At 6'3" he's one of the tallest (same height as Naomi Smalls) and nears 7' in certain heels, though (bless his heart) he still can't walk in them XD edit: Bob the Drag Queen is also apparently 6'3" like Naomi & Kim. Plenty of pics can be found online of Kim and Naomi standing together out of drag, and they're roughly the same height. Kim is much thicker in body, which can be deceiving when estimating height, especially without something around to provide perspective. As of this date I believe Tempest DuJour is the tallest at 6'7 (RuPaul is 6'4") with Milk and Latrice tied for second at 6'5", though that does not include season 10 queens.
Update: Kim Chi's mother knows that she does drag. She found out by googleing 'Kim Chi' based on the email address she got from her. After a conversation and Kim Chi revealing how successful and wealthy she is, her mother reveaks that she is supportive of this career, though drag culture in general is completely new to her.

From what Kim Chi explained, her mom is a typical asian parent who wants her child to have a stable position in society, and when you know nothing about drag, you might think my kid is just fooling around and losing his time instead of finding a real job. So yeah, the reassurance that it's a full-time job and that he can support himself well doing that makes it easier to accept and support, even if you don't really understand it.

Miss Fame had the dress that was worn by one of the "Ugly Stepsisters" in a Met Opera production of Cinderella. Technically, it was made to be "ugly" for the character, but of course it's beautifully made, so the judges didn't understand it.
That dress looks like tin foil and a tent had a love child then inflated it hopes it would die but when it survived they just said fuck it I guess we keep the ugly little bastard.

I really hope her not being out to her family has nothing to do with her not winning. Many many people in the LGBT+ community aren't completely out and it shouldn't diminish what they do.
It probably does. I really believe that Kim Chi saying, "my mom doesn't know I do drag" is what damned him in the end and kept him from winning. Why? Because his explanation had an element of shame to it. He basically said that he already disappointed her by being gay and didn't want to disappoint her again by being a drag queen. Yes, some of the queens weren't out to their parents, like Jaidynn et al, but they didn't even get close to winning. Becoming The Next Drag Superstar makes you a highly public figure, meaning eventually your parents will find out, likely from friends, coworkers, or neighbors, and if that blew up Kim Chi's life it would affect his reign as TNDS. At worst it might affect his mental health and he might go on hiatus or fail to fulfill his duties as TNDS. *TL;DR: For me, it wasn't 100% that Kim Chi said, "my mom doesn't know", it was the shame with which he spoke about not telling his mom, like it was something he had to hide out of self-preservation and to "spare her". If you're TNDS, drag is what you DO, what you LOVE, what you wouldn't want to give up, not what you hide.*
didn't say you were, but i disagree. Detox look was better by far - yes, I know it was not all her work or done under constraints of the competition. Conceptually it shits over Bianca's look. Even in Bianca's season Courtney's B&W Klaus Nomi was far better (being Courtney's few good looks). Anyways we can all agree to disagree to the cows come home.

I did not like the bearded lady at all. And I liked Pearl's Hello Kitty outfit better than Violet's. It was so minimal and yet elegant. The rest was amazing though

Agreed! I'm still kinda pissed she was in the bottom two that episode, I think Joslyn Fox deserved to be there more than she did. On the bright side, that lipsync between Adore and Trinity is easily one of the best in Drag Race herstory so that kinda compensates I guess :p

You don't need to hate on Bob that much. - Bob's entrance look was super clever. - In the first challenge, her Gone with the Window look, while not being crazy and outrageous as some of the other queens' look, it was super polish and well tailored and well put together. Raja and Violet (the 2 fashion queens) pick it as the winner for the first challenge, in their reaction video to episode 1 of season 8 (on RuPaul's Drag Race HD channel, check it out). - The amazing black and white look - ANd the Book Ball look was really nice too..
Violet's s8 finale is top tier. I can't think of a better outfit I've seen especially not on drag race. If something tops it I'll be so shook. Whatever that look is will be too powerful for this world lol
It wasn't a Buddha look, more like a Hindu look. Blue is really common in the Hindu religion and the outfit also looked like Krishna, which is one of the gods. (If you didn't know) I respect your opinion but I'm also disagreeing with you.
I don't think liking Miss Fame's ugliest dress outfit is controversial. most people like that dress. that's literally why she got eliminated. her idea of "ugly" was still fashionable and pretty.
I think the look I love most is Kim Chi's mom look, by the looks of the outfit I feel like she had put a ton of work into the thought of her outfit, plus the makeup was just very outstanding and glowed captivating beauty.
My favorite look was also the look Violet wore on the finale of season 8. The dress was gorgeous... The insects... The prosthetics of the crown literally growing out her skull... I was thoroughly GAGGED.
I am so happy Kim pointed out Sharon's LEGENDARY groundbreaking mold-shattering horror look.. I remember very well how stunned Michelle and Ru were. LOve her or hate her, Sharon opened the doors to a lot of aspiring queens. Im guessing Party City appreciated teh sudden surge in online searches and sales also. Bwahahahaha!

I’ll never be over the fact that Raja and Raven booted Kim’s Mom look on FPR. That outfit was GORGEOUS and so well made, and I totally agree with Kim’s comments about people not being open to more varied styles of drag. I loved that she kept bringing in more eastern inspired concepts and silhouettes, I wish they’d been better received bc they were brilliant
No one mentions Trinity K Bonets runway for the whole season really. But my favourite was her runway for "O No She Betta Don't" episode. WITH HER LONG AS WEAVEE
this started with the ones everyone agrees on and i thought it was gonna all be predictable, but then she went off on some underrated looks that i had forgotten about and reminded me how good they are. kind of surprised there was no Nina Flowers though, she had some loooooks on season one.
what I lovr the most about Kimchi (besides her creativity and carisma) is the fact that she is so humble and intelligent. She breaks stereotypes while creating art.
My favorite runway look is definitely Violet Chachki's beard look because the dress was just so gorgeous and I didn't even remember that there was a beard on her because the dress was so pretty. And I also love her entering in the werkroom look on episode 1.
I think the performance aspect of that outfit is what sold it. Not that it's bad. The whole look is very aerodynamic and works well to highlight the main feature (the wings). But the performance of the look is more stunning than the fashion of the look.
At the time it was iconic. Something like that had never been seen before, a mechanized outfit on that scale. I don't think Shane gets the credit he deserves because she a person who lives in the in between and is one with his female persona. Courtney is like a real person and not just a performance character.

i love that raja's marie antoniette look! it was my favorite until kimchi came out on the runway looking like a flower made out of paper, it blew me away!

That Violet look at the crowning of Season 8 was absolutely breathtaking for me my favorite one ever I gaaaaaaagggg with this look, she was gorgeous she was perfect!!!
OMGGGGGGGGGG I totally would have Miss Fame's ugly dress on my countdown too! I screamed so loud when she had it here lol. love Miss Fame and I still think Lineysha should have won with that dress.
I became so obsessed with Kim Chi during the last season, and somehow this makes me love her more. I love how she talks about liking different silhouettes and how fashion can be everything, and that it's more about having a vision and well executed concept than it is about sticking to one "Correct" kind of look. Keep slaying my life Kim Chi.
