Daniela Basic Bert de jager You are just jealous because you are not. America is the ONLY country in the world where anyone one can come here from some other country and be come one.
Orumus Vids totally agree. Few things annoy me more than hearing it sung by a single person, especially a young and fragile-sounding girl. It should be sung proudly and forthrightly in a manner which pays homage to our brave founding fathers and to those who have payed the ultimate price to lead the free world. God Bless our great country.
mutalisklover - yes..... yes..... complete world domination by the US.... we could have every human in the world singing this!!! Oh yes!!! Dictatorships ROCK
Yep but there are two thing to consider; She is a trained professional who uses a 'Whistle' register. These are untrained high school girls who used a full voice register. ^^
i look around and i love the people i see, love the land i drive on, love the places i go to, love the strangers i meet, love the nature, love the weather, and all of it is america to me. i'd happily die for america
Carl69901 Britain 🇬🇧 will be fine. You guys left the European Union. Good first steps. There's nothing wrong with a little nationalism. You guys have a thousand years of ass kicking to fall back on. Don't let leftists ruin that.
I love my British brothers and sisters and I am so happy to hear one of you saying things like this. It is an honor and privilege to have you say these things. : )
I remember after 9/11 our friends from the UK doing one of the most amazing things...the royal guard at Buckingham played the Star Spangled Banner as Americans stranded in the UK looked on. I thank you so much for your friendship and may our countries continue their working together. I cry every time I watch that video.
THIS is the way our National Anthem is supposed to be sung. Not desecrated by all these so called talents at games that put their own personal spins on it for attention. This was simply beautiful. Thank you Kentucky All State Choir. It did indeed bring a tear to these eyes.
This song has been so thoroughly mangled beyond recognition so many times by so many completely untalented "singers" that it seems to have lost its value. Then you come across a performance like this, and as you listen, it really does make you want to stand and put your hand over your heart. I think that in lieu of hiring hacks to sing it at sporting events and other places, they should get this choir to make a professional recording and license it out with proceeds going to college scholarships for the kids at that school.
Yes, I've thought this for many years, to the point where I believe that our National Anthem should no longer be sung in public. Some people object to flag burnings, but I think that the way our Anthem is usually sung these days is much more offensive than burning the flag. Singing today is about loud volume and torturing the sound and the lyrics. Anyway, whatever you call it, it's now more about the singer's verbal gymnastics than the song. Public performances of our National Anthem today are like urinating on our flag. They should be stopped until a generation comes along that respects our flag and our country.
QUABLEDISTOCFICKLEPO I agree with you,I being a high school senior choir member in the Great state of South Dakota , I have heard many times where the Anthem has completely been disgraced for lack of a better term, and then when ever our choir has the honor of singing the Anthem, the crowd is always awed.
the military usually pays for the high frequency of american flags and commercially relevant singers singing the national anthem at every single major sporting event. its basically propaganda, but i think the over abundance of flags and anthems makes those same symbols lose their significance. it also creates blind, materialistic patriotism; "patriotism isn't about making everyone stand and salute the flag, patriotism is about making this a country where everyone wants to."
I used to think the American anthem was a shitty song from all those stupid renditions by all the pop stars butchering it at the start of various sports events. Always sounded like a derivative pop song with exaggerated patriotic overtones, so over-the-top, so histrionic. Then I heard this. There should be a law against pop stars fucking up your anthem, guys. This is the way to do it. Beautiful, chilling, and from the bottom of the heart.
Tomik, from those of us who fought for America, your words are very encouraging. We as Brothers and Sisters should all get behind our country and those trash people who desecrate the Flag and the Promise it held and does hold to the world is Freedom. Don't ever forget your words here my new Brother, for you are our future, you ARE the Future of America's Star Spangled Banner.
It's a C#6, however the 2015 version had a few sopranos hitting a high E. It's like they were all a part of the "which soprano can sing the highest?" game
I wish that all baseball games, instead of a national star singing their version of the anthem. I want the entire stadium to erupt in song, singing their national anthem together. As a symbol of unity, and the will to fight back.
