@@ethanweeter2732 When Harvick left RCR I was devastated. However he DID win a cup his 1st year with SHR. Even still, hurt to see Harvick leave Childress. It felt like another piece of Dale died when Harvick left.
All those SHR employees need jobs next year so i think theres a sense of urgency by the shop and the drivers Its negative motivation but its the only motivation it seems SHR has had in a while
I know Kevin and Tony are friends but Kevin tells it like it is. As a Kevin Harvick fan it is sad to see SHR fall like they have in just a few years. But let’s be honest from 2014-2020 it was Harvick and the 4 team doing the bulk of the work. That 4 team was a powerhouse not SHR as a whole.
I think Tony checked out on SHR. He was out drag racing and running in Cleeters Indy race two weekends ago. Then he is out dirt and drag racing somewhere else this past weekend. Tony has already said he finds no joy in NASCAR and their constant gimmicks have affected racing, he hates the cookie cutter cars. The total lack of imagination from massaging gray areas now just off put so many veterans. Some are just hanging on to make money others want those charters permanent which would give them a vote in the future and an ownership stake in NASCAR.
@@midwesttrainchasers8587Kevin’s tough love. He’s gonna tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear. I would rather have friends like that
@@ThorneyGryffon and Gene has been focused a lot on his F1 team. Its no wonder they're a little dysfunctional because the Managers are probably not sure if they're doing exactly what the owners actually want.
The 1-2 combo of Ford saying NO to Stewart getting Kyle Larson into their car and then him following it up with a Championship at Hendrick was the moment Stewart disconnected. That timed with Gene's focus to F1, its been downhill from there.
My question is when Ford wouldnt let SHR hire Kyle Larson was that the straw that broke the camels back and then that’s when they truly started to fall apart that’s what happened and it pissed Tony off and he washed his hands of it all after SHRs contract expires with Ford
I agree with that as well because Tony wanted him so bad on his team and when that didn't happen I think Tony was on his way out after that. Especially the fact ford wouldn't take Kyle
@@johnhaas2523Or maybe Tony has been a liar for the past year about sticking with NASCAR, and no mention of changing manufacturers. Now, does he even care? Perhaps you know more than we have heard, straight from Tony's mouth.
@@TheTonyStark3000 Sold out to Ford, then goes back to Chevy 😂... You must really hated it when Mark Martin left Roush Ford for DEI and Hendrick Chevrolet.
@@T.N.D.88I cannot blame him, driving for a team like HMS with their amazing NASA like program would be a dream come true. Maybe Harvick will pull a Martin and drive for HMS to end his career.
What he should do. I think he could afford it and should take the leap, but with the fact teams are losing money, it takes time to recoup money or you may never recoup money.
Yep, as a Briscoe fan first and a SHR fan second, you can just tell Ford telling him “No Larson” was the turning point. Then the dude jumps on Hendrick and wins a championship his first year there. Tony checked out after that and it shows
The Goodyear tire failure this weekend was really weird. At first, before the cars touched the track, no one thought the tires would last past 30 laps, then after practice their supposed life span increased to 50 laps, at the start of the heat race the next day the booth said 75 laps, then by the end of the day they didn't wear at all within 100 laps. It really baffles me how Goodyear was so far off the mark and brought a tire that they thought wouldn't last 30 laps, but ended up lasting the entire stage. Sure, the teams adapted and I bet laying down so much rubber, smoothing out the standpaper like repave didn't help, but for Goodyear to be that far off their estimations tells me whatever aimulator or data they are basing their calculatiojs off of needs to be re-calibrated because they missed the mark ENTIRELY last weekend.
I think the tire they brought will be perfect at any other short track if they are running at a track temp of 90 degrees or more. I don't care what they said about the abrasiveness they tried to get in the new pavement, it's still new pavement and was never going to create excessive wear, especially at night with a 70 or so degree track temp. They need to make another, even softer, tire for new pavement and low track temp races. They also should bring at least two options to every race and select the one that will wear the fastest based on raceday conditions, in case it is significantly hotter/colder than expected.
They need to start testing in similar conditions that would be during the race. For example the NWB tire test was run during the day. But the all star race was run in the evening. Track temps were cooler and that was what caused the zero fall off with the option tire.
SHR just needs to close. Sell the charters to a team who’s trying to win. There’s no heart anymore. Something happened in the latter half of 2020 and it hasn’t recovered. I’d be pissed if I were Harvick. He could have won more races or a championship.
