Today we take a look around the epic Kilchurn Castle at Loch Awe in Scotland. After walking round the castle we take a first person point of view look through the castle before getting some drone footage of the castle.
The highland castle is looked after by Historic Scotland and is a fantastic location for tourists and landscape photography. It's definitely worth a visit and a walk in the surrounding area of Loch Awe.
People camp just across the water as there is easy access from the road however it looks like a popular area so if solitude is your thing then there are much better locations. Camping actually at the castle should be avoided as it has historic significance and we wouldn't want to disturb anything of historic significance plus camping would also have an impact on Scottish tourism in the area. I did have some tents up in this video but this was to film a short tent review: no grass was flattened, the shepard stake pins were just in to avoid penetrating the ground and disturbing potential archaeological material and I was there at 05:00 in the morning to avoid any impact on tourism.
Not only was I there so early to not disturb tourists etc but the castle and Loch awe are perfect for some landscape photography, especially during sunrise of course!
All the best,
John & Moss
