Went to high school in Philippines and went back to freshmen in US since I’m was too young to be in college. You can’t compare education in Philippines. The memories are amazing and you will learn so much about life especially things you need to know when you’re an adult. In Philippines every student has to have a hygiene kit, students stayed in their room while teachers changes, this preserves consistency and stability, it also help with learning how to keep a long term relationship either with friends, bf/gf, etc. Also every student participate in EVERY activity. It’s not voluntary it’s mandatory haha which I love because if you are an introvert you have no choice but perform (dancing, singing, acting, competing, speech) in front of the whole crowd. Also I hope US would do the same. To keep national pride, there’s mandatory flag ceremony, exercise and tai chi. Freakin damn cool for a catholic school!
Right on. It is how it is in our elementary schools and even up to high-school or Grade 12. There is a feeling of stability and belongingness because we got to stay only in one room with only the teacher that changes according to a subject taught for the day. And, our classmates are the same the whole year round and even up to Grade 6. I have also been transferred to a public school from a private one because of the smaller ratio of pupils as a pilot school, and, I have learned a lot about discipline like cleaning the room after class…sweeping, waxing the floor, etc. In private schools, there is always a janitor to do the cleaning, but it is different in public schools. It is a personal experience, so it might be different with other’s experience….
"every student participate in EVERY activity. It’s not voluntary it’s mandatory haha which I love because if you are an introvert you have no choice but perform (dancing, singing, acting, competing, speech) in front of the whole crowd." I sometimes wonder why Filipinos are so eager to perform Karaoke in front of a crowd of strangers. Maybe it is part of their school training, putting on a performance at every opportunity.
Our younger generations' genuine curiosity about foreigners is so heartwarming. They are gems that no exceptions to shine whoever it might be. Its own way of "Feel our love and curiosity to you." 🥰
@@ashlee4063 Your comment is weird, when I translated it, it said “Don’t go back to the Philippines… More polite students” When your comment actually meant “Go back to Philippines”
This should be what children should be let them be children... let them be happy and free. They should not be corrupted with gender preferences, sexual fantasies or hormonal injection that's being push by their teacher in western countries. Protect our children. Love this episode.
Unfortunately, poverty is still prevalent there and children like these are being sexually trafficked by their own parents through the internet and social media. Some child pron out in the dark web feature Filipino children. And foreign pedophiles consider the country a dream destination because of how lax the parents, the community and even the authorities are when they see foreigners visiting towns and rural villages to access children.
@@JROCLIVING I mean you did talk with a staff and you seem respectful and not creepy enough so you can enter, in philippines it isnt actually easy to get in since most schools have guards and have gates (just like the school you went in) heck some/good amount of schools here would actually ask for name, time, purpose before entering whether you are a student from another school, parent for enrolling a kid or even alumni. I honestly feel a bit confused as to how american adults easily get in schools or heck a class tbh (with the school shooting or even like surprising old teacher vids) in here theres both security and also respect is a very big thing here (and most asian countries)
Actually, it's a bit more difficult for strangers to enter schools in big cities due to the fact that the student population is higher in big cities and not every student knows everyone, so the school administration is more strict with security to protect their students. For the most part, it is easier for strangers to enter schools in rural areas like this one in Palawan where almost everyone knows each other so strangers would stand out like a sore thumb and would be easy to catch if they do anything inappropriate. As long as they are friendly and don't do anything untoward, they will be welcome.
these kids are so smart. and their school looks so beautiful. i'm so glad to see them grow up in a very nice environment 💙 the video-taking is good too. it looks so cinematic
Here in the philippines we have english subject from kinder to collage... moistly in private school English is mandatory every time you enter the school...id you talk in Tagalog you have paid 5 pesos every word😂 that's how our teacher teach us here in the philippines, even 1year old can understand English word
English is mandatory here, I have learned to speak English since first grade and english words can be found anywhere even from the most basic things so you really have to learn it.
Wow, nice to talk to school children who tried hard to speak in english to express themselves even in the simplest little words they know. Good job man, you're inspirational to these kids, to encourage them to develop self confidence more in expressing their ideas without hesitations, it enables them to carry out a conversation to a foreigner without fear of making mistakes in english. 👍
AM so proud of these kids of a public school if am not mistaken, being able to converse with ease, albeit in broken English and being understood by an American.
Oh, he came from Atlanta, Georgia USA🇺🇸 . I em filipino living also in Atlanta, big city, same Chicago, New York. They think probably Lebron and other NBA players. Every kids in the Philippines 🇵🇭 are most friendliest among other country. At the young age they can understand already in English, inspite of limited proper conversation in English language. They tried their best to communicate to the foreigners. Proud Pinoy at all.. Promote our Country, that the most hospitable people in planet Earth.
Bro, when you return back to the Philippines, you must to visit this school and look for these kids especially this boy your best friend, give them a BIG, BIG HUG. OK. Stay safe po and be Blessed. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Black Americans has a nice imagice in Ph, for kids and adults one of the reasons are Basketball and Hiphop. My sister married a Black American man, I think the only concern in families is that if you marry one your baby might have dark skin, although it's not a problem because they would still look beautiful and unique. Some parents might pressure their kids to have light skin babies because of beauty standards, not anything discriminating. Personally, I don't care, they're always welcome here.
