That intro really nailed it: more recent Suda titles don't really feel like older Suda titles. Starting with NMH2 he started letting others direct his games. And while NMH2 was still good, it's slightly more different than NMH1. Liberation Maiden is another title that, while awesome gameplay wise, really doesn't feel like a Suda title. I still buy his titles but its as if he's losing it.

If my logic is correct, the title of the game *The Killer is Dead* is a paradox, unless I am putting too much thought into it. If the killer is dead, someone or something had to kill the killer, which would in turn make the thing that killed the killer a killer, so there would still be a living killer, which would make the game title pointless, which would in turn cause someone or something else to kill the 2nd killer, and so on and so on.

Usually in Japan, a character that is supposed to appear bad ass will seem above it all and calm. That's why Mondo seems "boring". It's just culture.

Since people like to compare filmmakers to video game developers, I think Suda51 is M Night Shyamalan. They both use a name which alters a foreign name into symbols, make some obscure works, get one of their scripts picked up by a big name, the work gets really famous on the Internet, they attempt to recreate that work but miss the point, make a few OK things and a few bad things using this strategy, and eventually make something heavily flawed and potentially offensive.

You know, we need a bit of a deeper journey into a Sudaverse. Killer is Dead managed to not explain anything, despite showing us stuff we'd like to know more about near-constantly, except for Mondo, who they did explain but we didn't care about. How about a Killer8 in the future where MASK is the dominant persona? And on that note, are all of the Killer7 members destined to reincarnate and join the Smith Syndicate forever? Whoops, I'm digressing into a different game because despite watching a full LP of KiD I legitimately don't know what questions I could ask. Was that annoying girl legal?

I played two levels of this game. As I started the third I realised that I had basically already played this game. So I took it back to the shop and bought myself something I actually needed for once. Also, I think this game made my eyesight worse, trying to understand what the hell was going on half the time. I pressed on average 2 different buttons for about 15 minutes and bingo, level done.

Frankly, being a pretty big yahtzee fan I completely agree with you. He isn't actually talking about the design, or any of the bigger flaws so much as relying on how easy it is to point and make fun at little things that are easily passed off as flaws when they're either outright opinion or downright misconcenption. Yahtzee's genius used to be that while it was funny, it was completely valid and he really didn't consider himself a comedian. Lately I haven't been seeing that and I'm disappointed.

Sure, and you get more rewards for varying your combos in DmC (while looking cool), that's all the Style system is - rewards for variation and aggression, and you do it with a lot more thought than KiD. DmC's Style system actually wasn't unbalanced or broken, the only thing different in it from DMC4 was retention and the fact that you had more skills that allowed for greater grouping. It's very easy to break the Style system in DMC3/4 as well. You don't seem to know what you're talking about.

eh, I can't help but find Mondo adorable. being voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch probably helps but the giant pulsating robot arm and his continuously edgy "grizzled macho whisper" is very tongue in cheek in my eyes. I can't take him seriously and to me, that's fine.