In St. Louis, for the final game of the Cardinals baseball season, the stadium organist starts off the Anthem and then a few notes later, 35-40k Cardinals fans all join in unison for the National Anthem. I went to the final game of the 2017 season a day before I moved to the desert, and as a former St. Louisan... Hearing 30,000+ fans sing the Anthem is hauntingly beautiful...people will even join in while in the stadium concourses or across the street from the stadium. Downtown literally becomes a giant choir for a few moments, and it is something words can never hope to describe. And funny enough, that's a tradition that the Cardinals have only had around for 20-odd years
What do you mean, I think this kind of thing is more common in the UK, isn't it? You guys have the BBC proms singalongs every year, which I'm jealous of.
+Gamzee Makara It was actually the official song of the Anacreontic Society - which was an 18th Century society of musician-gentlemen. They would get together, perform some songs they had come up with, eat, and yes, drink. But no, not a "drinking song"...this myth needs to die.
This is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard! As a European, I have nothing but love and respect for America - a place that I would like to call home some day :-)
Another immigrant. UH OH.... Everyone throw your hands up in the air in protest and yell 'GTFO of America'.. oh.. wait... he is European... it's ok. Time to be a hypocrite about it.
My advice on moving to the US - move to Mexico and work on the tan. Then, when no one is looking, run across the border and get all the free shiz you can. If you get caught just say you are here to vote Democrat. It's worked millions of times already!
It sounds heavenly. What I appreciate about this is that there is a strong, clear national ideal in the US that people aspire towards; whereas I feel that in the UK we lack this kind of patriotism. I'm not saying that America always achieves its ideals, but I think that simply having the idea that you want to work as part of a national community towards something greater than yourself, is positive.
I'm a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a proud American. I love our National Anthem very much, and stand at attention saluting our flag every time with pride. But this was so glorious and beautiful, it had me in tears! Thank you to all who participated in this. Your talent and patriotism, performing this in that setting are uncanny. God bless y'all, and God bless America!
Same. I was kinda thinking about a second Civil War but instead of N vs S, it's kind of like all the prejudice groups (in an alternate version of events that they are more powerful) against the US or something like that.
@cocaine addiction I helped run a business for three years and currently trade stocks online because I'm such a commie 🙄 Come back to me when we don't have the world's highest incarceration rate and our federal tax code doesn't exceed the length of the fucking Bible!
I am a 20 yr Army vet, and this has left me speechless, because I could not hold back the flood of emotions and the tears. A very inspiring performance. Thank you Kentucky All State Choir. And thank you for posting.
MrGregOtis We love you MrGregOtis!!! You are a wonderful man to let that love of country fly. It's a beautiful flag, representing a beautiful people, and a beautiful love song. Our nation is so vulnerable, so fragile, and so badly needs to be built back up. Seeing combat, and our flag in the combat must make this song rock your soul. Does mine
+07bigpapi this comment is old, but no, the kids all just come out and do it themselves so it there are bumpy parts like not being completely in sync but it's still amazing
+DirtRoadTraveler and the illegals, if they were patriotic they would have came here the right way, same with those nuts that want the illegals here. America is for patriotic Americans first, and those who hate it and the illegals N-E-V-E-R!
***** im not sure what is with the name in the reply, but I think you get my point, that I really don't like illegals, ive thought the birthright citizenship thing needed changed longer than trump as been a candidate, I think illegals are a national issue, coming here and using our tax dollars and getting everything given to them by this corrupt administration when they should be dealt with appropriately(sent back, etc..)
Many people respect America. If you nothing nice to say keep it to yourself. Because it always starts a fight.. Or what I like to call 'comments war'. Yeah.. Pretty bad name... But I like it :P
The 'stupid song' you call is not stupid! People respect the national anthem because of those who fought for our country. The freedom they bring to other Americans makes others happy. Honestly, I can't understand why there's always this ONE person who disagrees. Again, the 'stupid song' isn't retarded.
I am proud to know that whatever the future may hold and whatever the fate of my home is, they can never take this from me...they will never take it from me.
Kentucky Choir YOUNG PEOPLE..... you are the HOPE for America! How wonderful this is! You made a Viet Nam era Vet..... someone from a confusing war, knowing how confusing the Tomorrows are for you.... Smile! Thank you! :)
It always scares me to think of a day when none of my country's youth still believes in what this song represents. Since I was a child I've wanted nothing more than to be able to lay on my death bed and know I was part of something far bigger and more noble than my own life. Despite what culture will tell you, it is not more "grown up" to give up this idealized version of life. Instead, it is more grown up to hold on to that and never let it go. Live your life as if the song held true and someday it might. Thank you for restoring my faith in our future and may god bless you all.
as a cultural marxist and future Hillary 2016 supporter, I wont rest until common core education is spread across america. Personally I hope that in the future, Our Peoples Song will be 'Tis a Gift to be Simple', or maybe an african spiritual.
