I'm TRYING to end this Hardcore with all negative perks for the achievements right now and the lack of fast travel start to become a drag after the middle. I can't imagine how painful it will be to Helical recording and rditing his own torture.
Honestly it is not bad. This game has a nice environment and there is always something to see around the area. I cut out all the horse riding but sometimes I find some interesting things out there, which I do not normally see on normal mode. The torture is only in the editing and maybe the time sink riding around ;)
Dude fucking impeccable editing style, I love your kcd vids but I’d want to see other games and hopefully reach a bigger audience cuz you deserve 10x your current viewership
Most definitely. I have on the side been playing other games when I get the chance to see what I could play next that would interesting to make videos about and give KCD a little break. I think after this series is done I will be doing something else for a little while. It has just been rough with the editing, work, the normal life activities to find time to get another game out there. Like I was planning on doing an Elden Ring or Crusaders King's 3 video but I have just been wiped out mentally lately to be able to do other projects than this one currently. I might have to take a couple weeks off for "research" and just play other games to find a new one to really sink my teeth into.
@@helicalgoose I feel like other open world games would be perfect for you but it just doesn't get more open than KCD so I'm not sure what else would work, but yeah it's hard for someone to get big from this game, sadly.
I loved hardcore mode, really helped me and my housemate learn the map and truly explore everything. You will know exactly where you are without the marker if you pay attention with one normal play through. Or at least spend many hours getting lost and recognising where you are haha
I am actually picking up now where I am at in certain places. Going through forest is still a bit tricky, but I think by the end of this playthrough I will be golden :P
@@helicalgoose Nice, I hope you've not been so unfortunate to be running through the woods thinking you're between Ledetchko and Sasau only to find out you're trying to exit the map haha. "I'll have to get sir Radzigs permission first" haunts me
@@mrbritish6673 Oh way out there I do not venture. The only way I would get out of there would be find a river and follow it or use the sun. But I have had those words said a few times already like damn I am at the border, but where!?
@@helicalgoose You're playing smarter than me, I see. Haha. I hadn't done too much exploring in the woods on my first go around but then I had to go for the bandit leaders and the treasure maps on hardcore and it brought me many minutes of rage xD
I won't lie, I love to think that the there is a spooky terror inside the Bohemians woods doing all the murders and you can hear the faint sounds of that squawk all around.
Ah yes, it has been so long since I have seen this. Good gravy how did I come up with this stuff sometimes. I am guessing it was a lack of sleep :P Glad you enjoyed it!
I do not blame you on not playing it since the release. From what I understand it was super rough and would be off putting. I first played this game maybe a year after it came out, so "most" of the bugs were fixed, but I did run into a few that really made me grind my teeth. Knowing what can happen, the game sort of opens up and the little bugs become charming, sort of like an Oblivion or Skyrim bug problem, you can not stay mad at it.
It is a well known trick so I can not take full credit for that :P But whoever was the original person that came up with it probably had a huge grim across their face when they thought of it.
Just discovered this and I'll probably watch the entire series straight through, really fun content! Just curious what was the name of the song played at 4:40?
Ah I am so glad that people are still watching these old videos, I completely forgotten about this song. But look up Andy Griffith Theme hip hop song :D
(Only 35% through the video) I hope I'll get to see Henry pouring a drink in this episode! Edit: I'm disappointed lol Edit2: can you run over people for real??? I have like 200 hours in the game and didn't knew....
Henry has to slow down pouring drinks, poor Sir Hanush has been hitting the sauce a little too hard :P And you can run people down, it is actually OP. Basically, the faster you're riding the more damage you do, you can basically kill shot everything in the game with two fast rides with the best horse.
I saw a vid of the voice actor (who modeled for Henry as well). It is super hard not to associate him with the psychopathy found in this game. He also appeared quite hungry .😆
I am too! I think people are just too cautious about this or think it would be too annoying. But honestly, I am surprised that I did not do this sooner!
After finishing HC I hardly noticed the nine negative perks aside from sleepwalking and reduced stats after sleeping. It's exactly the same as Normal with some few minor and hardly noticeable differences with exception of fast travel and character waypoint.
Those huntsman are a bit Kooky. I mean, the Rattay one is off his rocker, the Talmberg one is well yah, and I think the ones in the woods are too brave for their own survival. But you can not help but love this huntsman in Rattay.
Hey I’m pretty sure I was subscribed but I didn’t receive notification for this video and I saw it right now I am no longer subscribed... anyone got something similar to me ?
