Sounds like there are some encouraging signs for the return of Scott’s senses of smell and taste - that’s great news! It’s really instructive for anyone who’s had covid to follow your weekly reports, Scott, as it creates a sense of solidarity. What a pandemic and a rude rash of rioting can cause - hopefully never again. Still, it was great to see that you were getting some basic notes from the Kilchoman bottling, especially the nuts. I haven’t tried this one, but a fino sherry cask should leave the whisky relatively dry with a definite hint of nuttiness (fino being the opposite of a sweet sherry). The banter was, as always, great to see, and the hats were inspiring. Great stuff, guys. Cheers.

5 years ago Kilchoman was in my top 15 distillers. It's in my top 3 now and I can't get enough of their cask strength products.

Fino is the lightest style of sherry. And Kilchoman distillate was specifically designed to mature quickly and be ready at a younger age. I would say they were successful. Cheers Dummies 🥃🇨🇦🇺🇲

Really been enjoying Kilchoman. They are to the point now where they are doing releases with 8-12 year old casks. I gravitate towards the 100% Islay barley releases, these are the only ones that have the barley they grow and floor malt themselves and it has a low ppm of peat. You may enjoy these Scott, but when your palate returns as they are subtle. Everything else they make it is Port Ellen peated malt. When Anthony Wills was on Roy's live stream a few months ago he said they buy Ardbeg spec malt from them. Cheers guy's