Weird to say but was a huge Aric Almiorla fan, grew up in my hometown. The peak of SHR was Harvick, Busch, Almiorla and Bowyer and its been tragic to see the down fall but it was there own undoing (Stewart and Haas)
Tony Stewart is disillusioned with NASCAR. You think about him losing Kyle Larson, NASCAR taking Eldora off the schedule, creating the SRX series, and the number of times that their cars have been fined/penalized. The last few years have showed that Stewart simply doesn't care about the sport. His enjoyment in the NHRA proves that
If SHR does have a firesale and ceases to exist, I can’t help but think and go back to the times David Land’s predicitons of Stewart having a foot out the door a year and a half ago. 😳
Being a die hard Tony Stewart fan and a moderate fan for Harvick, it pains me that Harvick says that about Tony. They’re friends, they’ve both drove for each other teams, they’ve had disagreements, but they’ve always made up. This one is kinda hard for me swallow. Tony will always be my guy. He was my favorite driver for as long as I can remember. My favorite color is orange. Is that because Tony drove an orange car for the first part of his career? Possibly. But, it seems Tony has been distant from NASCAR ever since he got married. Just like when your buddy finds a girl and spends all his time with her, you never hear from him. Harvick is just calling it like he sees it. And that’s what I love about Harvick. Tony and Kevin both always spoke their minds. And that’s why I love, someone who doesn’t mince words and lets it all hang out. Can they come off as an asshole? Yes, but you know where they stand and they leave no room for interpretation. They’re crystal clear. I can see why Tony wants to drag race. He did the same thing when he went to Nascar. He left IRL in the dust to chase glory in Nascar. Now he’s doing that in the NHRA? And can you blame him? His wife had success in NHRA, and he wants to as well. He only has to be good for a few seconds. He’s not the racer he used to be, but we all get old and lose our edge, no matter what it’s about. Hobbies change when you date/get married sometimes. At least it’s in racing. At least he’s not going to be a fashion designer or something. Lol
The biggest question is who takes over Ford’s Xfinity series program if SHR is done or switches manufacturers? Remember they provide technical assistance and support to Fords Xfinity series teams.
I think Harvick's comments to me sound like Gene is more focused on and cares more about F1 than Nascar and Stewart is the same but with NHRA drag racing. So I am starting to think, unless either owner says otherwise, that those rumors of SHR going completely defunct/bought out seem more likely now.
lol yeah there was multiple lanes of but still no passing, idk if that’s your constellation prize at the end of the day Eric , just up the horsepower that 4th manufacturer ain’t coming anyways
I remember 2 or 3 years ago in "playoffs" race, a SHR car caught a penalty for laying off to let a teammate pass. Tony was fired up in the post-race interview and said he was done with NASCAR and how that was gonna free up his weekends or something to that effect. Looks like he probably meant it for real.
I hope that SHR surprises us all and they restructure and go back to being a powerhouse organization, It would be a shame to see them go! I think these tires are perfect for cars with 800+ H.P. I hope they run a higher HP test this year, They have tried everything but that!
Off topic, but in a way, I wish Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was able to continue in the All Star race, and 2015 Matt Kenseth to Joey Logano Kyle Busch. I really wish. That would've been sweet revenge.
Tony steward is a co owner of 4 nascar cup teams and seeing him at the track is like seeing the pope. Rare appearances . NHRA is his focus. Meanwhile his nascar teams are running 30th
Who cares how close NASCAR finishes are when half of it is manufactured BS through stages, phantom cautions and "overtime"? F1 isn't always the best racing, but at least outside of DRS, it's actual racing without carnival attraction gimmicks.
@@pdxholmesF1 has several gimmicks in itself. Sprint races exist now and they’re selling out big time to America and the Middle East. Those two areas make up like a third of the schedule there now.
@pdxholmes who cares about f1 it is not actual racing neither it's 1 second 1 corner less than 1 lap single passes every 5 laps then back to nothing that's not racing it's just boredom you 🤡
I would put Chastain at 10. With a top 7 finish. Bowman is Hendrick driver and didn't even make the all star race. Can’t be in my top 10 for that reason alone lol other than that hard to argue your top 10
What are the chances of this happening, low. But would it make sense and would fans love it, yes. Tony sells his share of SHR and gets out. Gene Haas stays on but more of a figurehead, name, and sponsor. They sell 2 charters and Dale Jr buys Tony's share. The team switches back to Chevy and keeps Noah and Josh as their drivers. Would make sense for Dale to buy in especially with the fact of 2 of his former drivers are there. The team becomes EHR (Earnhardt-Haas Racing) with Dale Jr ane Joe Custer being the main people running the team.
