King is one of the realest and down-to-earth frontmen in Metal. I've seen Deceased and met King a handful of times, and it's always a highlight for me. Looking forward to seeing them again this year on the Bulldozer tour. Speeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!
cheers. i told justin going in it was to communicate with folks when the interview ran. he kept his end by getting it on here and absoutely i'd keep mine. we're all in this together. cheers to you :)
@@kingfowley9481 Such a far out trip. King, if read this, maybe you kould dig it. I had a few Deceased albums on CD years ago. I lost everything in a wild fire in '17. One of those Krazy NorKal fires started by the power monopoly by way of neglekt. Bleh i lost all of my musik equipment etc. But also i lost all my metal CDs. But it's hella Kool kuzz Deceased is a very unique sounding band. It's one of those things like when you meet another person who knows about your bsnd- Like they know what's up. I have that same feeling about people who know about Gutted. Lol. Anyways salute from NorKal man. I been chasing doom metal with a 5 string Viper violin. I run it thru a Pitch Fork oktave pedal by EHX. Then put it a perfekt 5th low. I tune my violin like a guitar EADGB. Bleh I'm going deep, but it krushes. Just kurios for old skull metal. You guys ever expirement with gorilla taping matching boom box speakers on the front of the kikks? I remember seeing that sub-kikk jazz drummers were using. And poof i had matching bass drum miks for 10$ via the thrift shop. Kuzz if it wasn't fukked up, it wouldn't be Death Metal. Sübix - 🪦🎻🪦
fun stuff. known cannibal corpse guys forever. back to the beyond death demos too. still good guys doing their own thing. ask george fisher about our arm wrestling at club k in the early 90s. he went 0-1 with me. time for a rematch :)
J-Dawg you sell out. Got a fuckin theme song. Showing highlights of previous episodes. Interviewing King Fowley. What’s next? Lighting and scripts? Just playin. I liked the conversation. Great video.
I love Pantera, but Deceased is criminally unknown. All of their albums rule, especially from Blueprints onward. It's a perfect blend of thrash, death, and traditional metal.
King is an institution. Should be a law somewhere for every young metalhead to spend 30 mins chatting with him. You can't help being infected with his passion and energy for this music.
i just try and be honest. no bullshit no lies or ulterior motives. seen very much in my day and just trying to better the music scene going forward. long live music and say NO to divas.
I love KF. He's so real and what you see is what you get. Very genuinely nice guy. I randomly ran into him at a record shop in VA and we talked for a while. He's every bit the same one on one as he is in any video. He told me to add him on social media and we've kept in contact ever since. I thought I just randomly ran into one of my favorite musicians, I didn't expect to walk out of it with a friend.
@@kingfowley9481I wish I could meet and pick your brain about records, songwriting and just metal in general. Its so rare to see someone so passionate about music, I feel really positive after watching any interviews with you and Justin. Big ups for being a real one 🙌
@@kingfowley9481 Yes sir I just very recently got into Deceased's catalogue and I really love what you guys do, the music's great and you guys put on a class act live
Years ago in Detroit King came up to our table and sat down and just hung out and bullshitted for awhile. We talked Metal and horror movies, Exorcist and Messiah of Evil specifically. He’s a genuinely nice dude. Cheers King!
Great interview. King is one hell of a showman and a class act on & off the stage. Saw them in Detroit this past June. First time seeing them and it RULED! Bummed I can’t see them with Bulldozer when they play here again, I’ll be out of town.
King Bowely couldn't get into Ride The Lightning... couldn't get past the Tender Metal and the smart riffs. He's spot on about Chuck being "weird" tho 🍇🍌🍓
does nothing for me at all. metallica just never worked for me. always found it goofy and always will. to each their own. by all means if it rocks for you, keep on rocking it. cheers :)
Mad Respect to King Fowley 🤘🏼🙏🏻👍🏻😎I can listen to him for hrs. My personal favorite Deceased album will always be “Luck of the Corpse” even though “Supernatural Addictions”was my first introduction to the band. Hopefully more Video of King , he’s the man!
That's why I hate motor head,,,sodom is even guilty of boogie woogie riffing later on but megadeth does it with a virtuosity and blend that is still near and dear to my heart.
@@mushroomleg Overrated? Motorhead never had a platinum album or had radio hits. In The States they only headlined clubs and small theaters. They've just influenced thousands of bands in metal, rock, and punk. You can't deny their influence. The music is all subjective.
Hail King, please come to the Chance out here in Poughkeepsie NY... WE ARE STARVING FOR METAL AFTER THIS LONG PANDEMIC. Much love to you and DECEASED/OCTOBER 31 !!!
A lot turned Christian... Pete Sandoval of morbid angel and many more. Being a Christian doesnt mean you arent metal, people just change their life philosophy
@@NAT-turners-Revenge Thank you. I’am a born again Christian, but I still listen to the same bands as usual. Music is entertainment, it’s not meant to be took’n seriously all the time.
@@NAT-turners-Revenge with mustaine, alot of ex junkies or people that main line drugs, they get into religion as a means to an end. Worse things you can do
DECEASED are awesome and totally underated but I think it's just kept them in a good and pure place anyways. King seems happy as he's just about the music. If they blew right up I don't know how much he'd enjoy playing major tours and sharing a bus with MEGADETH.haha Hopefully he makes enough money as is to keep buying MAIDEN releases. 😀
@@kingfowley9481 dave mustaine = king of thrash and still bringing it,not riffs that are almost indecernable from one another like so many death metal bands past and present, not necessarily deceased, but c,mon give credit to the chief mustaine and eleffson one of the best thrash bassist to ever or will ever do it.
