Idk I think we're just used to modern bands taking slumps every now and then. But KG's consistency and volume reminds me of classic groups from the 60s-70s that would have good stretches of bangers in their discogs.

Disagree. LW is more consistent, perhaps better as an album, but KG has better individual tracks and isn't as monotonal.

@@ToaRanen7 this exactly. It's a consistent album and it flows well, but there's not one track on the same level as a Minimum Brain Size, a Straws in The Wind, an Intrasport or what have you. Overall though, I don't see a great gap in quality between the albums. If I were to make a ranking of the discography, I would put them next to each other.

Can we appreciate how much Cavs has improved? His drumming has gotten absolutely top tier and much more uniquely his sound than on earlier records. KGLW is one of the very best bands around

Yeah I remember on RATTY he was talking about how he's finally been getting double bass to sound good. He definitely takes his technique seriously. Only thing off LW I'd like to see him improve is his fills. He does that one straightforward snare fill a lot on the album. Definitely a fantastic drummer though.

Today I found out I have very different vocal taste to Anthony. Ataraxia's chorus has some of the most satisfying vocals I've ever heard on a Gizz track. The verses are definietly.. interesting, lol, but I'm used to this kind of vocal delivery from them and I really don't think twice about it. Honestly surprised to hear Antny remark on it at all considering they've been doing similarly quiet and frail vocals ever since Polygondwanaland in 2017 And I love Ambrose's voice, but I will say Supreme Ascendancy was a lowpoint for me as well.

This may not be there best but it’s my favorite album for the year so far and I listened to the first 4 several times. It’s a pretty cool album and I’m gonna listen to the rest of their discography.

As a rabid TOOL fan and someone who enjoys playing a lot of their music on guitar, Ataraxia seems very much inspired, as well as sections of K.G.L.W. (palm muted bass-less solos and all).

I agree with you on many points, but keep in mind that this was recorded in quarantine, with most all the tracks being self recorded by the musicians at home, sometimes on iPhones. I think it's quite an achievement since they usually track the band live in the same room. Not their best work, but far from bad considering the circumstance.

Objectively, Nonagon Infinity and Polygondwana land is pretty much regarded as their two best, but different sections of king GIZZ fans like different albums. I love Flying Microtonal Banana and this album, metal heads love infest the rats nest and murder of the universe, people who like chill music like paper Maché dream balloon and oddments.

Nonagon Infinity and Mind Fuzz are my favorites and I think they're generally considered the best. Rats Nest is awesome if you like thrash metal but you have to be into faster heavier stuff to enjoy it. I think anyone, regardless of music taste, can enjoy Nonagon Infinity and I'm In Your Mind Fuzz a lot.

Sir Drop, you need to be reminded of Lieber Honig or Runeii .. is it not okay to take a different vocal approach if they thought the music required it?

Such a big improvement on KG, and I already liked that one. Their microtonal stuff has been my least fav of their styles so far but I’d listen to this one again for sure. And this is one of my favorite bands ever too so it’s sick that they’re back on the grind

K.G. was pretty expansive and decidedly the better of the two.. and yet melon man always disagrees.. oh also this.... Pluera is a good song and that fake laugh before describing Ataraxia's vocals is a bit low..

I really enjoyed their experiments on this double-feature album, they really got to strut their stuff and remind people just how technically proficient everyone in the band is. Killer performances and interesting vibes, but I really hope they'll go for something a little heavier on their next album. I can't help but want more of The Hungry Wolf of Fate and K.G.L.W. (the second one, not the first one).

A bit overly picky on Supreme Ascendancy Anthony. The vox are a little different for sure, but it doesn't destroy the track in the manner you suggest.
