Thanks for the great video. I've got a little pro tip. A couple of these recipes you said would continue to crisp up a little bit after you remove them from the waffle iron if you leave them on a plate. And although this is true, it's typically only the top side that gets crispy, the bottom side steams itself on the plate and continues to be soft. To fix or remedy this, take them out of the waffle maker and set them on a cooling rack with airflow underneath. That way both the top and the bottom will crisp up.
I bought a Dash waffle maker and it was delivered today. I made my first ever Chaffle and it was your Garlic Parmesan Chaffle recipe. OUTSTANDING! They turned out crispy but cheesy on the inside which is exactly what I hoped for. Up until several weeks ago I had no idea what a Chaffle was. I’ve been missing out but not any longer. Thanks for the video and recipes.
So great to hear that, Lynn! No more missing out, haha. If you haven't already, I hope you'll subscribe to my channel. It really helps me as a creator and you'll know when I post more easy keto recipe videos -- every 1-2 weeks. :) Thanks for the support!
I made the basic, but let me say it was not basic!! I’ve followed many other recipes and yours was the best!! That crunch was so good! Made a BLT with avocado . 🤤
I never comment on any RU-vid video. But I just made the basic chaffle and used it for my eggs and hot sausage w/ a drizzle of sugar free syrup and it might be my top favorite new keto dish. Thanks !
I was just munching your basic chaffle with mixed herbs, when I thought I must finally find out how to pronounce the word "chaffle". Went on YT and your recipe I just made (not for the first time) came up on top. Funny that!! I love this recipe, so easy, fast and yum. Thank you from New Zealand Maya!
I take cocoa and cream cheese and make a dip for the churro one, another great dip for them is cream cheese and swerve brown sugar. I think I will try the churro one with shredded sliced apple or a TBL SP of apple sauce in the chaffle then did in the carmel cream cheese mix yum!!! Thank you
Oh my goodness. How have these not been in my life before!? I need this. Am T2D so trying to avoid carbs wherever possible, Can't wait to try this recipe out!
I just made your basic recipe with the 2tsp coconut flour instead. My batter was much thinner than your demo and I'm glad I resisted the temptation to add more flour. It's delicious! I only changed to keto from the regular Aussie diet a week ago and have been craving carbs, but this will work beautifully 😍 It's even good on its own. Thanks again ❤
I really liked the idea of chafflles but I tasted too much egg so I started using just egg whites instead of a whole egg, no I taste on egg at all. This has been the best video for chaffles in my opinion.
Thanks for sharing! I find that the ones with added almond flour/etc are not super eggy even with the whole egg, but could see how using only egg whites could help for ones that don't have any flours added.
Just tried the plain one and made a tuna salad sandwich with it. It’s so easy to make and so delicious. Thank you for sharing and will definitely try other flavours for sure. Awesome video.
Maya, I would first like to say that you've a very beautiful name! I just tried my first 2 Chaffles. I did not have shredded but only grated Mozzarella so I used that. It was a bit soft so I added a teaspoon more of almond flour and it came out just PERFECT!!! Btw, after they were cooked I place them on a plate and made the same sandwich as you did and they remained crispy until the very last bite! Thank you so much for these wonderful recipes; I'll be making each one of them! I've already subscribed. Thanks again and God bless 🙏🌹
Hope you liked them, Brendan! I believe the original egg and cheese version came from Reddit, these versions with other ingredients were created by me :)
I have only just found your RU-vid channel, but I have your book and I lost 32+kgs in less than 12 months. Your Cookbook and website were/are my go to for all meals Keto. These look great. I'll be making these for a friend who has been forced to go Keto for his Health. I think he'll love these......Can you make them and then freeze them for later or must they be eaten fresh?
Awww, thank you and congratulations on the amazing progress! It means a lot to hear that about my books and recipes. 😍 Yes, these freeze very well and you can just pop them in the toaster from frozen!
Oh my goodness! Thank you! I love chaffles and have been making them but this is an awesome video with such great variations! I'm definitely going to try these! I only have the powdered and granulated monkfruit. Will this be the same as your sweetener? Will it be measure for measure? Thank you for your help.
You're very welcome, Evelyn! Measurements will vary by brand and different ones behave differently. You can learn the differences here: www.wholesomeyum.com/sugar-substitutes/ and see my sweetener conversion chart here: www.wholesomeyum.com/natural-low-carb-sweeteners-guide-conversion-chart/
Great recipes, I printed them so they will be handy. I already have 2 or 3 other Keto sweeteners so will the measurements be the same for them as for the Besti? Thank you so much for the video.
