This guy always gives praise to fighters, regardless of his relationship with them, he starves his ego so much when talking about GSP, with many people comparing him and Khabib in the goat discussion, Khabib never threw shade or said that he was better, pretty much the complete opposite, calling him one of the all time greats and even mentioning how big of a fan his late father was of him. Respect
Not true at all. All he’s done since retiring is run his mouth. He embarrassed himself talking about Aldo. And then Aldo comes out and puts on a great fight last weekend. Khabib needs to stfu and disappear or get back in the ring
@@k9aid514 thats fair but thats not what the original comment said. He said khabib “always gives praise” to fighters which is clearly a lie. Hes as disrespectful as everyone else and needs to stop pretending to be different
That is both a compliment and an insult, however, because its also true we never saw him get pushed because he never fought any great grapplers, nor fought them at his (arguably) natural weight class of 170 (missed weight many times including nearly dying from it): Covington, Usman, Burns, Woodley, Maia, etc. all the great grapplers were at 170 when Khabib reigned and he instead fought mostly strikers smaller than him. Now I dont wanna sit here and trash Khabib cuz he's a legend. BUT he's one of the only fighters (along with Usman) who is thrown around the GOAT convo who never tested themselves in a different weight class: GSP, Silva, Cejudo, Jones maybe, Adesanya, McGregor, Mighty Mouse, Cormier, Couture, Penn, Holloway, Nunes, Hendo all went up and risked, but Khabib never did, and that says something.
@@julianmarx2002 Dustin, Conor, and multiple others were all heavier than Khabib on fight night and have all admitted to a walking around weight over/at Khabib's walk around weight. This argument about him being bigger has been debunked.
@@b-sideplank khabib Stans never fail to suprise with their delusional ass kissing. Dude has an elementary grasp of the English language and you are saying he would be a great commentator? Come on man
I respect him, but he's so self righteous about his values, I can't stand it. Also, who talks so much about being humble, but at the same time demands to be called the goat and be put into the hall of fame....that's not humble..lol GSP is a better example.
@@Johnny.bar99 when did he call himself the goat? he literally never did that, in fact stating the opposite..saying how can he be the goat when theres MM, JJ, Cormier, Silver. He only said he only want to be known as the most dominant ever and he sure asf earned that title.
@@Johnny.bar99 no he didn’t call himself the goat🤣🤣 he most defiantly is his divisions goat, that isn’t arrogance but the truth. lol he literally made a post the other day about his goat list n never included himself, in every interview whenever the topic is brought up, he never refers to himself as the goat but says the names of other legends. Ur doing too much man🤣🤣
I watched ufc from the time of Gracie, but when Silva the spider came, it elevated the sport to whole new level, everyone were talking about him and I think he was the first true super star celebrity ufc fighter ever.
@@user-ku2ww5gb5e Yes, sorry I forgot about that, his out also then. That just leaves George. Wanderlei Silva in his Pride days was an absolute killing machine also. He deserves a mention, not in the UFC but mixed martial arts in general.
He’s spot on when it comes to how clinch exchanges can tire your opponent. Look at the knees Charles was throwing from the clinch against Dustin, and look at how big of a role that played in tiring Dustin out.
Khabib understands the fight game on whole different level. His take on certain events and fighters as well as moments that elevated the MMA game is absolutely incredible
The respect he has for these legends is truly special. What a humble guy! Some day, the next GOAT will be speaking of Khabib in the same way as he does GSP and Anderson.
Around 2009 -2010 I told a Brazilian that my favorite athlete was from her country, and she didn't hesitate to tell me that I was referring to Anderson Silva. He was really on top of the world during his prime.
To me what made him special is that it is pretty clearly known in mma thats wrestling is the most dominant martial art, and for a guy to achieve everything he achieved by striking is crazy to me
Anderson Made me stay up till the morning to watch him (I’m from Europe) he was so so so good!!! Top 5 MMA GOATS Royce Gracie Anderson Silva Khabib Fedor GSP
I don’t respect any list that doesn’t have jones on it. Your steroid comment is hypocritical bc you included anderson. The truth is people dont put jones on their list bc they think he’s a bad person, which he is. But nobody in mma has a resume like jon jones and people will one day put respect on his name again
@@RT-qz5ci Anderson tested positive later, after his prime and leg break, Jon Jones is a cheater who continued to cheat! And I don’t give a f what he does in his personal life
A fantastic fighter, but not in the goat conversation. not by a mile. 29-0 means nothing when you were still fighting guys in russia with 0-0 when you was 15-0. GSP came to the ufc after his 4th fight. Anderson silva had a 16 fight win streak in the ufc. Thats longer than khabibs entire ufc career! He had 13 ufc fights and of those 13 only 4 were big names. Khabib had 4 wins in title bouts..GSP had 13 . Those are not opinions but simply statistics. There are levels to this and khabib aint there. Greatest lightweight of all time though? possibly.