It is rather strange things happening to be honest. People's comments get thrown into "spam" and others are just tossed out as obscenities when they are clearly not. I think this was around the time of the first and second video part of this series and I think RU-vid thought that the video was doing "too well" and it must of been a spam campaign or something nefarious who know. Hopefully it does not cause too many people to miss the future videos if they enjoyed seeing them before.
Ive noticed you always take everything but in my experience most of it is garbage and wighs too much to be worth it Is there a reason you take all of that and how do you play being encumbered its so annoying (to be encumbered) Oh and great vid btw
Ah, I have been collecting a bunch of junk for something I have planned on later on ;) I just need a ton of it and the only way to get it is off bandits or cumans. I have just been stealing everything since scrolling through all the items to get what I want takes longer than walking a bit slower for a little bit. But also being encumbered happens too because of the perk of "Burgher" which gives +1 strength, so when I leave the town area it comes in effect which is slightly annoying :P
Regarding Ginger's body, did you really think all that beef in Bohemia was beef? If King Wenceslaus IV can't handle his brother's temper tantrum, do you think he would really run the FDA any better?
lol, I really like to think that a group of peasants are coming by with a cart picking up "road kill" and sending them straight to the slaughter house for this week's beef "special"
In normal mode I usually can bully the entire tournament with low level Henry. On hardcore mode, it seems they're resisting Henry's advances to cheese them. Henry will be back :P
On normal mode their strength seems to be lower and you can get them in a stun lock grab and push sort of deal. When you get them in a corner you can grab and push them there and get a "free" smack on the head. This usually takes them out with a little persistence. Black Peter is a bit of a toss up for low level Henry, but the technique still works. :)
Many thanks :D This series is a crazy roller coaster of insanity. I have completely forgotten what I have done in the past and when I see it again its like wth haha Hopeful you will enjoy the rest!
I think with luck of the drunk perk and lock pick 6 you can open that chest too. I have the bad habit of rushing to lockpick of 6 in this game now because it is the quickest way to get ridiculously wealthy. But I do agree with you that normally it is not easy and also this seems a bit an unfair quest to most people, since I remember when I first played this game, I did not complete this mission because as far as I can tell, lockpicking that chest is the only way. If you're not aware of the luck of the drunk perk, then you need like 12 or something like that to open the chest which is insane. I know this is a thief mission, but it is not that interesting and is just a skill wall quest. I do not think I ever been caught. It is rather boring IMO, wish they had a little more jazz to it oh well :/
@@helicalgoose I tried in my last playthrough with lockpick 16 and failed. I did not pick luck of the drunk, but made it with a padfoot potion later on.
@@TheMostTruth Next time you get the feeling to restart a new character, build up to luck of the drunk and really feel the power :P padfoot potions are also a big bonus that people often overlook.
Watching the old episodes are still surprisingly decent. Its been so long that I forgotten everything that has happened and it still comes out like a short play based on Bohemian chaos!
@@helicalgoose It was a 'Jesus Christ be Praised' Wednesday too ... The postman delivered something very awesome, my copy of KCD signed by Tom McKay... Henry himself!
@@Gimboid79 That is a very nice pick up there ;) Also, every time I look at it his picture I always think of Henry. I know they made his character to look like him but still :P
I bought the games few weeks ago on sale and am loving it. Found your content just trying to learn more about the game. So far your my preferred one to watch for guides/game mechanics. Now starting to get through this series you're doing and I'm enjoying myself. The editing decisions you've been making lately have really paid off. Certainly adds to the experience and overall hilarity. Nice job, bud.
Many thanks :D I really need to make "better guides" to starting KCD. The ones I have done in the past (and the one video that keeps getting more recommendations than any other) I have kept up but I really need to redo them with better audio and graphics, plus editing. Also this video part 5 was pretty fun to make, some of the episodes I have a hard time remembering what happened, but this one was fun. I think the lack of sleep really add the edge on it :D Hopefully the other videos can hold up to your liking!
Actually, I did not know until I tried searching for the series myself and go, wait a minute, there is a something called the same thing. Complete accident! Have you seen that series before? Worth checking out or so-so?
@@helicalgoose Series? I am talking about a movie. The only FPS movie I know. Story is really average with some fun moments here and there and some action. What makes it special is the FPS perspective. So I would actually recommend it if You want to experience a movie in a unique way. Let me know if You find it and watch it. I'm curious what other people think
Yah, if you find the bandits there, but don't attack them and go back to Bernard, he will say that I believe :D There are soooo many dialogue options that I didn't know existed until I really started to pick options I would never try.