Hi Carla, It depends on the brand. Results can also vary with different brands, though in this recipe the impact is less significant than baking recipes where more of it is used. You can check my keto sweetener guide here for conversions and information: www.wholesomeyum.com/natural-low-carb-sweeteners-guide-conversion-chart/
I came across you videos because you don’t send me elsewhere to find the ingredients. I just subscribe to your channel and I hope you’re still around because I gave up on Keto years ago and I have now gone back on it .That is my biggest thing because I don’t have to go to another site. It’s just right there for me and I enjoy all your videos. Thank you so much.. 🥰🫶🏼🌺🌈💕
Awww, thank you Mary! Yes, I'm still around. On a break right now from videos as I work on figuring out my video setup after moving across the country, but I'll have more coming! In the meantime I post multiple recipes every week on my site, Wholesomeyum.com :)
Hope you like them, Randy! I don't usually need to use cooking spray because the nonstick surface on my waffle maker is still very good, but if yours is worn or you want to be on the safe side, you can spray it.
I just made my 1st Chaffle yesterday. I bought a mini waffle iron today, it will be dedicated to making chaffles. Do you think I could use cottage in place of some or all of the mozzarella in the sweet version?
I haven't tried that, but I don't think cottage cheese would make a suitable substitute for mozzarella. You could use it instead of the cream cheese in the chaffle recipes that use cream cheese though.
Any cheese will work! Mozzarella is the most neutral and what I recommend for the plain chaffles, but I used others in some if the other versions in the video.
Our products are made in the USA! Some ingredients are from other countries if those ingredients only grow there. We do have them on Amazon already. You can get the almond flour here: amzn.to/3msCGN8 and Besti here: amzn.to/2UNr1NI
I purchased a $16.00, 2-waffle cheapie from my local Superstore/Loblaws and it works just fine. Wasn't sure if I would like chaffles enough to commit to a more expensive waffle maker. These are a winner and I'll most likely be consuming chaffles forever. I might invest in a more high-end waffle maker when my cheap one bites the dust.
If you make this if you do this ahead of time can you save it can you make up a couple of them and put it in an icebox is it safe I mean does these waffles save in the icebox
Hi Monica, yes, you can make them ahead and freeze them as well. There are storage instructions and options for these here: www.wholesomeyum.com/keto-chaffles-recipe/
Once again can you prepare this stuff like a day or sorry I had and make up your sandwiches and then pull them back out and well that will will the the waffles that you do make where they stay pretty hard
Hi Elisheva, There is no sugar in this recipe and keto avoids sugar. You can learn more about how it works here: www.wholesomeyum.com/low-carb-keto-diet-plan-how-to-start-a-low-carb-diet/
This may be a ridiculous question, but can you freeze these? I was thinking of maybe freezing and put them in the microwave just to defrost them, then lightly toast in the toaster. I really want to incorporate these in my meal prep.
Hi Susan, A carnivore diet uses ONLY animal products, so none of these recipes would be strictly carnivore, sorry. You could make the "original" chaffle (first one in the video) with only eggs and cheese if you like, but the texture is better with the few other added ingredients.
i dont want to go back to eating much cheese...its full of saturated fat and salt...and terrible to the cows....so will look for tother ways to keep the carb load so high
Sorry to hear that, Malta! Which version did you make? Did you change anything? That can happen if you use only eggs and cheese, but the versions in the video shouldn't taste like an omelette.
OMG, I can't wait to make the pumpkin chaffle! Also, everything is great with bacon. Yum. I really like how you explain why certain ingredients are used. Thanks for the ideas.
Thanks for ideas about making chaffles I bought this waffle maker just to make these options being a diabetic I prefer low carb and zero sugar recipes,
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing these great ideas / recipes! I've got Hashimotos and bread is out for me! Gonzo! History! This will definitely help make my life taste better! Thank you so much Maya!
I finally broke down and tried these. They are god sent. I was brought up with bread at every meal and no matter how you try a hamburger is not the same in a bowl. Make a chaffel grill your burger add toppings heaven. Also great with sausage and scrambled eggs forget about egg McMuffin! Thanks so much again😋
Just received this recipe in my email and I was trying to find the ingredients online and I don't see where the wholesome yum psyllium husk powder is available on your website at all. Is there something else I can replace it with?
Just realized you guys have a site. Going over to check it out. Love the videos. Only 8 months in to keto and learning a lot of great recipes. Thanks for sharing yours
So glad to hear that! :) If you haven't already, I hope you'll subscribe. It really helps me as a creator and you'll know when I post more easy healthy and keto recipe videos -- every 1-2 weeks. :)
Hi Joanne, I'm glad you like the recipes. Ads support the free content, it takes a team of 6 people (who need to make a living) to keep everything running on my site. For those that prefer an ad-free experience, I have Wholesome Yum Plus here: www.wholesomeyum.com/wholesome-yum-plus/ There is also a "jump to recipe" button at the top of every post if you prefer to jump right to the recipe card, but I strive to be helpful in the content above it and not just fill it with fluff.