@@jmorbid7319 i wont bullshit you brother. it does nothing for me. it really doesn't. i've never liked their riffs or music. and i agree on death metal being mostly forgettable. it is. i like song structures and memorable parts to go with the heavy and more often than not it just doesn't happen sadly. more megadeth for you is all. :) cheers
@@kingfowley9481 not even any riffing from killing is my business and business is good?, or peace sells? .....I didnt mean to be so harsh bro,I guess I just have a soft spot for megadeth,,kinda like I do celtic frost, but I understand people's frustration and the quirks both bands have are a bit to much for alot of people,,dave mustaine even meshed with tom g warrior to do the vocals on the celtic frost album vanity nemesis🤣🤣🤣
That was awesome! I didn't think King would actually wish death on anyone so I expected that answer. He hates Megadeth more than Metallica. *Mental Note* Never wear Megadeth shirt around King. 🤘😂
*IRONICALLY* mega was my gateway band in 93 at age 11 after discovering my uncle's CD collection. I *CANT STAND EM* as I moved on to death, emperor, dissection, etc about 95'. I hold a soft spot for em but they evolved into a "pink panty band" 💀
when I was a kid, Metallica were like religion to me and I didnt even know about their feud with Dave, I mean there is no feud just Dave bitching about it every year for last 40 years. anyway, I was looking for similar band to Metallica and lot of people pointed me at Megadeth. I liked the name and had HUGE expectations. I tried many many times to get into their music but failed every time. so my question might sound stupid and ignorant but how can anyone like Mustaines voice, I mean really how can anyone listen to him and not burst into laugh
@@jmorbid7319 define these "silverware thrown into a blender bands" seems you're attempting to be sarcastic. If you can stomach Dave's progressively awful vocals.... more power to u
@@dekapitatorr Dave's voice got progressively worse.... he use to be able to ride a "beat" using inflexions in his voice. His change ups in tone rode the interplay of guitar & drums
@@dekapitatorr I like it, i like the feel that Dave has, i like how he uses it even tho he cant sing. Also, they were pretty thrash compared to Metallica a lot of the last 40 yrs.
I know this would probably never happen but if there was a way you could get an interview with either Alex or Nick from Arghoslent that would be the interview of the decade... I can understand why those guys keep a low profile though
Whenever I hear somebody talk about Pantera, I get the same vibe as when the Emo kids started talking about Marilyn Manson. It's like those guys really didn't know what real music was about. I do like me some Ministry, Le Destroy, and Genetorturers though, for different reasons.
Never been a Deceased fan but this guy is pretty awesome 😂. To be honest I didn’t think I would like him because of the way he’s been described on this channel but I might have to give the bad another try. Good interview brother. You should do this more often.
@@kingfowley9481 wow man! Thanks for responding. I promise that next time you come to Cleveland I’ll be there. Looks like I got some catching up to do with the Deceased tunes! J talks about you all the time on here. You’re one of his heroes for sure.
cheers and thanks! oh i get out and rock always. always going to be a big boy. but always doing cardio and keeping shit right to go and go and go. 100 yard dash still going strong too. stay wilddddd :)
These 2 gentlemen and myself are the example of why elitism is needed. They have high standards and are not afraid to call out garbage for what it is and i do this stuff on my channel as well! Elitists and Gatekeepers are necessary!
Especially considering how many good death metal bands are out there today. Shit, the scene here in Texas has at least 3 in Creeping Death, Frozen Soul, and I Am. Other bands like Fuming Mouth and Gatecreeper come to mind as well. I don’t get why some of these older heads have a problem with anything that’s not “pure death metal”. There’s a lot of crossover between the hardcore and death metal scenes today and it’s cool. Ain’t nothing wrong with some death metal you can two step to. But maybe I’m biased as somebody that got into heavier stuff via the hardcore scene. Oh well, their loss. The scene is going to move on with or without them.
Right 🤣😂.... I'm 39 and I still reserve judgment on the newer waves ( bands created after 2008) .... it's not my place to decide-- let the public. There's only one suffocation, marduk, sepultura, emperor, dissection etc etc.. I can only share and educate....
I'm not a huge fan but I'll admit Rust in Peace is pretty great. Those riffs... Especially, for me, "Take No Prisoners"... it's almost got a death metal thing going on.
It blows my mind how those guys who down tune their guitars to a standard and play the same unrecognizable guitar riff that is buried through terrible sounding snare drums will try to take the piss out of actual talented musicians because they don’t want to put a picture of a woman shitting in another woman’s mouth on an album cover. What a fuckin world we live in bois
Deceased rules! And yes I agree there are way too many bands cutting corners, a lot of pro tools nonsense, and a lot of laziness. I've dealt with that for years.
"Sissy" Yeah it wasn't for me either. Just one of those bands I could never get jnto. Did I try terribly hard? Not really.😅 And i don't mind maybe 10 Metallica tracks..maybe 20. They turned into a rock band in the late 80s to around 1990. Exodus is some great thrash OTOH. Fuck yeah this guy likes Voivod? One of the first technical thrash bands.
