For this video, I find myself once again in a stupidly fast white Mitsubishi Evo X to go for a spin thanks to my buddy Reese! With the car capable of being tuned to 1000 HP this car is ANYTHING but a slouch. Definitely one of the fastest cars I've ever driven. Thanks to all of you for watching and as always stay awesome. I love all the Evo generations...have to say that up front. Every single gen...they are singularly some of the best cars of their respective generations. But I have to say after hearing both for quite a long time...I really love the sound of the 4B11T over the 4G63 when tuned. That mean ass bassy low gurgle and how it spits up top between shifts.. I love mine. It shoots blue flames on e85, and puffs orange flames out on pump gas.. Just...so much love for this generation.

I seriously wish I could afford one of these. Even on the used market trying to find one with less than 80k miles for less than 18k is difficult. Crazy how well this car depreciated.

Do not worry about the mileage unless you are not keeping it. My used STI had 77k miles and not 122k. It has been fine

I notice with that last pull when you launched it, you didn't do the "greatest" job, and you shook your head. Then again when you hit 3rd. Don't be so hard on yourself dude. It's not your car, you don't drive it everyday. Just enjoy the fact that you're actually getting the opportunity to drive it the way you want to. You're awesome David! And you've got the worlds coolest job.

One of my dream cars, doesn't need this much power though, 600WHP is fine but 820WHP is always fun. Also, I don't know why people hate on the wings on STI's and Evo's, their gorgeous.

I hate to say that, anything gets over 600WHP for me is just pointless. The car is not balanced. In my mind the biggest point for those cars is to tell your friends "My car has 800WHP" and everyone says "Really? That's awesome". Going fast on the straight line is always fun of crouse. But for me 500WHP is good enough. And the car still can do well on corners. I like cars that can do well on corners. If you are a "straight line guy", please ignore my comment.

dAbaPEsTA123 I took a ride in a 480WHP EVO X before. When the turbo kicked in, it was so violent that I almost couldn't breathe. The lag was also huge. It is gonna be hard to control on corners. CTS-V and E60 M5 also have 500+ BHP, but they are more easy to control. I dont have to fight with lag.

Tell that to 1987 formula one drivers. Mechanical grip making at least 1000 hp in qualifying trim on 5.5 bar (75+ psi)... Iys all about controlling your right foot not limiting power. Have to be on the edge of traction you can't just floor it coming out of a corner you have to finess it. You're a better driver is you can pedal a 900 hp car around a course than if you can floor a 400 hp car out of every corner without breaking traction at the same course. Esecially with 4 wheel drive.

Guy came into the shop i work out with an Evo X, and i can't recall another car i've fan-girl'd as much as i did when i saw it pull up. Okay, maybe i fan-girl'd more when i got to work on an '07 GT 500. My point being, i've gotten to drive/work on plenty of nice and even on rare occasions, exotic cars, that have gone to the shop but something about seeing the Evo just released my inner child. It is such a beautiful car, but it also has a monstrous appeal.

It's pretty crazy people make 4 bangers that run close to or over a thousand HP, that top end tacho can probably slice cheese. I wonder how much power the stock Evo engine can handle, I know the honda K24 can handle up to ~ 500HP.

The engine can handle up to 600 whp stock. But the torque isn't safe past 400

UnrelatedNonsense A roll cage in a street car can be a bad idea. You're more likely to hurt your head by smacking it on the cage. Unless you wear a helmet every time you drive it, you're safer to just not have one.

That drivetrain judder will kill the Tcase one of these days. You need to powershift a little. Dont engage the clutch and then start giving it gas. Leave the gas pedal at 50% while you shift. You need to practice this a lil

I might be wrong, but i don't think most american reviewers have access to the earlier lighter weight evo's, so you mainly see evo 7+ on youtube. But yes i agree the earlier evo's are awesome (3,5,6). This evo X is amazing though.

ThatDudeinBlue Yeah I meant not only in your reviews (also had in mind other channels from USA like "/TUNED") hence I loved chur2dachur comment because he got what I meant and answered it correctly :D Also I like the idea of proper weight reduction, suspension and brakes > power (if first 3 are done properly allot of cars don't usually need much more power to be super fun). For a person from EU it looks like you guys focus wayy too much on power.

Thanks for the video! Love your Honda and Mitsubishi drives. I remember when you drove "Jasmine", and said you thought the sound of the 4G63 was the best 4 cyl sound- I agree. Crazy how the 4b11 sounds so close to the 4g63. I actually cant tell much difference. My dream car would be an EVO 8 built with a transfercase to be REAR WHEEL DRIVE ONLY. I'm getting goosebumps. lol.

I would say WRX depending on your modding plans. If you can afford either the STI or the EVO you can save the difference in price on the WRX and get some great mods and have a car thats a blast to drive and will get stuck in snow never! PS I live in NH so ask me how I know.

I drove my mustang 5.0 today in the snow with Pirelli all seasons and I had no issue in the five inches we got. Just put about 100lbs of stuff in the trunk. Mustang will be the fastest and good on gas. Fun to drive is subjective though.

Dude this is flipping awesome!!!! You said something really really astute there that i never thought about before and i suppose it's because i've never built a high horsepower car before lol, but that when you have built one and you're driving on the road, it is actually a race deterrent because the other cars are not worth wasting fuel on, that you should build the car for your enjoyment not to beat others, that's a very beautiful perspective.