I do think that SHR will sell two charters. Maybe two teams get one of each. 23/11 and RFK possibly. It will be interesting to see. Obviously the fall off beneath the surface is just as visible as above the surface.
@@TheNewfieGamer I was thinking about them at first but some good points have been brought up about 23/11 and RFK. Trackhouse doesn't seem to be as aggressive as the other two with how the organization is taking some steps back and stretching themselves to signing drivers and needing to partner up with other organizations to put those drivers in a car seat. 23/11 has expanded with space and so has RFK. They seem to be a bit more ready
Sad to see SHR crumble. I like the idea Goodyear will get more aggressive, but bottom line if tires start to blister and fall apart, that’s not a good look for the brand if people don’t understand why the issues are happening. If Goodyear tires are blistering every race, uninformed fans will look at that as a Goodyear quality issue. But yes, tire falloff is key. And option tires at most tracks seem like a great idea.
Bristol only happened because the teams couldn't plan for it. Shoot even that race they managed to get about 20 more laps out of those tires by the end of that race just with inrace adjustments.
I have mixed feelings about the Stewart-Haas thing. I liked Tony Stewart as a driver, and I liked the idea of another team with the speed to be competitive on a weekly basis. But, there's no denying that they've fallen off, at least in the Cup series, and it's like everyone just sort of forgot how to win races. I'd rather see them call it quits than devolve further.
honestly this season Goodyears gained a bit of respect from me. We've seen them making the effort on their end to improve the racing, and I honestly believe they're doing way more behind the scenes that we don't quite know about yet. If they keep going the way they are, I wouldn't be surprised if by this time next year we're actually championing Goodyear over hating on them like normal
SHR will sell 2 of the 4 charters. 1 to RFK the other to any other rumor teams. 23XI is most likely. The organization and other 2 charters with their drivers and pit crews will go to Front Row
Hendrick has better structure because they have Nascar, fox, and nbc in their back pocket. Shr might not exist next year because of Nascar driving them away. Stewart is interested in NHRA, and Haas is more interested in F1. Stewart might sell his shares to Hamlin to make 23XI a 4 car Toyota team.
6:12 And that's why you test them in various temperatures first. What they could and should have done was bring the regular prime tire to this race and an optional one that was extremely overly aggressive and if it happened to be junk and only last 10 laps then they could have all went back to the prime no harm no foul. But of course that would be too easy so instead we're going the nascar/goodyear route.
I mean we r talking about a repave so tires aren’t gonna wear as bad no matter how bad the tires wear. I think if NASCAR were to run this tire setup at Richmond we’ll see more of a difference in tire degradation. Aero clearly wasn’t the issue since the diffuser and spoiler r basically non existent, I’m kinda wondering if something that could help is maybe taking weight out the cars. Ya might have some slight better racing since drivers aren’t having to completely slow down a semi truck all the time in the corners with how much better braking capability these cars have and honestly it MIGHT help with the weird G forces drivers r facing. Especially as something simple as going over a fast curb at Watkins Glen. I mean hell a Late Model and Super Late Model weight like 2900-2700ibs, same with the cars from NASCAR Canadian Series and Euro Series, and the Canadian Series is usually really good at short tracks and road courses/street courses equally. Meanwhile NASCAR still has their cars from ARCA, ARCA East and West, Trucks, Xfinity, and Cup all still rock 3400ibs. Maybe time shed some weight off it.
SHR owners and leadership are just dissatisfied in the NASCAR Cup Series. Negotiations on the new television package didn’t go the way these car owners wanted. The Cup car package has actually turned out to be more expensive than anyone anticipated. And the Ford support and on track performance has been disappointing this season. The aerodynamics on this generation of Ford sucks on the super speedways. The tires and the issue of not getting back to pit road after a simple flat has cost SHR dearly. The cost of maintaining the high-level of personnel at the shop and in the pits has gotten so expensive that it is overwhelming. So, with a combination of those issues and more, Tony likely sells out his portion and walks away from SHR. Then, Mr. Haas has to decide if he stays and brings in a new partner or if he sells out and walks away himself. I hate all of this uncertainty for the Cup Series drivers. Josh, Noah, Briscoe, and Ryan all have great potential for the future in the NASCAR Cup Series.Riley Herbst may potentially turn out to be one of the best someday. Unfortunately, Cole has cost SHR a ton of money and the driver hasn’t lived up to all of the hype about his potential. Tony Stewart and Gene Haas are icons in NASCAR who pulled this organization together in 2008. It sure would be a shame for it all to fall apart after sixteen years. JMO
Crazy that Goodyear didn’t understand their own tire test results that the 22 did. They talked in the broadcast about the 22 running 63 laps during the practice. How did Goodyear not know this was going to happen?
