As an EV6 GT owner for about six months, my results are slightly better compared to yours. Here in Belgium, the temperatures are not as extreme (around 5 degrees), but even with winter tires, I'm averaging 22 kWh at those speeds. However, due to the frequent traffic and slower sections of my daily routes, my average consumption is between 19.5 and 20.0 kWh. Most of the time, you can only unleash the full power for a couple of seconds before you're far above the speed limit... love it ;-)

🔥 I love kia of late. I'm not gonna lie. Just make something with a v8, and I'll buy something 😅

EV6 GT owner here -- my car has never seen weather as chilly here in California, but I would say that Kris left out a critical detail for the EV6 with this test. Efficiency in the car can vary widely based upon the Drive Mode settings you are in, and also the regen Level setting. For the Drive Mode, default when you turn the car on is "Normal" (motors limited to ~ 400hp) and I suspect this is what Kris used. Unlocking the full 576hp by hitting the "GT" button will definitely affect range considerably, depending upon how you drive it. The regen Level (adjusted with the steering wheel paddles) is important for efficiency, because regen Level 0 tends to not use the front motors at all to maintain highway speeds and for all but the strongest acceleration. In the end, this is not a super-efficient car no matter what the temperature and driver settings, but it sure does put a smile on my face!

Though that is true, when driving on adapative cruise controll (which I allways do in these tests), the car manages it's effieceny and regen automatically as efficient as possbile. When using adaptive cruise, you can choose or change the regen mode.
@ev_kimchi
@ev_kimchi 9 месяцев назад
@@KrisRifa this is nerdy, but if you set your regen to Level 0 and then put on HDA2, you will notice in the power graph display on the instrument cluster that the adaptive cruise does not use front motor at all to accelerate. The GT model front motors do not have a clutch that physically disengages the motor -- non-GT models have a different front motor that does disengage and if you have Level 0 regen + HDA2 on, you'll see an even bigger efficiency gain. But to summarize, setting Level 0 regen then doing adaptive cruise does indeed use power more efficiently and gives you the best range results. No idea if it would make much of a difference in Norway though 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

@@ev_kimchi I see, I'll have to test this my self too see if this is the case!

@@KrisRifa If you look at some of Kyle Connor's eGMP videos, one describes this technique. the EV6 GT is just less efficient in using it than the other trims because they shoved the rear motor from the other eGMP cars as the front motor of the GT, and that motor does not have a clutch disconnect

Perhaps this should have more accurately been called a winter range test.

when driving in AT (100-130 KM/h) I get 25KWH/100, when driving to NL via DE autobahn, I get 30KWh/100KM, but there I drive 150-160KM/h

I noticed you were driving in I-Pedal in combination with the cruise control. Were you able to disable the (annoying) beep for the I-Pedal enabled/disabled notification when switching between cruise control and I-Pedal?

You keep on reviewing the same cars over and order again. How about reviewing something from BMW?
@KrisRifa
@KrisRifa 9 месяцев назад
I have reviewed many cars in the last few months that are brand new, so that just isn’t true. And also, I review what is available and there are no BMWs ready for testing at the earliest in January/February.
@MasterChief37
@MasterChief37 9 месяцев назад
@@KrisRifa look at your last 6 months then look at Bjørns, he’s reviewed a far wider range of vehicles than you. Your reviews are mostly Volvo/Polestar, VAG or Mercedes, some NIO’s slipped through, there are so many other new releases, Peugeot, Renault, MG, Mini……..
@KrisRifa
@KrisRifa 9 месяцев назад
@@MasterChief37 yes, I like some brands more than others. Look back to when my channel started in 2016, it's always been like this. Don't understand why you are complaining, when I have NEVER been as diverse as other channels. Bjørn has a much bigger channel than me and will get access to more cars and more frequently. That's just how this game works. Bottom line, I test what I like, what I prioritize to test it and what I have access to. So please stop nagging about BMW, I have one booked in Q1 2024. BMW really doesn't interest me, I am not a huge fan. Any more nagging about BMW and I may just cancel that loan.....

@@KrisRifa here’s a hint it you want a bigger channel and more income diversify and review more brands. You must admit that compared to 12 months ago your recent videos don’t get any where near the same number of views.

Most people use the word "Free" instead of "Vacant".
@KrisRifa
@KrisRifa 9 месяцев назад
Free and Vacant are interchangeable and frequency of usage varies dependent on location, accent, dialect, age group and culture. None is more correct than the other, and you have no data supporting your claim Therefore your argument is a strawman.

@MasterChief37
@MasterChief37 9 месяцев назад
@@KrisRifathey aren’t interchangeable. Vacant is a synonym of free. As adjectives the difference between free and vacant is that free is unconstrained while vacant is not occupied; empty. As an adverb free is without needing to pay. As a verb free is to make free; set at liberty; release; rid of that which confines, limits, embarrasses, or oppresses. As a noun free is abbreviation of free kick.
@KrisRifa
@KrisRifa 9 месяцев назад
@@MasterChief37 first of, you just proved that my use of the word is more accurate for this purpose. Second, in this context (which is what we obviously are taking about), they are interchangeable. "Two interchangeable words mean almost the exact same thing and could be used in the same way" In the context of if chargers are occupied or not, they are interchangeable. Before people try to give others lectures on what is right or wrong when it comes to how language and words are used, they may want to educate them selves. I see this way too much, people correcting others, while simultaneously lacking any understanding of context, accents, dialects, culture etc.