@@crayonyum Haha, I do appreciate that people take the time to comment on videos, and I try to get to many as I can no matter when the video was released. Its the least I can do to show that I appreciate anyone taking the time do such a thing, especially when they been enjoying my old work :D
I also do not know why, but one of your comments I could not find. Something about links to the previous videos? I can always add that to the end of the video or in the description if you think that helps. I try to keep these in a play list that you can go back and forth but if the links help ill put them in.
Dude, I love your editing style. Its reminiscent of old-school RU-vid poops. I lost it at the part where the guy says "he took it in the back" and you show you killing him. Your videos are hilarious. Good shit man.
Helical, due to you starting your series I decided I want to get the achievement. I'm just at Nest of Vipers and want to do the "bow on top of tent" method but my bow skill is like level 4. Is there anyway to power level my bow skill?
That is a tough one to be honest. This is partly why I have not been using my bow that much since you need to shoot so many times to gain exp. The prime candidates for "farming" locations to increase bow is around the burnt out village in the center of the map. (It gets burnt out after DLC starts). Out there they have cows and sheep that spawn really quickly. Hunting respawn parts are great too. If you were able to win the Hans Capon bow, use that. It has a really quick draw time meaning you can get more shots off faster. Use the weakest arrows you can find and stand on top of the tent and farm that for days. Using basic arrows will take forever to mow down those brigands from a safe location, assuming that they do not have like 20 archers there :P
You can do that, but that is a bit tricky, since you got a time limit to move his horse before he decides to leave without you, meaning he gets back onto his horse. You can get him stuck in other areas, but the moment you look away he teleports. It does not provide any crazier scenes if that happens, like the guards are not following him, but rather going straight to Neuhof. Unlike Han's Capon dogs, which are following him, it causes them to go a bit crazy :P
43 hours to beat hardcore mode, that is pretty impressive. Even on normal mode that is a feat/dedication. I think the limiting factor for a speed run for hardcore mode would be trying to beat runt down without dying. That first battle is gnarly.
@@helicalgoose It was definitely a road block, I tried 3-4 times hammer and shield, went and did all the bandit camps then came back and got it straight up. Found it to be quicker than grinding side quests.
Oh goodness, I do not think I could do this for full time. I think it might be a bit hard to be funny when you're paycheck is on the line lol. This is a pretty fun side creativity project that people are enjoying so that works :)
I am fairly certain most of those fences are jumpable. If you're playing on the PS4 or Xbox version the lag might make it a bit crazy to do. But you can jump the fence if you're about a horse length away from the fence before you start jumping.
@@nguyentrananhnguyen7900 Oh my, then the space bar opens up the game quite a bit for you :D With top speeds and timing you can get over plenty of bushes and sometimes get stuck in areas you shouldn't be at ;)
The most terrifying kind only ;) I believe they are the ones that Zora was talking about that show up drunk from the tavern and start messing with the horses.
Ah everything is fine. I do not know if you checked out the community tab here but I have been busy in real life. I try to give updates if videos are not coming out. Usually I am good for about a month until I need to record new footage or either I visit people or have a big party sort of deal then my editing time gets wrecked. But everything is pretty good :D
There is one combo that I learned quite well, its the one that you push people down. But honestly it sort of broke the game for me, especially if I start switching to mace goes bonk mode then its over! If I was speed running then those combos would be used a lot more :P
@@symmetrymilton4542 Well it can be fun the first couple times ;) But I think it is fun to do by myself and not so much making a video for everyone that already does that whenever a guard comes to charge them with a a crime for not having a torch out at 3 pm :P We got to give the NPCs a fair chance. If you get further into the series you will my weapon choices will sort of reflect that too :P
Ah I am glad you said something. I will try to limit them a bit. It is sort of balancing act trying to get things to work. This video took me much longer because I could not really figure out how to balance some things or make a joke out it. If you can tell me which part the jump cuts were a bit rough please tell me, maybe I can smooth them out a bit in the future.
@@helicalgoose The part between 4 and 6 minutes in are a bit much for me personally. Better to make fun of stuff happening in a voice over than repeatedly cut back. Mind you, this is just my opinion, might be that other people love this kind of stuff.
@@viewerPluisje I really do appreciate the input here. I do agree with you that some of the cutscenes went on a bit back forth too much too long in this. I believe the cause of this was that I was working on building the video all together and this was the first part I put in, then kept coming back and adding other things. (I was afraid that the video was not going to be long enough, don't know why but it was in the back of my head). So I added in other things that probably made that part not as smooth and sort of more annoying. I do feel some of it was pretty weak and could've been left out. Thanks for the input it just makes it easier to think and pay attention to those sort of things ;)