Yes we do..and not saying being black is terrible where I’m at. But I do notice it’s more of a privilege being a black American. Everyone is so welcoming and nice!
Some may still have the colonizers mindset. It was beaten and engraved in their mindset and past down from generation to generation to not love their own skin. Goes way back in history when the Spaniards came, Dutch, u.s., Japan and so on...
@@dare2bda137white and fair skin has always been in Philippines culture even before colonization. Most probably stemmed from Chinese influence wherein if you have fairer and whiter skin it means you don't work in the fields or do manual labor that exposed your skin under the sun. Binukot is one of those examples. Not everything stems from colonization.
Well as I am growing up in the Philippines. My first thought about black person is always about NBA... So as the others people that I know especially the people in 90's
Filipinos are genuinely welcoming and hospitable no matter what you look like. Would be nice tho if you take your glasses off when you talk to anyone. It is a very respectful thing to do. :)
@@YYC403NOYP I am not talking about wearing. I am talking about when you are talking to someone, it would be nice if they can look at you in the eyes as well. It is a simple etiquette that everyone should know. It is a simple sign of respect. Look it up. You should take criticism well as it will only make you a much better person.
What?! How is that disrespectful? Does that apply to any eyewear?! What if some people have eyesight and need sunglasses?! Some people like me wear color changing glasses (UV protection) that may appear like they are shades....I don't want to take them off because I literally can see...would people like me still be considered disrespectful. It's 2024 already and those so called customs are not strictly should be abided by everyone already. By the way, I hope you don't mind asking in what part of the world is that a thing?! I don't think that is a filipino thing 😂😂😂😂😂
those kids genuinely think that you are a basketball player from NBA cause every kids who sees BLACK they automatically think that you're an NBA player😂 they're such a curious and happy kids very friendly too
Thank you for being always kind and definitely, those who you helped before will never forget your good heart. I am one of your believers that always here to watch your life journey on the Philippines and god bless you and always keep safe bro cause you're so precious person.
Oh wow you from Atl. I stayed in forest park back in the 80's for 11 years till 97, I'm in the Philippines 🇵🇭 as well on the outskirts of Manila. Binangonan rizal Tatala Philippines 🇵🇭 ♥️ I love it here, the simplicity and the cost of living, enjoy my brother I been here 4 months and 2 more months to go, and head back home to Omaha, Nebraska USA 🇺🇸 ❤️, be safe ❤️
maybe in province, it's not that strict but in Manila, for sure guards will ask you then prohibits you to enter just for the safety and school rules :)
Blacks is more welcome here since we are almost the same 😂 if we go outside too long our skin will turn blacken too so no need to be scared of Philippines. Once they knew you like a week they will smart to approach you and try to be friendly. White and Black are treated same, Filipinos like different people 👍
*some kids might be intimidated and amused at the same time seeing a big black guy. They might be hesitant in talking in English too, but since Pinoy kids are innately hospitable. They want you to feel comfortable and try their best to reach out.*
just wanna share this. back when i was a kid, there’s only 0.1% chance of seeing black people in our town but we only always get to see them on movie and tv shows. i used to even think they’re all good at rapping and are the best ones in playing basketball! my uncle’s favorite was kobe! so as a kid and up until now, i think black people are cool.
So proud of them. Most of us are bi or trilingual, and english is not really our mother tongue. It is kindda hard since we somehow need to translate most things in our heads before speaking.
I have a cousin who happen had a black foreign friend her friend visiting Korea for the first time and she has a terrible experience cuz most of the people are looking at her disgusts and making fun of her color when she came here in the Philippines she said that she doesn't expect people to respect her and accept her.. sge got traumatized by the other countries.
Kuya school guard thought of different “Apo” 😅 Not Whang-od, but APO Hiking Society which is a famous Philippine singing trio of the 70s. Kudos to kuya guard tho for being so friendly and allowing you to get inside the school.
That man talking to you at school. He doesn't understand when you said Apo Whang-od from Kalinga. He said Apo from Manila then he said Apo Hiking. Hahahaah!!!! He has no clue about the tatoo artist. Apo Hiking Society is an old musical group. One of the member died already.
The best and easy way to promote your channel is make a business card the give it away to everyone who asks your channel, it will surely spreading easily without hassle and without exhausted from promoting it to grow🤔
Here in the Philippines, random people can easily enter schools. You can either enter freely or be given something like a visitor pass ID. They may also require the visitor to write their name in a logbook and possibly leave an ID by the school guard before entry. Bags can also be checked if the visitor is carrying any.
He was technically speaking to the the “Kuya”- maybe the guard first before entering.. i guess the guard did his screening already when he asked him of how long he’ll be staying in the area😊 Smart strategy😊
Discrimination and bullying in school are discouraged in the Philippines. Instead friendliness, emphathy, love of God and people are strongly encouraged that's why Filipinos even the children are accommodating , happy and resilient. It is not the value of being a pleaser without good reasons as what others think. These are the moral values based from being a Christian country.
When I was a kid, I wasn't this confident talking to strangers, but yes whenever we see Black or white people visit our school, as a kid, I thought they're celebrities 😂
