Us kids hated it in the 60's when our parents put on the Porter Wagoner Show. UGH. But wow what a performance. Kenny hosted a kids show here in Flint, Bay City, Saginaw Michigan in the early sixties, "The Kenny Roberts Show" on channel 5. All I really remember about it is he had cartoons and wore a big cowboy hat.
I remember when I was kid there was a KENNY ROBERTS show on TV. There were kids as guests. He sang and yodeled and jumped around. I believe his show was on TV in the 1950s.
I was on one of his shows. At the beginning of the show they would have one of the kids in the audience hold a cardboard guitar. I got to hold it once during the opening of the show.
Kenny had more than one local TV show. I don't know about the earlier ones, but I used to watch him on WNEM TV-5 in Saginaw in the early 60's. It was called "The Kenny Roberts Show." Besides his performances, it had cartoons and a small audience of kids. He was known by us then as The Jumping Cowboy.
@@timl.b.2095 Yes, I was on that show twice. Kenny would 'interview' some kids. He asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, 'a man'. He just smiled.
My moms favorite growing up in Greenfield , MA where Kenny was raised. This was his signature song... I remember mom playing his albums all the time. My brother has a photo with him when he was just 4 or 5 years old.
I saw him play at a little fair in Enfield NH in the mid eighties, he was a trooper and kept playing long after his Gallup was out of his yodle with the aid of a younger man backing him up, it was great to meet and talk with him.
Pure talent and a voice as clear as a bell. People in the (so-called) music business these days could practice for a hundred years and they still couldn't get within spitting distance of this man's amazing talent!.
Kenny was filmed singing this in Shelburne Falls, MA (near his hometown) and was included in the documentary called "Country's Reminisce Hitch" (the first six horse hitch to walk coast to coast) in 1993. I was born and raised and still live in Shelburne Falls.
Thank you so much for posting this video!!! Many years ago I discovered this wonderful singer on the web and since then I only found some audios, never a video. Anybody knows if there are any others available? Greetings from Brasil!!
Glenn Johnson Guilherme Tavares,Jasmine Records in Uckfield,Sussex,UK have many tracks available of Kenny Roberts.Go to Google where you will find their full address.I have a number of these.I love performing his songs in my stage show. All the best.
El climbing yodel final es brutal muy similar al de Margo Smith en este tema. El yodel del principio si estuviera mejorado y al final y el climbing al principio del tema sería una brutalidad de tema a la altura de Tennessee Yodelers de Margo Smith.
@marie-hervelinecaron2514 I loved that estate sale! We found great homes for lots of it! We actually just started filming our estates again so people can see them quicker. I'm all over New England
