!
We love Bath and have stayed there in a hotel, but I must admit being on a canal boat does look more fun. A guided tour around the ancient baths is well worth the pennies. When we last went you could put your fingers in to the warm, spring, water, which considering the Romans did exactly the same many years ago is quite amazing! 👍
Ive already thought i would love to do this but a little bit nervous thinking i would be useless piloting the narrowboat and nobody to teach me. Looks such a lovely thing to do on the water and visiting places for a week or even two. Thank you Richard and Julia for a series of super videos 🌻
I've been noticing this! Thought if Julia needed a Halloween costume for Joseph, just find some khaki short pant, button up shirt & put A pair of glasses on him! Wallah!!! A mini-me of the Balad Explorer!🤓 lol
Remember the phrase 'bald as a coot'. A coot has a white forehead extending almost to the top of its head (hence the description 'bald'), while a moorhen has a red forehead not going as far up. NB this applies to the UK/European coot and moorhen. I believe America has different birds with the same name (as with some other birds, such as the robin.
The hire boats tend to have large holding tanks for that waste which the hire companies deal with upon return. Private boats usually have toilets that take smaller waste tanks called cartridges which can be emptied at various points on the canals.