I will say I don't know whats going to happen to SHR I'm just hoping that all drivers will be ok no matter how it goes. And as far as the tires I noticed how Larson pitted at the lap 150 caution and he had fresher red tires than Joey and Denny who stayed out and Larson could only get up to 3rd and just stalled out so the tires are most definitely a problem because it basically did the same thing as the primary tire if you don't take advantage of the fresh tire's against those on older tires you will stall out even though you have way fresher tires than everyone. What we need is the tires from the gen 6 car and what the trucks and Xfinity are still using if you pit while everyone stays out your fresh tires will be faster until those who hasn't pitted and then they will be faster than you until you put for your fresher tires
I mean you got Tony doing NHRA and SRX, I still think he’s pissed with FORD about Larson but I mean what sense would it make to get Gragson to then just give that all up
I hate tire tests! Ty Gibbs and Joey Lagano did the tire tests at North Wilkesboro and they led all the laps during the open and all-star race! Unfair advantage
Big fan, watch everyday, and no ties to SHR... But you’re speaking confidently about an organization you’ve never worked a day at… Speculation is the nature of sports commentary, but I think you’re better.
SHR continues to fall apart at the seams with Kevin Harvick Throwing Shade at his former team, Dale Earnhardt Jr is completely off his meds when he suggests that the race, if it was a race, was actually an okay show at North Wilkesboro, and Goodyear is going to fail at the new tire once again. Face it! Short track racing across the country is essentially dead because of NASCAR and Goodyear's incompetence!
Right now I think Hass sells everything maybe to a new team or to a current team. TrackHouse gets one of the charters Front Row gets one of the charters 2311 gets one of the charters the other charter will either go to JRM or Beard Motorsport or the money team both teams have said they want to go full time or to the 30 car that’s yet to show up
Crazy Prediction: SHR closes down at the of 2024. Andretti Autosport purchases their shop and 2 charters. One charter goes to 23XI, and the other goes to RFK. Andretti run Chevrolet’s for a few years and bring in Honda to the Cup Series in 2025 or 2026.
Imagine telling a NASCAR fan at the end of 2020 that Stewart Haas Racing, a team that put up 10 wins on the season in Cup and 9 wins in Xfinity, would be expected to exit the sport in 2024 It's very unfortunate, especially since Gragson, Berry, and Briscoe seem to be turning it around, now it's uncertain if any of them will have a ride for next year...
I don’t blame Tony he owns teams in NHRA without the drama that nascar has created he has the potential to make history if he can pull off a championship in top fuel go Tony go
Seeing how Tony Stewart seems to be almost taking a step back, and/focusing on NHRA more. I’m a 3 times a year attendee to Eldora speedway, I am somewhat slightly nervous that he could in the future also focus less on Eldora. I really hope not
Let’s face it, Gene Haas racing was the RWR of the time before Smoke came around. Since then, cup trophies both as a driver and owner which hasn’t been done since Kulwicki did it, is impressive. With Covid came drastic changes to our sport as well as Tony’s life. I would like to think for the better in Tony’s case. He’s moving on to the next chapter of his life, God bless him. I have become a bigger NHRA fan because of Tony. The Generational change from Ganassi to Trackhouse, was good for our sport. This is just another one of those changes. Ideally, Jr should be the new blood in cup and pull a Justin Marks move. Whatever happens, I think it will be good for the sport.
stewart haas racings implosion sadly reminds me of the implosion of dei back in the day. a lot of dysfunction and no real leadership from the top. the people trying to keep the ship afloat are the people who have no financial responsibility and are just hoping that their jobs are safe for another season.
I think it is time that shr is gone I mean someone else like trackhouse or even RFK could buy charters from them and I will be taking on this topic in my vid that comes out tonight
