I started off strict carnivore for the first 2 years and now I dabble into ketovore sometimes, although I feel my best when I stick to a strict carnivore way of eating. I eat Carnivore in the house but Ketovore when I’m out. Ketovore, for me, is a low oxalate salad with olive oil & vinegar + salt. Maybe broccoli & butter. And steak-no oils or rubs. Beyond occasional variety it saves me from answering stupid Qs from people who want to poke holes in my support/5-yr success.

That seems very sustainable without having to cram your entire relationship with food or your identity with food in such a restrictive way. I am documenting the last bit of my weight, loss journey and right now doing carnivore. I definitely feel restricted, but I also noticed that I feel great, my energy levels are better, I am fuller for longer, I’m down 9 pounds into week three of eating this way and I don’t have crazy carb cravings. I can deal with the restrictions because this way of eating is providing me with the health benefits I am after including the weight loss. Back to the restricting… I miss certain things like food combining. While I don’t miss processed carbs, I do miss Whole Foods that have carbs in them that you can’t have on the carnivore diet like fresh tomatoes, onion, pickles, etc. I am continuing on my CARNIVOREd journey until I go on vacation to Greece in a couple weeks… Then I plan to eat Whole Foods while on vacation. When I get back, I’m going into keto or ketovore-ish.

@@natimarivelez you’ll be eating this way as long as you want to be healthy & not have extra weight so, if you tolerate carbs from veg and miss them, maybe it’s an ancestrally appropriate food choice. If you feel worse, change back to carnivore and try to focus on food as fuel while you enjoy the company at your table. Listen to your body: it is wise & amazing 🥩

Right on time. Tomorrow is my 30th day of my 1st Carnivore 30 day 100% commitment and I am trying to decide if I want to continue or add some things to it. I have lost 11 pounds(19 left to be where I want to be) and feel great, but I really miss veggies. The problem that I wanted to solve is acid reflux and that is gone. Overall at 71 my health is great, but I want to keep it that way. Thank you for the video.

Congrats on the 30 days, that is not easy to do! And just listen to the body, if you try to reintroduce new foods you will know right away if it serves you or it it doesn't. Great to hear about your results, please do keep sharing!

a) My opinion is that Garlic, Ginger, Onion, Turmeric, Fennugreek and natural herbs grown in soil are ok. In any case, they are only added to give a different taste. The carbs are close to zero. b) I eat cruciferous vege's about once a week for a change and honestly they create gas. c) I'm on a Ketovore lifestyle with 95% animal. Once a month I have a drink of milk and a slice of cheese. I'm not against dairy at all but I just don't consume much of it. d) I do OMAD with IF for health. e) I eat seafood f) I use natural sea salt. g) Daily I have a shot of pure Norwegian Cod Liver OIl. h) I drink my own rain water and live in an off grid cabin in the woods far from people. I guess people don't need to know that :-) i) And fresh farm eggs. I think Ketovore and Carnivore are equally wonderful. People need to choose what suits them best :-)

off grid living is something I have wanted to explore! kudos to you. I live in the urban jungle of Brooklyn, NY and It's all I've ever known with summer visits to the Catskills but I just want to leave it all behind, move to Utah or South Dakota and call it day

I began my journey with keto at age 60 and it changed my life. I lost 20 lbs. (now weigh 125 lbs) and got rid of brain fog and most of the inflammation throughout my body. I thought I was going to have to have hip and knee surgery because they were hurting so bad but within 6 months of eating keto all my aches and pains were gone. Thus far, I have not been able to do carnivore for more than 3 weeks. I miss my basic green salad with romaine lettuce, cucumber, feta cheese, greek olives & olive oil. I don't eat other vegetables but I love a Greek salad. Thank you for your informative video. You are beautiful and have such beautiful skin.

after 4 years carnivore diet, tried everything for the leg cramps, now one month in just some FRUIT and no more leg cramp, I wan't no supplement's and electrolyte from store, all as god tented

Self experimentation is key to finding thresholds. Adding bit of carbs after resistance training worked very well for me. My gut can't handle fiber very well. I do about 85% carnivore and rest from veggie or things like coconut water.

