Imagine being the the scariest and most dangerous thing in the game and you go out by just being held in stasis and being slowly hacked at.

The reaper have 5000 health, the thermoblade does 40 damage, meaning you have to hit it 125 times (250 times with normal knife) and it deals 80 damage to you, so remember first aid kits.

It's interesting how even the scariest monsters in this game are not actually all that scary on their own. They are actually colorful and interesting, but the environment + their aggressiveness is what really makes them scary.

Me when I realize I’m behind the Aurora: “My time has come”

Step 1: Collect Gaspods (20 to be sure) Step 2: Approach Reaper Area Step 3: Launch or place creature decoy (optional) Step 4: Once the repear nabs the decoy, paralyze the reaper by shooting it's head with stasis rifle. Step 5: While paralyzed quickly go to it's nape and QUICKLY release multiple gaspods and get away before they detonate. (Avoid the mandibles, it can still grab you. Also get as close as you can in It's nape to make sure all gasopods explode within the reapers range, don't worry it can't grab you from behind) This is pretty easy and if done correctly it will kill the reaper in less than 10 seconds. The Gaspods deals heavy damage and is extremely lethal when stacked so make sure to scram as fast as you can after releasing.

I am terrified, but armed with this video, I may have a chance.

I didn't know it can be killed, once I fired the rifle at him and his head was inside the bubble, but then i thought "Let's see what happens if I enter the bubble.." ..he ate me in a very cinematic way.

I've seen in another comment section another way to kill it : use your prawn with regular arms. They did more damage than drills. Get to him, let him grab you and throw as many punchs as you can. When he released you, repair your prawn and go on. Totally works for me and it's so epic. Hope it helps someone, great vid btw !

Even after all the seamoths I've lost to these guys, it still made me kinda sad to see this majestic, terrifying predator suddenly go limp and lifeless in the water.

This is one of the most bad ass things I’ve seen someone do in this game. It takes some balls to do this.

It would be really cool if, once you deal the final blow to the Reaper Leviathan, it lets out a huge roar unlike anything you've ever heard, notifying the rest of the Leviathans in the game. Then from there, all Reaper Leviathans start patrolling shallower waters in search of you. I know the devs kept that from happening for balancing and scripting purposes (ex. Reapers getting stuck in the map geometry) but how awesome would that be? It's like initiating a hard mode and just more reason to fear these creatures.

Thanks for this. Absolutely terrified of everything in this game but knowing there’s such a silly way to kill the Reaper makes me feel not as scared anymore.

I remember being scarred for life by the Ghostie after an unexpected encounter with one by the blue reef area, he and a teleporter both came after me at the same time. Absolutely fucking horrifying. Didn't play afterwards for months. Took me awhile to finally go back. Later during that next playthrough, I finally grew ballsy enough to take down the Lost River Ghostie...I did it, but man. So much anxiety confronting that fear.

To anyone who still plays this masterpiece, DON’T ACCIDENTALLY LURE ONE NEAR YOUR BASE! I had to basically start a new base because the one that tailed me home wouldn’t leave and you don’t take any chances on Hardcore 🤦‍♂️

ma guy i just killed all of the reapers in the entire map in less then 30 mins and using the gasopod strategy.but if i didnt knew that was a thing ur video is still very good and easy to understand ty:)

When you kill a reaper, you get the biggest power feeling, but then your seamoth gets destroyed by another one immediately after. Its a confidence crushing experience. I would know

Tip: It also helps if you get the repulsion cannon, the combo is, you hit him in the head with the repulsion cannon and then trap him in a stasis rifle bubble.

I’d also recommend using gas pods. If you drop enough into the stasis field and get out of range, it can do insane damage

Hey... that's cool, and i tried before, but i died. I used the prawn suit. I Waited until he attacked me, and then punch him. Repeat, repair the suit if necesary, repeat. The fight took him from the Aurora to the lifepod, and i killed him there.

It seems that the leviathans is at certain spots in the ocean. One at the island, one at the shipwreck etc.But if you kill one, will it be gone for good? Or will it respawn?
