No kidding! The original Hordak was fun but kind of goofy, I'm sorry but the 2018 version was a joke, but this Hordak. Cartoon Network was going somewhere with this! I've always kind of considered him the Darksied for Masters where Skeletor is more like Lex Luthor. Skeletor is powerful and dangerous don't get me wrong, but this version, and most versions afterwards he's terrified of Hordak.
I remember watching this episode, this Hordak looks gazillion times more powerful than the 80s Hordak. And he is definitely more powerful than Skeletor.
So that's why He-Man looks seriously different from Adam in this series...King Grayskulls form is He-Man. I never saw this episode so now it makes more sense to me.
They didn't want Adam and He-Man to look so much alike. In the original Adam/He-man are also the same age, and build. Grayskull is still ancestor to a 16 year old Adam. The powers changes him into a man. Creators said had they continued Adam was going to age to start looking more like He-man.
Despite the negative comments others said about the 2002 He-Man series, I enjoyed it. Truthfully any diehard He-Man fan like myself who watched this would know this series stayed true 2 the real origin He-Man. Also you learn the reason why Adam shouts "By The Power Of Grayskull!!" when he turns into He-Man. King Grayskull was the truth!! U can't help but call on the name of a great powerful ancestor like King Grayskull!! He single handedly beat the Snakemen & the Horde of though it cost him is life. Way more powerful than He-Man!
Fun fact: Hordak was to be the main antagonist for season 3. After the first 5 parts of season 3 ended with the Snake Men's defeat, they would return to the throne room of Snake Mountain to find the Horde surrounding them and Hordak sitting on the throne in shadow (just like when Skeletor found King Hsss sitting on it) and grabbing him by the face, hold him up with one hand (damn that's strong) and a red light flashes from Hordak's hand and disintegrates King Hsss into black dust, thus taking over for season 3. If we got the last 13 episodes for season 2, and the other 3 seasons after it, this would be the ONLY series to watch.
Was they going to bring in Adora as well with Hodark if there had been a 3rd Season? Can't remember if they were following the original story of her and Adam.
@@MTiger86 unfortunately, that wasn't on the table since the rights of Masters of the Universe and Princess of power are treated as separate IPs. Since the Evil Horde was a villain team for both however, they get to bounce around between the two
This is the king gray skull the epitome of justice,power,courage and whatnot the most badass fighter in this series ..they should have made a series for him alone.
The true King Grayskull as he was meant to be, a giant blonde white dude. Strange that the showrunners over at Netflix have such a problem with that. It's also strange that they feel the need to disparage cool characters such as Clamp Champ and Sir Laser-lot.
Because the problem is that King Grayskull looks identical to He-Man, only wearing a cape. Imagine the scene where he and Adam talk to each other. It would just look like Adam is talking to He-Man himself. It makes sense enough for the lore of this show, but for Revelations it made sense to at least give Grayskull a more unique design so that he doesn't look like a literally clone of He-Man.
@@ShinobiPXO So race swapping was the only way they could have made King Grayskull look unique? That's nonsense. Grayskull and He-Man are ancestors. There's nothing wrong with them looking similar. Even if it was a problem, they could have changed his hair color, given him a beard, scars or any number of different things to make him unique. The race swap was completely unnecessary.

Netflix literally told a black fan who complained to them about the race swapping that they (Netflix) questioned the need for two "giant blonde white dudes", so they race swapped king Grayskull. Then they went on to say no one gave a crap about previously existing characters of color like Sir Laser-lot and Clamp Champ. Which is pure nonsense. Sir Laser-lot and Clamp Champ are excellent characters and the showrunners should have built them up and given them a chance to shine, but they chose lazy race swapping instead. So let's see, Netflix has a problem with too many white characters and according to them, no one cares about poc characters already in the franchise, but, according to you, I'm racist. Yes. Hordak was going to return and conquer eternia in season 3, causing the masters to become an underground resistance where they would eventually meet adora.
King Grayskull is one of my few favourite characters of the show asides of He-Man/Prince Adam being my most favourite character out of the MOTU franchise. The appearance wise for King Grayskull is just so badass and has major great influence to Conan The Barbarian from the comics and movies to give more ultra masculine look for warrior. The only concerning part I have for King Grayskull is that we didn't get enough more to him and backstory for him during 2002 series. Maybe they should've given us comic adaption just like their other 2002's MOTU comics from Image Comics but with King Grayskull having his own standalone mini series and origins.
After seeing this episode I always wondered if Adam/He-man might make that same sacrifice one day to save his family and friends like King Greyskull did should Hordak ever return to terrorize Eternia one day and if that happens will he also bestow his powers on others like King Greyskull did for his advisors that became the Council of Elders.
Just came back from hearing about Part 2. Since Adam apparently going to become Hulk He-Man, it would be really cool if he was still on a rampage after Skelegod's defeated. All the other Champions would leave Preternia and joined forces with Teela and the other Masters to try and calm him down and restore the balance.
Wow, in this he-man version there were four of shadow weaver’s instead of one for Hordak! At least the warriors for Hordak don’t look like little wimps compared to the original version.
Szymon Szarek it was a terrible movie, yet i don't mind with Lundgren though. i was thinking about Jason Lewis as He man, but im afraid he's already quite old, perhaps if there's another He man movie that was made 10 years ago, he would be a great choice

This Hordak is so much more bad ass than the Revolution one and the garbage 80s one! Why is this one a master of magic and all the other Hordaks are not?
I think this was a battle that was his and his alone. Let's face it, even without Hordak, the rest of the Horde is no joke unlike what they tried to show in the Netflix She-Ra series. It's like the Oracle said, Grayskull had the Power to stop it. I'm not sure if Veena and his friends did, and then they would've been liabilities then actually help to him.