I do better with veggies alongside my animal foods. It helps me with regularity and I prefer the variety in my dishes. 🙂

I do a Ketovore diet, the Dr Wahl Protocol for MS. I have seen dramatic improvement in walking. I can’t have any eggs or dairy of any kind. I Push the sulfur foods, the leafy greens, berries only fruit, push coconut oil and animal fats.

I’m 90% carnivore at all times, and 10% fruit at times. I don’t eat fruit everyday, but like a few times a month. If that’s ketovore then I’m cool with it.

I am carnivore but still regularly use mustard, MCT, coconut and olive oil. I make a terrific mayo that is extremely anit-inflammatory. That is the only thing I won't give up on carnivore, and coffee. I do go back to ketogenic when travelling.

@@Paulog2003 Nature. 99.9% are all man made. Do research, about anti nutrition, phytic acid, ....etc. fiber damages gut and interferes with digestion.

I do ketovore, a loose version....for now, money issues are a problem for a better diet. But carnivore IS better, what people want to do or the goals they have, that is something that has no relation to health, either it is a different goal on how well they want to feel or how healthy or the things they like, health is health and carnivore is healthier.

I learnt today that I'am Ketovore. Meat, fish, dairy and herbs. And coffee and even rarely tea May I'am try hardcore carnivore cutting out herbs and dairy. Cause dairy has more carbs as you might think.

Consider there is probably a reason why most of the world has seasons where part of the year plants don't grow. Animal products are available year round, plants available anywhere from zero to most of the year in most climates except those close to the equator. Again, likely your genetics play a role. A lot of the immigrants to the US in the 1700's and 1800's came from cold climates where plants were limited during periods of the year. You could call this the plant detox part of the year. Carbohydrates are pro-inflammatory, which is beneficial as long as it's not all the time. Building muscle requires putting the body in an inflammatory state. Growth is inflammatory. But you need to balance it with periods of reduction and recycling. This is also why intermittent fasting is effective. People who have been in a chronically inflammatory state likely need to be in a period of reduction and recycling for a while until their bodies are back to baseline.

I've been shifting towards a carnivore/ketovore diet as I phase out non-animal foods from my fridge/freezer. I've been looking at the diet for a while now because it just seems to make the most sense when it comes to the most natural diet humans have had for most of our evolution, and the health benefits people seem to be experiencing are the most consistent I've seen among any other diet. But I gotta say, the one thing that perplexes me is this vague and ambiguous reference to "healing" that is used by virtually every advocate of the diet. It's starting to feel cult-like.

What about high carb diet before being active during day? I feel i can still be in ketosis and feel great, eat carbs in the day and meat/fat toward the night is the way to go for me when im active, and then 1-2 day fasts once in a while, next is to try a low calcium diet to try and get my body to do some bone reapsorption

Ketovore is considered animal-based keto, but it is just simply Keto. Carnivore is animal foods only. The only real myth is vegetarian keto.

While I think that Saladino has "lost the plot" a bit with his heavy consumption of tropical fruits and honey every day, I do think he has a point that fruit is much less harmful than any other plant foods.

After experimentation I have come to agree with Paul Saladino. I eat a mostly carnivore diet, 2 bananas, 2 kiwis, 2 avocados and 2 mangos a week has helped me to deal with this way of eating (eaten on 2 days so 5 days with no fruit) I also have honey in a coffee at the weekend and sometimes in a camomile tea. I reached my goal weight after a year on carnivore, lots 30kg. Now just playing around with it.

@@kylemcarthur Yes, it's fun to experiment. Personally I'm fine with berries now and then plus non-sweet fruit like avocados and olives. The tropical fruit is just too much sugar for me.

@@foxyauragems6146 I did live in the tropics and I was surfing a lot and eating carnivore Saladino style with lots of homegrown fruit for three years. Guess what happened. The cancer that had been in remission for ten years came back. I am so over people thinking they know who they are talking to on the net and mindlessly putting them down without bothering to find out.
