Yep you are so right about taking small sections of the hair, adding the heat protectant, then flat ironing the small sections as you go. That is the Only way I have salon looking results! When I smooth the serum all over my hair and then flat iron, my hair still have frizzy areas. Miss Dolce, you would make a excellent hair stylist, you'd be the stylist that will make sure your clients will know how to care for their hair between salon visits and not keep the hair products you used a secret because you truly care about the health of folks hair and not just all about making a buck.🤗

Thanks for the refresher! I tried flat ironing the first week after my relaxer. After washing, I did the leave-in, air dried, flat ironed, based on your other video, and let me say I was so amazed I had no idea what to do, like literally ... 2 days later placed my hair in a bun😂. My hair had never been so soft and light, it was sorta scary especially since it would've been my second week wearing it down. I felt like I had to protect it from everything ... my bag straps, the chair, the rain, sweat, humidity. 😂 careful what I wish for. After over 10 years of hardly wearing my hair out, I realize its something I have to ease into. So for me, your method works! And I didn't even do the finishing step.

So this year, I've decided to take some of your regimen to add to mine. I just love how your hair is always well put together and full of life and bounce. I realize I had been using a lot of hair products that were just too heavy. First wash of the year, tried the blow-drying on cool setting, used the light weight moisturizer and heat protectant, and then flat ironed...... Can I tell you that I've never seen my hair this soft and beautiful in my 2 years of being relaxed? Sis! I couldn't believe that this was my hair. I kept running my fingers through my hair because.... I am having a bit of struggle with wrapping my hair though. I also have decided to cut down on my stretches. My hair dresser has asked me to come in every 8-10 weeks as opposed to 10-12 weeks (sometimes 17😅). So imma give it a go using the Dolce Dawn way this year! Thanks again!

Hey, Kesha! Thank you! 🤗 Wow… isn’t that a good feeling to be able to run your hands through your hair and it feel like silk? Good for your for changing up your routine and getting great results! 👏🏾 I also like the 8-10 week rotation, too, and very curious how you end up liking it. Pls let me know!! ♥️👍🏾

I relaxed my hair in 2021 and I watched quite a number of videos where different people shared their hair care routine. At the time a colleague of mine whose hair is long, healthy and beautiful advised me on what products to get so I could try out etc. In fact she was the one who sent me to watch some of the videos and then I happened to get yours in the search feed. I decided to watch a few. Since the majority of what I had watched discouraged the use of heat, being a newbie I decided to stay away from the heat completely. I used to air dry my hair. And I could never get the well put together look that I get when I go to the salon and sit under the dryer. One time I went to a salon close to home to get a wash because I got a bit busy and they did not have a working dryer so they used a blowdryer and flat iron. Results were impeccable. That entire week my hair felt and looked so beautiful. At the end of my 5 month stretch last year, my hair dresser had a little talk with me. She told me that my hair is growing nicely, but the long stretches may become a bit risky and cause setbacks so she would like for me to consider changing things around for this year. Then I remembered you. I remembered that you get your hair done every 8-10 weeks and you use heat and your hair keeps growing and growing and growing. I'm like, Dolce Dawn is doing something right. This is a method the majority of influencers are warning against. And Dolce is single handedly doing this and winning. So I started watching your videos again for a refresher and I took down some more tips. I realize you mainly use serums and you still get results. A friend of mine who was relaxed did tell me that's all she used when she was relaxed and her hair was thriving. This account has gotten very long so imma stop here. So this year, I'm going to give it a try. This entire year I'm going to try your method. Deep down inside, I know I won't regret it. Thanks Again!

@@k6135 Reading this made me smile… Yeah, despite popular opinion, heat is NOT the enemy when used correctly and stretching for long periods of time is too often unnecessary and counterproductive. I can’t wait to hear how your hair progresses with your revised regimen. I’m excited for you! Lol Again, thank you for your kind words. I so appreciate you. ♥

Dolce I need urgent advice!! About three weeks ago I went to a hairdresser for a virgin relaxer since I wasn't confident that I could handle my hair myself, and I didn't want the textlaxed look lots of self relaxed girls on YT get. So I told her not to comb the relaxer through so I could have volume. She combed it through a little bit so I didn't complain. However now at the front some of the ends of my hair are still natural (I can literally braid it and it won't unravel). I am debating what to do. 1. Wash my hair and Do a protein treatment (this causes the natural bits to shrink). Section off the parts of the hair that are natural. The week following, apply relaxer to ONLY those strands I'm worried it will be difficult to prevent the relaxer from overlapping onto other hair. Perhaps I could pull back the rest of my hair so no relaxer touches the rest? OR 2. When in self relaxing in January/February for the first time, put the relaxer on those strands as well. My worry about this is that the relaxer is gonna start burning my scalp before I can apply the relaxer to the ends. The ORS relaxer burns me even when I don't scratch and even though I base my scalp. This situation is tricky because the ends/middle of my hair was unprocessed, not the root. Which would you do? I don't trust these hairdressers so I'm gonna do it myself regardless Please help!!
@DolceDawn
@DolceDawn Год назад
Hey, S Wisdom! If the front of your hair came out under processed, you could correct/relax it in a few more weeks (I would wait at least 7). And then you can proceed to self relax as planned in February. And I’m a little concerned that you get a lot of burning from the ORS. May I ask what strength you use? Would you consider trying another brand?
@swisdom9117
@swisdom9117 Год назад
@@DolceDawn I used normal, lye. Idk why it burns. Not horrible burns, but stinging that gets worse over time. I based my entire scalp with affirm scalp base beforehand. Only the back burned this time where she applied the relaxer first. I would use another brand but I'm concerned about breakage from switching relaxers. What do you think?
@DolceDawn
@DolceDawn Год назад
@@swisdom9117 I, personally, wouldn’t continue to use a product that automatically burned me upon application. Sounds like you’re sensitive to lye.
@swisdom9117
@swisdom9117 Год назад
@@DolceDawn perhaps. And as an update, it seems like my whole head has reverted 😭😭 I have so many natural bits and some processed bits it's gonna be so confusing to correct without causing damage to the relaxed strands. My hair literally forms an afro now. Gosh, idk why to do. I also don't know if I should correct it myself or go to a hairdresser. Smh I'll try switicing relaxers. Which one do you use?
@DolceDawn
@DolceDawn Год назад
@@swisdom9117 Hmm… Well, since you weren’t too confident in doing the relaxer initially, I would let a professional assess your hair and recommend what to do/use next.