@@BroncoJ you fkn Clown. The fact that you even question him as the greatest lw of all time says it all. You are a sore hater who can’t admit greatness. He has not as many title defenses but he has wins over Poirer Gaethje and Conor all in there Prime Submitting all of them. He also destroyed RDA in his prime just before RDA became champion. It’s funny how you don’t mention that he barely lost a round most 10-8 rounds in history of the sport and never got cut once, GSP got finished twice Jon Jones is on the juice and had very close fights two which he arguably lost. Now show me a single fighter that did what Khabib did? You can compare Usman to GSP you can compare Jones and Silva you can compare Fedor and Cain V. But you have no one to compare with Khabib he’s the greatest p4p fighter of all time and if he stayed he could easily go 40-0. there is levels to this yes exactly and no one is on Khabibs.
Khabib shows respect to everyone, but whenever others talk about him, they try to disrespect what he's done. I guess that itself settles the debate on who's the GOAT
I can see why people hate Khabib. I don't like him at all but I respect what he did as a fighter. Dominated his division and only lost 2 rounds in his entire career. Now that's impressive
Well as long as we're on that subject, Khabib is one of the only fighters (along with Usman) who is thrown around the GOAT convo who never tested themselves in a different weight class: GSP, Silva, Cejudo, Jones maybe, Adesanya, McGregor, Mighty Mouse, Cormier, Couture, Penn, Holloway, Nunes, Hendo all went up and risked, but Khabib never did, and that says something. He also never fought someone who was good in his own style, never beat another dominant grappler like Usman, Covington, Maia, Woodley, etc. only beat strikers or jack of all trade/master of nothing guys like Iaquinta. GSP, Silva, Jones, Cejudo, etc. these guys beat all styles.
I'm brazilian, for sure Anderson was special to watch and I have a lot of respect for what he has done. But just like Adesanya and Alex Pereira, I think he's lucky he never had to face a wrerstler capable of taking you down and hold you there. Chael almost did it. Now, guys like Khabib, GSP and Jones are different, it's hard to imagine anyone being able to beat them in their prime.
Silva is the GOAT for real for real. Got to love and respect Khabib. Hard to beat this man. I’d have loved to see the development of his career. For me he cut it too short.
People forget that Anderson moved up to LHW and lost against DC. Ofc that is not his true weightclass, but having a win against a GOAT like Silva must feel nice.
yeah but Silva was wayyy out of his prime by the time he fought DC. Not saying DC wouldnt have beaten him, but it would have been a much closer fight than the one we saw.
that fight was on 3 days notice and Silva was way out of shape and still was able to go toe to toe with DC and also gave him some problems with his kicks.
Let’s say you don’t like Khabib for whatever reason, can’t deny he really is one of the only three people qualified for the 🐐 conversation, other tha GSP & JJ.
@@sarthaktyagi6904 totally disagree, Habib is above em all, Silva was matrix fighter back the the days, he had 16 win streak in UFC, but thats becoz his opponent werent so skilled as they r now, take thai clinch for example - they didnt know wat to do, DC is awesome but got his ass kicked few times XD, still love the idea of "little" guy throwing around big dudes. Aldo is one i dont rly like, i felt embarrassed when i saw him crying in Max Holloway fights, he lost so many times, hes great fighter with nice history, but theres no way hes GOAT, u cant be goat while u lost so many times to dudes in ur and lesser weight classes. Aldo lost in 3 weight classes and u call him GOAT, thats just wrong.
@@sarthaktyagi6904 Take Aldo outta there FFS 🤦🏻♂️ guy got knocked out in the quickest time in a title fight and finished 3 times in his last 3 title fights. Khabib has lost less rounds than Aldo has losses.
It's sad how severe of a recency bias most mma fans have, Aldo has more title wins than khabib has total UFC wins, i can't think of a single active fighter who I can say will stay undefeated for 9 years, Aldo did, fought one of the best dudes of all time and won too
Anderson Silva beat himself when he chose to be cocky which was sad to watch. Hes still my all time favorite fighter. Hes still a dangerous fighter his only downfall was his leg. Thats why he does good in boxing now
Anderson was amazing in his prime. No other fighter like him. He beat Forrest griffin, who was one fight removed from being champ AND one weight class up, and did it easy. His come back against chael. Destroying Marquardt, who probably would’ve been the best 185’er if Anderson wasn’t around. Front kick KO on trt vitor. So many amazing moments
Anderson had a high IQ because he knew what positions he could get hurt and his distance control was outstanding. now the showboating caught up with him against weidman but he was so entertaining because he knew distances, timing and angles better than every fighter at that time
I love DC and he's obviously one of the best to ever do it, but I would have loved to see 5 rounds with him and Silva when they fought. Silva hurt DC late in the 3rd round of their fight with a leg kick to the body. I can only imagine what a prime Silva would have done to DC.
Anderson would have probably won 5 rounder because DC was coming off a huge weight cut. He was a little tired by end of round 3. And Anderson was targetting his body while getting taken down. DC just out pointed him and did no serious damage.
FINALLY AN ALL TINE GREAT GIVES HIS RESPECT FOR ANDERSON AND SAYS HE IS THE BEST. I'VE SAID SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME. NOBODY WILL EVER TOUCH ANDERSON SILVA IN HIS PRIME. HE MADE WORLD CLASS FIGHTERS LOOK LIKE AMATEURS IN THE OCTAGON
