How does it interact with Actium? Does it reload the ricochet? If it does that may be something to consider.

Shoot to loot didn't seem to be working for me in the crucible. Shooting green ammo wouldn't pick it up. But it worked on orbs. I love the weapon model and feel of this thing though. It's got the hologrpahic sight and it looks like an M4. Shooting this thing is a blast, it's so damn smooth regardless of the stability stat. It's glorious. It didn't seem like much when I first got it and looked at the exotic perks but it's great. A catalyst that adds range would be perfect. 65 or 70 range would be ideal.

Khvostov can also directly counter enemies being shielded by a taken goblin since you can shoot the shielded enemies and the ricochets will often take out the goblin (I have a deep hatred for taken goblins).

Just a heads up for anyone who doesnt know but bungie anounced the damage boost in the "eyes up gaurdian" perk is a misprint and wasnt intended. So if youre expecting a big damage boost and it feels lackluster in comparison to what it should be thats why

In my opinion, this weapon is up there in power with Outbreak Perfected. Outbreak is the better for chunkier targets, while Khvostov is better for ad clear. It is an absolute POWERHOUSE. I love it.

Hey... Titans. Put on War Rig, remember it returns ammo based on the amount of ammo in the mag. If you're gonna go all out, put on the War Rig for a bigger mag which means more bonus damage bullets. Remember that War Rig also works with Heavy Machine Guns too. So load out your best 'dps' machine gun and rain down a hail storm of bullets. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!

@@chunchoeMachine guns themselves have pretty low DPS (damage per second), but aren't awful for sustained damage. Ones like a Killing Tally x3 Commemoration/Hammerhead, Xenophage, Heir Apparent, Target Lock Retrofit Escapade, and Thunderlord all have their own ways of decent damage. Don't expect to have huge numbers like with Sleeper or a good rocket setup, but the amount of ammo and ease of use (point and hold the trigger) makes them solid if you aren't trying to do anything crazy Grand Overture, however, has outstanding burst damage per second thanks to its rocket volley (which can be buffed by Hazardous Propulsion)

@@chunchoe For general play aside from the others mentioned, the new Pro Memoria has felt really nice for me with Reconstruction/Bait and Switch, seems to do more dmg than adaptives, I think Retrofit might be better for bosses, but the ammo economy on Rapids is worse, and I usually pair it with The Call so the boost for super is also nice, as usually play on Strand.

Overflow or Subsistence would go hard. Or if no target is in Range for a Riccochet the Bullet can bounce once from a surface to an Enemy.

I like the idea of Attrition Orbs, but I think it should also have a subperk that makes collecting orbs much more fluid. That could mean allowing Khvostov an additional bounce which can target orbs, or it could mean expanding the STL hit box of them, but at the current moment the orbs are so difficult to hit ,especially in the thick of combat, that if you have the time to stop to properly aim onto one to hit it, then you have time to simply just walk over to it & pick it up.

I was at 16 motes with only meatball left, idk if they patched it but at like 20% health he moved into the cave and the mote went right to inventory without picking anything up, 🎉

One thing to note even though it won’t come up too much is that the ricochets aren’t influenced by range. If you hit the enemy no matter how far away they will still do full damage. So it actually works at extreme ranges to clear ads before you get there or grouped up snipers

Arguably the best of the the non-raid TFS exotic weapons, even over Still Hunt since it's there for a single niche role, while Khvo is more neutral and can fit on most builds.

Used it in my comp placements using the speakers mask for warlock. Making orbs on healing teammates made it easy to always have orbs for the perk.

I'd honestly like to see the ricochet shot have an innate stun and was surprised that it didn't. It'd make an excellent overload stun. Though it'll go even harder with champ mods because it's stun neutral. It'd be interesting to see the catalyst add a selectable stun type

my plan for pvp with this is to run it with speaker's sight on warlock. being able to generate an orb from neutral by healing allies, picking it up to get radiant and proc the exotic perk, plus regen abilities if you have the right orb mods. hellion rifts activate reaper, and ember of benevolence means you have heal grenades and hellion rifts basically on cooldown. it's a pretty nice gameplay loop.

My favorite way to use it in pvp is on a warlock with the speakers mask and healing auto. Throw a nade and every healed ally creates an orb and damage dealt with khovostov generates energy for the healing auto and helaing an ally with it also creates orbs. Play support, charge up, then mow em down.

Note: you can tell if you have a ricochet bullet loaded because the line part of the crosshairs moves out, it gives bonus aim assist. ALSO it’s really good with the speakers helm on warlock. No chance they don’t nerf the healing turret from it but bonus orbs for healing (can be paired with the support frame auto) is literally free orbs.

