And that’s true, all the great teams have it. Brandon was trying to explain it too, that if a big 4 is down there he can’t just go in. @@cubbdacrossfacecrippler That's not what I said, I said "think twice", you can clearly see certain bigs alter an entire offense which becomes hesitant to drive the ball or they try to get the ball away from wherever they are. Wemby is a prime example of this. That doesn't mean nobody ever drives the ball. I just means while that big is on the floor, you may see more threes or mid-range shots vs when no real defensive anchor is around the paint, we've seen guys absolutely abuse the paint.

I think they both are right…Gil was saying you need size to win a championship. And Martin was saying you don’t need a rim protector in this nba at the 4 spot really. Boston had all 6’4 and up pkayers with a 7’3 Porzingis, who was blocking Kyrie‘s layups. Which we all saw them first 2 game the paint was on lockdown and mavs struggled. Basically saying pj don’t give you enough on offense with his defense/rim protection compare to Aaron Gordon. let’s not act Aaron Gordon don’t got away better chance at protecting the rim then pj.

Gil don’t understand what a rim a protector is. Kenyon is right. Size don’t equate to rim protector. Draymon and Rodman are perfect examples of this. Bam is a 6’9 rim protector while porter jr 6’10 simply isn’t.

Not necessarily. He simply is saying PJ is down there ….even I would attempt a layup without a thought. But with Aaron Gordon I would think 2wice because he’s a defender that has a high vertical. He is actually right. That’s all he’s really trying to say. That’s why BJ keep asking him over and over. Guards and wings always attack the rim and have to be conscious of who’s there. Pj isn’t a rim protector. No adjustments have to be made. 😂 just make the layup. Aaron and mpj you’ll have to adjust due to vertical and height. Simple what he was saying.

@@huntleycameron4830PJ is literally an inch shorter. Though AG has more of a vertical leap, that doesn’t necessarily equate to blocked shots. Timing, positioning is more valuable. AG has never averaged 1 block per game in a season. PJ is better defensively

Some players have better stats because they are challenged more due to them not being that good at defense. AG is knows as a defender and high flyer. What are you on about. He is better than PJ as a defender. And yes timing and positioning is also valuable, which is why Scottie Barnes and draymond excel so does Aaron. PJ is a shooter . Not a defender. Pretty clear what he saying. They both right to some extent. Gil says you don’t need rim protectors exactly but someone can alter a shot, Al horford is the same height as pj but better at protecting the rim or even JT is better than pj as well as far as altering a layup or dunk. Every playoff team in the west has a better Pf than pj.
