I am very proud to have purchased a hoodie and a shirt (Oxford stands with Uvalde) to help in the best way I could. Both to help the families but also to educate my daughter and customers at work. I even managed to get a few customers to buy a few as well when I wore mine at work. I may not live there, I have never even been to Texas but feeling the closeness in the community, to see how neighbors mourn and love and are just as impacted by the tragedy as those who suffered it directly or by direct loss....reminds me of the small town (MUCH tinier than Uvalde ) I was raised in but left in 1998. Modoc County, Canby California. My elderly neighbors house caught on fire somehow( I was 5 or 6 years old so I never heard the cause) we got her out but the most amazing thing....six close by houses connected hoses to one another to reach hers and fight the fire until our small town fire department got there....the amount of people, the kindness, the selflessness and the closeness still sticks with me to this day. Those in Uvalde remain strong and beyond proud. Never let anger and pain of loss, destroy you. Me and my daughter mourn with you and stand with you. God bless.

My kids’ science teacher was shot and killed by her boyfriend, and I thought that was terrible, but this is unimaginable! Those poor families. May God comfort them in the days and weeks and years to come. So very sad.

Heartwarming to see this outpouring of care and concern for Uvalde. But I firmly believe the biggest „gift“ to the victims of Uvalde would be a federal law outlawing assault rifles. It could be named „ The Uvalde Assault Rifle Ban Act“ That way no one would forget the massacre of Uvalde, and maybe it could give a little meaning to the loss of these children, that they did not die in vain, and some comfort to the parents. I live approx 6000 miles away from Uvalde, but I am heartbroken at the fact that this happens in your country on a regular basis, …and nothing ever changes, no strict gun laws enacted, particularly in Texas! Children should be able to go to school with no fear of being killed or maimed for live because certain people value their guns above children!! . Please let Uvalde be the much needed change!!

Unfortunately, the misinformation is not your fault or the fault of many whose emotions are high and hearts are shattered but have no fear, political agendas are here and it's using terms that go unnoticed by the majority and only raises the eyebrows of those who have spent their lives around firearms and those who have educated themselves in different categories of firearms and understand the legality , terminology, and by definition and according to whom when it comes to firearms. Anyway, I agree reform is needed and I'm not arguing with you there. I just wish this tragedy like most isn't politicized as usual. Also, a good video on what reform could look like and what could be used here in our country I suggest the video that is comparing Switzerland and how civilians have as many guns as we do but have had no mass shootings (only 1 but was political) or school shootings and how their gun laws still arm massive amounts of civilians but maintain the safety of the public from crazed individuals as well because guns don't kill people, people kill people!
The police chief is a complete failure. He fumbled with keys for nearly an hour while kids were dying. How can he live with himself after becoming the poster child of cowardice and ineptitude? How he retains his job and also be sworn in to the city council are preposterous. He has zero class.

Time to write to your leaders to demand better control, better training to the police, replace your NRA owned leaders like Abbott and Cruz. Shame on all of them for attending the NRA convention days later and to continue to block ANY changes to your gun control laws. Texas could lead the way for the rest of the country. It was my first parade too. The president of the US in the Sacred Heart church where my parents were married in 1980.

I was diagnosed with ptsd since this tragedy happened I can't bear to stop crying 😢 and I can bear the families pain and survivors . I won't be the same anymore . I wish it would be me instead of students and teachers 😪
Uvalde citizens are stepping up to help their own neighbors who lost kids. God knows that Abbot, Cruz, the police department are not going to do a think. They don’t care how many people die.
In my opinion, i agee that ivalde is strong; and i think people will always remember this tragedy. It reminds me about when Selena quantilla was shot to death, they still remember her and i think the people in invalde are strong and they will make it keep on so the world don;t forget this tragey day. Like they forget others shootings.
I don’t think this would have happened if just a few kids had told this shooter that they like his lisp. But did you hear that they bullied him and then called him SCHOOL SHOOTER!!!!! Talk about giving him the idea!! In this case he killed 19 innocent children! And 2 teachers! Do a RU-vid about the names all these school shooters were called and teased about! And if kids complain that someone just called them a name, tell them that’s wrong but all kids call other kids bad names, all day long, so don’t take it personally. Tell them to listen and they’ll see that all kids call other kids bad names! I think that’s the most important thing to tell kids that are bullied. Don’t schools have “don’t bully” rules, and talk to kids about not being bullies, and bullies are trying to HURT someone’s feelings, so it’s wrong? and don’t do that!
I went to Uvalde I’m from Dallas Tx…..I saw the Abuelito of one of the victims. I didn’t know who he was till I came home and saw RU-vid videos of him talking his feelings towards the cops…if I knew I would of hug him. I didn’t see nobody else. No one noticed all these school shootings are young men who went to these schools. How are public schools failing these boys? What's not right with the system? Demand all teachers and school employees pass mental health screening, drug tests, and background checks. Give them weapons training and a concealable handgun. Require them to carry at work. If they will not carry a gun to protect our children they should lose their jobs.