Been running this on a tether "support" setup in pve. Run Orpheus rig (or a spirit of galanor class item if you're lucky enough, I haven't been able to test that yet) with the fragments that cause kinetic weapons to give bonus transcendence and the fragment that causes a severing burst on precision hits, the rest are dealer's choice. Kinetic siphons and surges are a must with time dilation mods, kinetic loaders/dexterity are optional. Main goal is to get tether up and send it at a tank target with a lot of redbars around it, then lay into the tabky target with severing precision hits so you can transfer the sever and ricochet to the redbars. Spawn tangles and orbs on cooldown and regen 75% or more of your super per cast.

the hunter build is great but if you want a really insane build the current warlock sage helmet which is already considered too strong the 2nd effect of the helmet can spawn orbs no kill required to get eyes up guardian its a pretty synergistic combo maybe even a bit toxic lol

In trials I’ve been running the speaker helmet. I can make a full size orb before the engagement even starts. If I’m using the no hesitation the orb will pop out of the person I’m healing instantly granting them eyes up guardian. It’s awesome.

Coolguy didn't mention it, but Kovostov along with some artifact mods and a prismatic fragment was built to give you transcendents very quickly.. So, if you feel transcendent is week and you only pop it when you have those transcendent shielded enemies, try a transcendent build so you can use it all the time. That's its purpose. Sure, it's good all around, but it was built to get you transcendent in seconds.

@@justsomeguy2142 Facet of Grace - Kinetic weapon kills boost trancendence engergy. That's the main one, but Transference in the artifact will refund trancendence engery on weapon kills. And it seems to stack with the Kinetic weapon boost as well. It also works with Microcausm (sp).

Make sure u have killed each boss of each region. I was in the same boat and the triumph showed me that I needed to kill all the bosses in the impass. I was missing just that one, and they rotate.

And yet they would still be good. Pre season of the wish I was always so annoyed with special weapons because of variable range, these sidearms can be used at basically any range so even if they had half the reserves they’d still be an instant lock for me, reserves nerf is totally warranted

The artifact also gives you radiant on orb pickup which gets you a stupid 7c1b with TWO surge mods. Very stupid fun class. The orbs also give you elementwl buffs. If you’re on prismatic instead you can pick whatever elemental buff you want via your super (amplified is fuck as HELL, woven mail I think is best though). Giving up devour by going this route but it’s easier and more accessible right now

But did you try it with Actium war rig?? Since it is hard coded to proc ricochet on the "7th" rounds in the mag, it makes me wonder if actium would allow it to trigger those at an increased rate since it tops it back up to max, while never needing to reload.

I have a feeling that it supposed to be 720 because of the range, but became too overpowered and Bungie nerfed even before release. Developers have told that they put so much "7" in this gun as little eastern egg from them and only characteristics where 7 is missing is range

imo khvostov doesn’t take a long time to get because normally playing will have already gotten you a chunk of the work done, also comparatively this grind for it isn’t long, look at d1 stuff which I know is a different time but like. Thank god it’s not like how lengthy d1 grinds could’ve been 💀

Almost got this gun. Trying to figure out how to get rid of the wall behind zavalas house for the traveler orb. I know it has something to do with a bird but I haven't seen 1 and the guids I've seen, show a bird on the path, so I screwing up something currently.

There’s a way to get out of bounds and get it. You can only access that area during the alone in the dark quest line

You can replay the alone in the dark missions, it should let you back into the area

I just gind it crazy how every time Khovostov came back it always has a lengthy quest line... like why? Just give it to us like the beginning of the game lol

The quest was terrible. I had completed cyst quests without knowing that I had to look for the encryption bits. Had to go back and do all of them because I couldn't remember which ones I inadvertently found. Personally haven't tried it in pvp but my son hopped on my account and enjoyed using it. He did comment on the lack of range.

Do not buy the Khvostov ornament. It will be purchasable with Bright Dust later this season.

I'm not denying that Khvostov is good, but for some reason, I've always been inclined to *not* use popular guns in crucible, unless it's competitive and I need whatever my best fitting load out is. I've been hearing that 7th bullet richochet ALL over crucible lately, and for some reason, that makes me *not* want to use it.

Why isn't anyone talking about the pay-to-win ornament? Not only does it replace the "РФБА" sign on the scope with an ammo tracker, but it also makes the gun darker (which means it's harder to see it in dark places) and somehow increases the aim assist even further. I played with the normal looking version, thought "That's pretty good, but kinda hard to aim", then bought the ornament and immediately noticed a difference. Since then I've been shredding Guardians with it.

The weapon is strong enough - broken to be completely honest - not to have to build stuff around it in PvP. You roll over anyone as long as you have the first shot and don't miss after. Clearly.

This thing is just not coded like an auto rifle. It feels like using recoil hacks on controller, it is so over juiced.

@@CoolGuyGames keep axial at 0 so there's no bias but radial can be turned up to the point where you stop getting drift As someone who had a lot of drift and tried intentionally using drift as a "Cronus" for aim assist I was shocked at how it kinda worked. It moves your aim for you 😂

@@Manstrual ha. for me I play a LOT of apex. Been close to pred numerous times but never have the time to grind the game. I play 4/3 linear there and that game makes you drift crazy. It's more so about more control over the stick with linear. No matter what, Destiny feels like mud in comparison to apex. 0.00 is atad better but i do wish they had more settings
