Khonjin’s little “what” made me laugh so hard

Biscuit recipe 2 cups self rising flour 1/3 cup solid shortening 2/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons buttermilk, shaken melted butter Pre heat oven to 450 degrees, and set rack in middle of oven. Place the self rising flour into a medium size bowl. Cut the shortening in , using a pastry cutter, or two knives. Add the buttermilk all at once. Gently fold the buttermilk into the flour and shortening, until the dough gathers together, and the flour is mixed in. I use a large wood spoon for this. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat gently into a disc about one inch thick. Do not over handle the biscuits, this will make them tough, and not tender. Gently cut the biscuits, using a biscuit cutter or glass. Place onto a cookie sheet. Brush the tops of biscuits with melted butter. Make sure the oven is completely pre heated and up to 450 when the biscuits are placed in to bake. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown on top and bottom. Makes 9- 2 1/2 inch biscuits. Biscuit yield will depend on size of cutter.

strawberry peach tea recipe to make while you wait to travel back in time - Ingredients 1 ½ cups water 1⁄2 cup strawberry jam or jelly (not preserves) Peach tea bags-either 1 large family tea bag (makes 1 quart) or 4 small tea bags 3 cups ice water Directions 1) In a small saucepan combine the 1 1⁄2 cups water, strawberry jam, and large tea bag and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. 2) Remove from heat and let the tea steep for 10 minutes. Remove the tea bag if you wish (peach tea is usually an herbal tea, so it is not necessary to remove from the pitcher and will continue to infuse as it sits) and pour the contents of the saucepan into a pitcher. Pour in 3 cups ice water. Fill tall glasses with additional ice and serve.

Hershey's Deep Dish Brownie Recipe: 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) melted butter 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3 large eggs 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup Hershey's cocoa 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Preheat the oven to 350F degrees. Line an 8-inch square metal pan with foil and grease only the bottom of the foil. In a large mixing bowl combine melted butter, sugar and vanilla with a wooden spoon until well blended. Add eggs and beat well with spoon until creamy. In a small bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, beating gently until well mixed. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until brownies appear set and begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. Remove from the oven and cool the brownies completely in pan on wire rack. Cut brownies into desired size and shape. This recipe makes one 8-inch pan of Chocolate Brownies.

Chorizo & mozzarella gnocchi bake Ingredients 1 tbsp olive oil 1 onion , finely chopped 2 garlic cloves , crushed 120g chorizo , diced 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes 1 tsp caster sugar 600g fresh gnocchi 125g mozzarella ball, cut into chunks small bunch of basil , torn green salad , to serve Method STEP 1 Heat the oil in a medium pan over a medium heat. Fry the onion and garlic for 8-10 mins until soft. Add the chorizo and fry for 5 mins more. Tip in the tomatoes and sugar, and season. Bring to a simmer, then add the gnocchi and cook for 8 mins, stirring often, until soft. Heat the grill to high. STEP 2 Stir ¾ of the mozzarella and most of the basil through the gnocchi. Divide the mixture between six ovenproof ramekins, or put in one baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella, then grill for 3 mins, or until the cheese is melted and golden. Season, scatter over the remaining basil and serve with green salad.
