To be fair, I had digestive issues before going keto. But they continued the 9 months I was keto. I fixed it by going carnivore. It fixed all of my digestive issues, including 10 years of having nothing but watery stools.
Perfect timing, I started low carb a month ago and eased into adding MCT oil to my coffee: 1 week at 1/2 tsp, 1 week at 1tsp, then jumped to 1 T cuz I thought I was handling it just fine...made Becky’s Keto coffee recipe and felt so nauseous and sick! Too much fat at once, I guess! Need to cut back. Made coffee this morning with just 1T and felt awful, I guess that’s still too much! Will cut back to 1/2 T and see...
Great video one thing I noticed in my husband much to our surprise very good surprise I was excessively burping after eating totally went away when I went on keto and I chose to do the intermittent fasting which has been a great blessing thank you for this video!!!
Hello Dr Becky & Dr Keith from Canada 🇨🇦. Love ALL your videos‼️. I purchased your book Dr Becky through Apple iTunes. 👏👏👏. Always enjoy your videos! I lost 60 lbs Doing Keto, TRF, IF from June 2019-May 2020. (I have 5-7 lbs I want to shed. Going on 63. I am trying to keep my total carbs under 30 and will see how that goes. I like switching up my TRF everyday too. I usually do 1-2 days fasts every 3 months. I also got to get back to doing 24-36 hr fasts weekly).
Please do a video on low carb for those who are underweight or at maintenance but want to keep good health. What is the optimal ratio of macros and what are your thoughts on time restricted eating such as 16:8 and omad
Excellent information! Menopausal (mid-section) weight!!!! What to do? Trying low carb but weight not budging at all! Would love some info about this topic. Not many touch on this subject. Thanks for ALL your info!
Dr Mindy Pelz is also a great resource. She has lots of info on menopause. She also just release a new book on this topic. I’m in the same boat. It’s hard.
@@jliloveyou2214 Coming back to tell you THANK YOU for turning me on to Dr. Mindy. She is what I've been looking for, for a very long time. I joined her Resetter group & submerging myself into everything from her RU-vid & her new book. I just love 2 Fit Docs & Dr. Mindy's. They give you the science, not the fad. Thanks again!
I started with Whole 30, with no fruit, to correct high blood sugar( technically, type 2 diabetes, untreated, lol). I lost almost 100 lbs over a year and a half, fixed my blood sugar and blood pressure problems, and several other things. Learned about keto along the way, so when I hit the insurmountable plateau, eventually, I went keto. After 6 months, NO WEIGHT LOSS 🙁🙁. After almost a year ( not always in ketosis, but still eating that way- no grains, legumes, sugars, eat high fat, low carb) and NOW I'm having gall bladder problems! I've NEVER had gall bladder problems! I actually had a gall bladder attack the other night, in so much pain I was up ALL night, almost went to the ER at 4am, ugh! So I ditched the high fat, keeping the low carb, and the rest that helped in the beginning and gonna see what happens! I was only 25 lbs from my TOTAL goal when covid hit, now I've gained 20 lbs, and I'm soooo discouraged to have 45 lbs to deal with😥 I'm having a lot of trouble getting motivated this time, since everything that was motivating me the first time is Gone with the Covid😥
You really did so well too! I am not a lover of keto but some people really love it and it works for them. You will find your way again and remember everyone is different and it’s about finding a life style you enjoy and can stick with. You have good will power. Best to you.
Goat cheese has less lactose than cow's milk cheese. While I'm lactose intolerant, I have no problem with goat cheddar or goat mozzarella. And goat cheese, unlike cow's milk cheese, has the added benefit of having about 1/3 MCT fats, which encourage the body to create ketones. For sweeteners, I use stevia. Some people don't like the taste, but to others, like myself, it tastes fine.
I've had digestive issues at times, and over time they slowly disappeared even while consuming cooked cruciferous veg, my fav. While doing low carb, IF, I introduced new non starcy vegetables, nuts, Unsweetend yogurt. What I noticed the common element in most of my new food choices is potassium. Maybe I was lacking potassium for my digestive issues, or could be its just coincidence. Anyways great video again. I feel for Maddie she didn't get her treat like last time. Thanks 🫂 🇨🇦
@@onBview It could be a combination of things. You might be gluten intolerant, that can cause bloating so watch out for gluten in foods. Which means you would have to eliminate refine carbohydrates, such as breads, rice, (pasta the worst) cereals, Also carbonated drinks don't help, they promote bloating eg. soda and beer. If you eat fast your gulping air - bloating. Things that helped me, foods rich in potassium and probiotics found in yogurts. Probiotics are good bacteria for your gut, but I'm not a nutritionist. All the above helped me. Good luck.
I have IBS, and have problems with veggies, some fruits - basically fiber. I don't bloat (I don't think). I feel like a plumber's roto rooter is shredding my insides (is that a form of bloating even though I don't get gas or my stomach doesn't expand? ). It's terribly painful. Cooking sometimes helps, unless my intestines are already angry. It seems to be improving with IF. I've learned I tolerate some forms of lettuce better than others. I'm able to tolerate 3 salads a week, as long as they aren't on consecutive days. I'd like to build up to the veggie levels on 0-1-2-3. @DrBecky, do you have tips for this?
Yes, another great and indeed fun episode. The obvious (not to be forgotten), it is the low carbohydrate intake that put you in ketosis, NOT the fat. Thus, do not over do the fat intake -- reduce fat, and maybe just avoid all diary products for period of time if you have a digestive problem. Be careful about the intake on oils. Use olive oil on the greens and use coconut oil or butter when cooking. There are many fat alternatives like fat fish, fat meat, bacon and avocado -- no need for all these cheeses and fat bombs cookies in the diet. Just my 2c.
Any advice for those of us with no gallbladder and a gastric bypass? I struggle with digestion and probiotics don’t seem to help. Maybe I don’t know enough about probiotics.
I begun (about 2-3 months ago) utilizing lo carb....with the idea of eventually doing keto. I've been IFing (my friends are very old school and are horrified at this despite my having lost 15 pounds already). I'd mentioned this to my PPP several times over the last couple of years and just get a skeptical look from her. Anyway, y'all did tests on different sugar subs a couple of years ago and was wondering if y'all are willing to do that again with some of the newer things that are out...notably the King Arthur Baking Sugar Alternative and the really new All Purpose In The Raw sugar sub.
On the sugar alcohols, if a salad dressing powdered mix has maltodextrin way down on the list of ingredients (ie, not in the first 3 ingredients), is it likely ok to use it if mixed with healthy oils instead of PUFA oils? (Ok as in may not affect keto or blood sugars very much, even though maltodextrin has higher insulin response than sugar.)
