My mom has been sponsored by Jelly Belly since I was a little kid. We were there all the time growing up. She’s a professional clown and has worked all their events at the factory. You know the august clowns origins are following plauge doctors to comfort dying kids, it made the dying children less scared. The red nose symbolizes the blood of those children. Did you know that?

@@unclesham5507 I e heard that before. We don’t have any real evidence where the red nose came from. The most popular story is from a family performing, amd the one dressed like a modern day Auguste tripped amd fell, causing his nose to bleed. Hence the red nose. People started chanting “Auguste” which was a slang term in Italian I think for “fool”. We don’t really know where the style started though. There is no proof of any origin.

There is plenty of evidence. It's in Italian books though. Or latin. Most of the world spoke Latin during the plauge. There's not a huge market to be translating like municipal documents from medieval plague. There's evidence. It's just not somewhere common.

When I was a kid I remember that you could get Belly Flops bags in one flavor, like a bag that same size but all blueberry or whatever flavor. Now the bags of Belly Flops are a random mix, and while that does sound better than a whole bag of one type you do end up getting a lot of random things in there that you don't really like.

I live in Medford, Oregon. We have a company here called Harry and David. They are known for their world famous pears and gourmet boxes of fruit and chocolate truffles. They do factory tours of the chocolate and bakery areas. Maybe a couple other locations. It cost around $2 I think. Idk if they still do but you used to get a lot of yummy free samples!

Anheuser Busch brewery in St Louis gives a guided tour of their facility. You get to see the production and sample some beer as well as get a nice history of the company.

Celestial Seasonings, in Boulder, Colorado, has an excellent factory tour. Last I checked, they'd closed down because of COVID-19, but I would suspect tours are back up and running by now. Would highly recommend if you're ever in the Denver/Boulder area. Love your content, Jacob. Keep up the great work!

Hey carpetbagger I live in Vallejo back in 1999 for a few months, I saw the jelly belly factory it was different it was a guided tour and yes it did smell really good and they didn't have the museum when I was there, if you're still in the area I believe the Budweiser plant down the road from jelly belly also has a factory to her and it really smells like beer if you have time you should go see it, safe travels

Excellent video. The Tillamook Creamery in Tillamook, Oregon still gives free self guided factory tours. I visited there in 2019. At the end of the tour you can buy ice cream. I also highly recommend visiting the nearby Tillamook Air Museum and Tillamook Country Smoker Beef Jerky Outlet. While no tours of the beef jerky plant are given, you can buy the irregular shaped beef jerky at a big discount.

In UK we have Cadburys in Birmingham. It's amazing. Part museum and factory tour plus dark ride and free chocolates. Also opportunities to make your own goodies.

Tillamook Cheese in Tillamook, Oregon still does factory tours. My wife and I visited it in 2021. It was a lot like this Jelly Belly tour to where you look out over the factory floor. I know a lot of breweries still do tours. Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis and MillerCoors In Milwaukee come to mind as do a lot of smaller craft breweries.

Ethel M. Chocolates in Henderson, Nevada (suburb of Los Vegas) still has their Factory Tour, although this is more of a walk by glass windows looking into the factory. They also have a neat desert cactus garden, and the best chocolate in the world, bar none. Try the liquor-filled chocolates for a real Los Vegas experience.

Oooh my favorite jelly bean !!! I remember when Mike Rowe with Dirty Jobs went to one and made a themed jelly belly. Well the only thing close to a factory I can think of is going down in a working salt mine in Hutchinson KS, they still mine it. Hutchinson produces a lot of rock salt for roads. Hutchinson use to have all the salt company Morton, Cargill and one other. You should go check it out along with the cosomophere there that is part of Nasa it is a great museum . Love your videos

Oh no!! :( I live in Wisconsin and I didn’t know they closed down the Jelly Belly factory. That’s so sad! My family and I used to go when I was a young kid and then many years later I was able to take my niece and nephew. That’s so sad they closed down. So many good family memories!

31:53 Cadbury in Australia gives a GREAT tour. You end up eating so much FREE candy during the tour and you also can buy Large chocolate bars at Employee discount in the Factory store.

Busch Gardens used to give the beer factory tour n taste testing my Mom used to love to take us to on our yearly Florida vacation in the 1970's, but I have no earthly idea if they still do that tour or not?!

You should check out the American Whistle Corporation in Columbus, OH when you pick up your car. Its a factory tour and I believe you get a whistle at the end.

Vanilla bean are my favorite kind of bean. I also like the watermelon beans and pear flavored. We used to go to the factory nearly annually either with school or daycare or when family came to visit from out of state. Haven't been in years now though.

P.S. you mentioned before about visitors centers...my hubby tells me everytime we go ANYWHERE ; I have to grab every brochure or good magazine booklet on the specific STATE we are visiting..I love that as much as traveling or packing to get away...I have tried to get info from alot of states so I can dream about going there ...never been out west or up to Maine ..I live in lower Michigan and have been down to Florida of course w multiple times visiting/ staying in Kentucky and Tennessee but thats it. I really wish I could get a magazine style book from every state. My dream would come true. And I pray they never shut the visitors centers ; I would die !!!! Have fun

Tillamook cheese factory has a self guided tour in Tillamook, Oregon. Also, there's a place in Cashmere, Washington not too far from Leavenworth called Liberty Orchards that does a factory tour. This is the company that makes Aplets and Cotlets. I have done that tour a couple times, too. It's not free, however it is very neat.

I really dislike jelly beans until I tried a jelly belly, then a realization occurred, I dislike standard quality jelly beans, high quality were completely different, and when you could choose your favorite flavors and limit your consumption to those exclusively, that was a when I became a enthusiast of jelly belly jelly beans. Note; thanks to Ronald Reagan for introducing the world to a good jelly bean. ( jelly belly was the brand that sat on his desk.)
