Madeira is an fortified oxidative style wine that tends to have rancio character which provides the nuttiness. It also tends to provide dried tropical fruit notes.

Well, 120$ is a lot of money. I bought the Kilchoman Madeira Cask from 2021 for 80 Euros, and it’s a wonderful dram. I guess I’m buying another bottle if it’s not more than 100 Euros. But I can tell you, Kilchoman makes great Islay Malt. The Loch Gorm is a beautiful 9 year (there’s some older whisky in it) Islay Malt matured in Oloroso Sherry cask. It’s great. If you’re on a budget, the Sanaig is a younger Islay “Sherry bomb”, but it’s beautifully balanced and really delicious (about 45-55 Euros where I live). Kilchoman has a beautiful, delicate house style, and it’s really shining in the 100% Islay releases. I mean, a Single Malt (an Islay Malt) from Barley to Bottle, that’s special, and the 12th release is so beautiful balanced, it’s one of my favourites Whiskies right now. The lower peat level (10-20 ppm) makes it so elegant and complex, it’s a beauty.

Hopefully you can try the kilchomon (BiB) bourbon influenced batch! 9 years old in wheated bourbon barrels! Hell yes!

Great review! Quite confusing because you had very different views, but that’s fine. Just shows how we all taste different things when we are tasting stuff. There’s a load of SMWS bottles behind you. Scott, are you accumulating bottles since becoming an employee?! This Kilchoman mini series has been a good review.

Are you guys going to review the loch gorm? I want to know if you guys the horrible Ash finish I’m getting it’s just terrible I wish I would of bought the sanaig instead judging from your review of it.

Sounds like you somewhat muted Bart's Test It at the beginning. That is considered by some myself included as bordering on blasphemy. Also sounds like a sound edit at 7.47 when you said something to Bart.....Censorship eh! Why the very idea.