Live free, live brave. That is to live in the truth so as to be a light shining in the world, and to face the darkness of oppression and fear with courage. We must be a good people and a strong people. And as they did in 1812, we must always honor the flag, for which many have bled.
I find it blissful that as the song progresses they slowed each word and each note down so it was drawn out as long as they could. It really let you absorb and enjoy the harmony all their voices and the acoustics gave to the melody. I wish it could always be sung as beautifully as this! :)
@@bnasty8636 This is what every fallen service member hears before they enter the halls of Valhalla.... they hear you all, singing the song of their people. Feel honored
Frederick Glass I do, it has been so great meeting people that had first participated in this 30+ years ago and have come here since just to be a part of it. It’s crazy just to be in person for it. It’s incredible since its not rehearsed, and there is no conductor. It gave me chills being a part of it.
Holy God damn hell! You know those moments when you become flooded with emotion because of music and you take a sudden strange gasp/breath and your eyes begin to water and no matter how manly you are you can't stop it? Fuck that feeling got to me...And I'm Irish.
LovinMyPrincess911 ...I fail to see how it matters so much more for this video. I'm American and happy to be so, but god damn sometimes it feels so good to just use phrases like this (even if they are interpreted as rude by some) to express the overwhelming emotion swelling up inside of you. Not to mention the phrase by itself if taken literally is simply a request for holy God to damn Hell... Music was beautiful, though. Good job, everyone.
Commandment 3 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Even i do every few months. But i feel bad afterwords.
I feel the same way Jb. Christians can follow their commandments if they want to, but to me it's just an expression and if it helps me express myself better without doing any real harm then I'm going to use it.
Wholly....!?? YOU GUYS?? HERE? WOW. Like these are some of my favorite videos from this channel here. Best US national anthem choir that I have ever heard anywhere. Last people I expected to see here honestly was you guys (Like what the actual... just a woah moment). A pleasant surprise. Glad I'm a backer!
I hae listened to this a few times now, and stil gives me chills every time . . that high harmony in the last to lines is just devine!! If I ever get to America, it has to be to see this live!
I know this is an old comment but still, it speaks to how transcendental and beautiful this is, that even as a non-American, I am stunned into abject silence by this performance every time I watch. It is unbelievably beautiful. So many people in the comments are arguing about what real patriotism is and America seems to be a country where patriotism is both a competition between individuals to be the most patriotic and also a rather insidious disease where people do cruel and unkind things because of patriotism for ‘Murica. But this song is surely real, true patriotism distilled into one act; no jingoism or posturing, just genteel beauty and art to express love for your home. The warmth and pride of all the singers is so clear and sincere, the firm bass filling the song with fervour and the highest soprano notes lifting it up to the Heavens with their ethereal voices. I wish this choir would perform all national anthems this way for the world, but this one is gorgeous enough to suffice for me forever. Going to see this performance (if that is possible to do) is on my bucket list. I want to stand there in that hotel and sink to my knees in awe of the music. It sounds weird and creepy to type that but it’s just so moving that it is true.
I'm very happy to see there are still people who are Americano, I'd love to have you replace some of the disrespectful people over here. Much respect for you
firstmusic00 My country is going down the drain ;) Corruption, empty promises, poor economy.. I see no prosperety.. Therefor I'm very close to moving to Canada :)
This is without a doubt far better than any celebrity or professional musician National Anthem performance I've ever heard. Maybe celebs and professional musicians should take note: this song is most beautifully performed when you play it straight instead of trying to showcase your talent.
I want to remind my fellow Americans of where we came from. We founded this government of the people, for the people, by the people to establish a republic of freedom. In nations around the world, bowing is common. Respect them, but remember that as an American, you do not bow. Bowing can convey submission and yielding. Here in the US, soldiers, men and women, fought for a nation to make all equal, to eliminate the status of superiority, to make all equal. You look them in the eye and give them a firm handshake, and know that be it president or neighbor, your equal as a human being and citizen.
