I have come to the conclusion that I cannot stand tourists. It seems like the majority of them do not listen to instructions, can be rude, and just plain ignorant.
There is no excuse for thoughtless, entitled behaviour. I’ve been around this area of London many times and as a young child, many years ago, I was taught how to behave in strange situations to appreciate that people do things differently and should be respected. I tried to do this with my own family so that trips, anywhere in the world would be a rewarding experience for them and their hosts.
@@Bandomeme I disagree. The soldiers at Horse Guard's are doing a job. That is their main function. They are not there for 'entertaining' these vacuous tourists!
6:42 When the dad went to the arches, see how the guard just stomp his foot. He restrained himself from yelling at the dad, as there is an infant. He is careful not to startle the baby, preventing him from crying. Such a good man, this guard is.
It’s great visiting countries and absorbing their culture, but always show respect and consideration. I was brought up to believe wherever one is in the world you are an ambassador for your own country.
I cant get over how many just shove a camera in the guards faces without even acknowledging them as a fellow human being How would they feel if they were in their office doing their work and a random stranger walked up to them took their photo and walked away without saying a single word So rude.
Would it really take so much time out of these ignorant rude tourists to simply say "Thank you for your service" as an acknowledgement of their presence?😢
The police aren’t there to control the crowds, they’re there to guard the guards from terrorists. Tourists may be annoying and irritating (though the vast majority are perfectly fine) but they’re not dangerous. In some places tourists are allowed to stand by the guards for photos. That’s not the case for the chicksman and the gateman and the chains are in place to show which part of the courtyard is public and which part is private.
Lord them tourist are hard headed people I ever seen It's bad enough the poor guards and horses are out in the rain and cold why don't these people have any care for them It's just awful the way they get treated😡
I don't think it is any more. We openly let foreigners disrespect our own people, our war monuments and protest over a foreign war that has nothing to do with us. Our Police do nothing even when our Laws are broken.
@perryschafer5996 two months after I was retired from the Canadian Military due to medical conditions my ship ended up going to Hong Kong, East Tamor and Northern Australia which saddened me ! Of the 20 countries I went to Australia is the one country I had dreamed of going to but now 25 yrs later I don't like travelling far from home. Canada is my home even though the Netherlands is my heritage.
If they weren't there as color for tourists what role would they play? They could all be replaced by uniformed soldiers. I think alot of tourists think they are hired actors. How would tourists know they are soldiers? They don't look the part. Tourism is essential for the UK and the interest in the monarchy will all of the pomp and ceremony is a big part of it. The way these guards yell at people is disrespectful and rude. You can bet if these guards were closed to tourists they would not exist in this current fashion. If there is no signage to say stay away from the arches it is rude to scream at people. A uniformed soldier wouldn't get away with screaming at people like this.
Sorry but these ARE SOLDIERS IN UNIFORM AND SERVING SOLDIERS. The real problem is the TOURISTS in not finding out what they have gone to visit thats stupid. And WHY WE CHANGE BECAUSE THEY ARE RUDE AND DISREPECTFUL. The GUARDS have a right to shout to move people on. Dont likey then dont watchy 🤤
OMG.. this is a 💩 fight, people everywhere in the way while the guards are changing over 🙄 I will never understand why people have to go into the ARCHWAY DURING THE RAIN WHEN THEY CAN STAND UNDER THE WALKWAY if there're AFRAID OF GETTING WET heaps of room ... WHAT A MESS UP ...
Why are they standing out in the pouring rain to begin with ?! It’s crazy!! Find somewhere to go that is inside nice and dry and warm 😮. So stupid for just a photo.
The whole procedure has become an undisciplined shambles brought about by some rain. I am so disappointed to see this. Once upon a time it was so impressive to watch but not any more. Like the rest of the UK it's going downhill, brought about by too many foreigners.
Tourist get away with disrespect of the Royal military. They need to station away from the people and the tourist. Where they r no people should be. Honestly the royal family has no respect for their own guards to subject them to this crap daily
I always wonder if this many people are jobless, the tourists are always big lots of people. No matter the weather there's still alot of them out there. Lord,go home for a while.
people are on holiday. why would you think they are out of work? Its expensive to stay in accommodation in London let alone travel from other countries to visit it.
You’re quite correct, this is full-time army personnel with years of training and they deserve to be respected. I feel the crowd control around these soldiers is insufficient and low security within around the area I’m not sure of the relationship between the army and police. A few of the police could be a little more stronger around crowd control and insist on respecting disorders on duty❤
IF you visit would you not read up on what your going to visit first ? Take a umbrella with you april showers summer has not begun yet. And no why close a place when the tourists are at fault. Show respect and your visit will be fine. They are real police real guards who are serving soldiers real horse's who also serve. We not going to change anything because someone can or not understand what goes on. So fact find or just stay away. 😊🇬🇧😊🇬🇧😊🇬🇧😊🇬🇧
Tourist are to be endured rather than disliked, they are like the rain ,it does not mean to get you wet on purpose but it falls on you regardless. just like tourist. Working in central as I did for over ten years you get to see people early morning, day, evening and night.
Why are all these people being allowed to enter past the gates into the entrance area?? It does not make sense.!!!! Why are there foods sold inside the entrance area. Absolutely barmy.!!!!!!
They treat the guards like circus animals so it must be a little funny for the guards to tell them to FO into the rain. Those cheap skate tourists can go find a cafe to sit in and spend some of their money. LOL
I wish the guards would be off limits to tourists. They do not need to be harassed, but treated with respect. It's best to abolish tourists in that area of London. It's sometimes embarrassing the way some tourists behave. I've seen children behave better than adults.
The King’s Guard shouldn’t have to deal with rude and ignorant tourists who pull his horse’s reins and generally take the mickey out of him! Go home if you can’t respect British culture or traditions.
10 min de video qui ne justifient pas le titre .. et pareil pour toutes les autres , faut attendre 10 min de visionnages sans interet pour entre apercevoir un truc
Trained soldiers carrying out Royal duties. They have the right to be there and are instructed to give warnings in the course of their duties. If you want discussions on what you can and not do, go to Disneyland
How utterly PATHETIC. One guard shouts to tell a tourist, GET OUT OF THE ARCHES. There are NO notices advising tourists to keep out, similar to those at the front. His foot was barely under the arch; at the same time F I V E cops huddled under the opposite arches to get away from the weather. One rule for 'us' and stuff the rest of you.
i’ve seen four of these and each time it was raining. /once it stopped, then drizzled, then poured! /the next time it poured and the sun came bright and shiny. /Then it drizzled. /And this one is very rainy. when i was a kid, you always saw people in London carrying those long umbrellas 🌂 like a cane - well, men anyway. Now I know why 😋 ☔️🌦️⛈️🌬️💦🌤️
The funny thing is that England soldiers probably kicked the sh*t out of this tourists' country at one time or another. I do question why with so many soldiers and the Barracks across the road do we still need heavily armed Police on site. That really undermines the role and Authority of the Guardsmen.
The police are MOD Ministry of Defence police as Horse Guards is a working military barracks , they are there for security reasons in case of any suspected terrorism and for public safety .