@@TactileCoder No! :) They are choirs in competition, and this is part of what they do. It's fabulous. They do this every year, it is a tradition as part of the Kentucky All State Choir tradition. :) If you look, you can find it from 6 or 7 years by the year of the competition (2019, 2018, 2016, etc)
I went to the US Army Air Assault school at Ft. Campbell in 1995. Nice people down there. I felt the world famous 'Southern Hospitality' when I was there. Maybe your Senator Rand Paul runs for Presidency in 2016. I like him. He seems to believe in the important values that made America great.
Margaret Lauterbach Sure. Why not. This is America. Anybody can be call themselves anything. Rapper Dr. Dre is not really a doctor. And race baiting Sharpton and Jackson are not really Reverends. And I wonder if the arrogant Kenyan socialist that people like you put in office, twice, is a real American. Can you tell me why his college records are sealed? I was a 5-star General, btw. But I was fired because I told your messiah that I will NOT shoot innocent American citizens.
Margaret Lauterbach You moron he is an ophthalmologist. Next time google before making stupid comments! Paul left Baylor early when he was accepted into the Duke University School of Medicine, where he earned an M.D. in 1988, and completed his residency in 1993.[
I am so proud as an American, as a Musician, and as a Teacher. The fact beauty and honor comes out of those young people gives hope to us all for a better tomorrow, and I pray inspires all who see this to bring more good into the world. Thank you Kentucky All State Choir. Don't let that moment be special, let it be defining.
I am so close to giving up on this country. The political corruption, the systematic loss of our freedoms, the uncontrollable debt, the military industrial complex, the fascist alignment of corporations and political special interest in the 'big' government, the unconstitutional executive orders passed practically on a daily basis, I can go on.. Then I listen to this beautiful masterpiece, sung by the young "futures of America" no less, filled with emotion, and suddenly I felt as though there might be true positive hope and change for the future of this once great Republic. Molon Labe. God Save America.
So good to see and hear, makes me doubly proud to be a Kentuckian. Be sure and catch the notes of those high sopranos on those 3 places it's called for!! The funny beginning is when someone hits an "E Pitch" and all the singers find that pitch to sing, and then they give a signal and they all begin. Just marvelous -- Bless all those wonderful Kentucky kids and their sponsors.
A tradition like this makes me proud to have served my country! They really need to get a professional sound crew in there to get the great acoustics it is simply awesome! I have read a lot of the comments on this video the one that said they are all singing at different times is what makes this sound so cool. These kids are great in my book and the tempo they used is fantastic for this room! So all you nay sayers back the hell off! I could not be prouder of these kids! and I dont live in Ky
btw, they do this every single year, they do plan it, but its whatever way you learned to sing this song, you sing it. your free to add in more harmonies, but, they do an announcement for every one to join them in the hallways and sing the national anthem at the top of your lungs. I really hope they continue to do this as well.
This performance gave me the goosebumps, like I would get when I was a kid listening to this song. The United States may have her faults... but she's still my country, and my home. Thank you for posting this video, Generations of people all sang this song, and I imagine that if we all sang it together we might sound something like this.
So lovely to think of all these people belonging to so many different demographics and ideologies, all singing under this one song. The harmony really makes it beautiful.
Even going back to listen to the new years, this one is still the prettiest in my opinion. The beginning is pure, and the ending high notes, for 'The' brave, the 'The' get taken halfway through by the higher notes which blends it so wonderfully into the rise for 'Brave'. Plus, being on the top floor like you were for video'ing means all the acoustics rose up to you, rather than some other videos i've seen down on the floor level.
+Wes Morgan I love how every note they draw it out longer and longer to the end. Just makes the song so dreamy and relaxed to bring out all the parts to it. :) I thoroughly enjoyed this and I personally feel it's one of my favorite renditions of this song. Too bad it can't be sung like this ALL the time. XD
I have watched this so many times and never get tired of hearing it again, my heart swells with pride. God Bless our Troops and God Bless their Families !!
Give's me chills. This video reminds me why I joined the Corps in the first place, to protect the country I love and the people I care about. God Bless, Semper Fi. RIP LCpl Richard P Shoener End of Watch, 8 May, 2005 Laghman, Afghanistan Age 22 Rest Easy Brother, We'll take it from here. Miss ya every day man
Everytine I watch this, I cannot help but cry. It's beyond beautiful. I just wish everyone in our nation could understand how beautiful that song truly is.
Regardless of your patrotism, when hearing the National Anthem sung so beautifully, you can really appreciate what a beautiful arrangement it is. -pround to be American!!!
